Zum Titelstück hat die Symphonic Metal-Band zudem Anfang September 2024 ein Video veröffentlicht: “Dance With The Devil” bei YouTube. Jetzt folgt mit der Live-Version von “Moth To A Flame” eine weitere Hörprobe.

Erscheinen wird die EP am 8. November 2024 via Napalm Records auf CD, Vinyl sowie digital.

“‘Murder8’ ist ein Straßenname für Fentanyl. Ich habe meinen älteren Bruder 2022 durch Fentanyl verloren und meine jüngere Schwester nur ein Jahr später, 2023, ebenfalls durch Fentanyl. Opioide werden seit den frühen 2000er Jahren in alarmierendem Ausmaß verschrieben und haben Millionen von Familien auf der ganzen Welt, insbesondere in den Vereinigten Staaten, betroffen. Wenn du jemanden durch eine Überdosis verloren hast, ist dieser Song dir gewidmet.”

Die EP “Vile Conduct” erschien am 20. April 2024 im Rahmen des Record Store Days zunächst exklusiv auf Vinyl. Eine digitale Version folgte am 3. September 2024 via MNRK Heavy.

Die Metalcore / Hardcore-Band THE HOSTAGE SITUATION meldet sich mit einer neuen Single zurück: “The Last Leg” ist der erste neue Release der US-Amerikaner aus Arizona, die von 2006 bis 2010 erstmals aktiv waren, seit mehreren Jahren.

“Als wir die Band gründeten, war das eine Brücke vom Teenager zum jungen Erwachsenen. Wir wollten alles machen, und wir wollten alles auf einmal machen. Jetzt, 18 Jahre später, können wir uns mit ‘The Last Leg’ neu vorstellen, wie die Band mit ein wenig Zeit und Perspektive klingen würde. Industrial music icon Raymond Watts, better known by the pithy porcine moniker PIG, is making a grand return with the reissue of his groundbreaking album Sinsation. Now available through Metropolis Records and Armalyte Industries, this digital and CD re-release brings the seminal 1990s album back to the forefront, freshly remastered at Abbey Road.

Originally dropped in the mid-’90s via Trent Reznor’s Nothing Records, Sinsation showcases Watts’ signature fusion of the sacred and the sinful. With tracks like Painiac, Hamstrung On The Highway, and Hot Hole, the album epitomizes PIG’s genre-blending prowess, melding hook-laden, electronic-tinged alternative rock with a dose of sleazy glamour and sinister swing.



“Every record I make is PIG through a different noose … and when I made Sinsation the noose hung high,” recalls Watts. “Sinsation was born in 1995 at Ranch Apocalypse in London. The culmination of creation and cremation … an apotheosis of desperation, nihilism and desire … the only place I could go was to the poison well and drink deeply…I was locked inside the studio and myself. The barricades were up in my fortress of solitude with only Steve White and a large box of drugs for company. Sinsation was the sound of the last card turning and burning. The only way out was through. I had to give birth to the noise inside my head and record it. A fiendishly simple and yet simply fiendish task. A place in which I was so uncomfortable that success would be to fail, as to fail had been my only success.”

This revamped edition not only reintroduces PIG’s provocative mix of dark, electronic-tinged rock but also highlights a roster of notable collaborators. Featuring contributions from Karl Hyde (Underworld), Jimmy Cauty (The KLF), Steve White (KMFDM), and Carol Anne Reynolds (Sow), alongside Japanese talents Imai Hisashi (Buck Tick) and Hoppy Kamiyama, Sinsation promises a thrilling dive into its genre-defying depths.

“Sinsation wasn’t anything about the ascent of man – it was the descent of ham,” Watts quips. “As surely as everything passes, so did the spotlight on sin, as the long thin shadow that scratched the words from deep within and conducted the chaos would soon cast its darkness on a new vision. PIG would crawl to a different master in me and hang from a new noose. I was surprised and saddened to re-visit Sinsation, surprised by the energy and invention and saddened to hear the pain … But I was strangely glad to have visited hell, and blessed that I didn’t stay.”

Raymond Watts has forged a remarkable career since his early days in the mid-1980s industrial rock scene with KMFDM. Beyond releasing 14 albums as PIG, Watts has toured with Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM, and Einstürzende Neubauten. His influence extends to fashion and film, contributing to collections for Chloe, Marios Schwab, Halston, and The Row, and even providing sound design for the Punk: Chaos to Couture exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Watts also teamed up with Alexander McQueen to enhance the track Inside for the Plato’s Atlantis soundtrack. This collaboration was featured in McQueen’s posthumous ‘Savage Beauty’ exhibition, which set records at both The Met and the Victoria & Albert Museum.

Sinsation (Remastered) is available to order here. The limited edition vinyl features two heavyweight slabs of black vinyl, barely containing the sin, sleaze, and salvation that the album exudes. The gatefold sleeve includes two inserts: a 12″ by 12″ lyric sheet and a massive foldout poster (approximately 7″ x 42″) showcasing designer Steve Lovell-Davis’ striking artwork. The fourth side of the vinyl boasts Armalyte’s inaugural etched piece.

Vancouver’s Sektion Tyrants dives into the depths of electronic post-punk, echoing the esteemed UK bands of the late ’70s and early ’80s. Their long-awaited debut LP, Love & Suffer, delivers a dizzying dance of dynamic and desolate synths, igniting a frantic feeling that pulses with infectious guitar hooks. Ferreira’s raw, raucous vocals slice through the mix, adding a gritty edge. Love & Suffer skillfully plays across a range of topics inherent to the human experience: from the loss of a good friend to emotional fixations and lack of motivation, the album creates a unique sense of anxiety before allowing for some relief. If The Cure, The Sound, and Soft Cell had a wild night out, this would be the soundtrack.

“(Love & Suffer) is a heartfelt tribute to the dearly missed Stephaney Bird,” explains Ferreira. “The remaining songs feature abstract metaphors that delve into my persistent existential crisis and the recurring sense of disappointment in various aspects of my life. A relentless cycle of moving one step forward and then sliding three steps back.”

The opening track, Instant Hit, hits hard with a confident New Wave swagger that collides The Cure’s angular guitars and The Blitz’s palpable angst. The track boasts an incredibly catchy hook, set against a backdrop of post-punk drumming and ghostly synth pads, delivering a danceable dynamism that sticks. Meanwhile, A Presence of Mind slows the pace to something more haunting and contemplative, diving into expansive gothic depths with eerie synths and impassioned vocals.

Last of the Wild Ones is a propulsive toon that cranks the intensity to eleven, blasting off with whooshing synths and spacey melodies that recall Gang of Four’s gritty grooves and early Interpol. The vocals, almost shouted with fervor, echo anthemic excitement and exhilarating energy. It’s as if a lost track from the soundtrack of Some Kind of Wonderful resurfaced, bringing back a rush of nostalgic, high-octane thrills.

The title track, Love & Suffer, strikes a nerve with its frantic fervour and pained vocal delivery, drenched in high pathos. The guitars wail plaintively, echoing a mournful melody that bleeds with palpable grief. It’s a raw, resonant lament, offering a beautiful and heartfelt tribute to a lost friend.

Tunnel Vision strides into sci-fi territory with its ominous synths, echoing screeches, and urgent backbeat, echoing the eerie ambiance of a Doctor Who episode and the echoing guitar stylings of Bauhaus. This strong guitar work stands sentinel overlooking the melody while Ferreira’s voice eerily echoes Robert Smith’s breathy timbre, creating a haunting harmony – a thrilling ride through a panic attack. Systematic Letdown revs up the tempo with squeaking synths and cymbal taps that jitter and jangle. Howling synths wail alongside frenzied guitars, while bells and yelps punctuate the mix, bringing to mind Mi-Sex’s classic Computer Games. It’s a night drive through a cityscape of sound, each element adding to the chaos and charm of the urban jungle.

Selective Memories slinks into shadowy echoes, with a voice that grabs the spotlight and yelps like a streetwise stray. Minimalistic guitars hum with a psychedelic haze, their creepy echoes dredging up dark whispers from the Pornography-era Cure. Each note hangs heavy, a haunting reminder of forgotten sorrows, blending into a brooding backdrop of somber murmurings.

Sudden Steps wraps up the album with a brisk, buoyant beat, bouncing with a disco-driven tempo and lively layers of raw guitars. Fun, frolicsome synths froth with a futuristic flair, reminiscent of Fad Gadget’s mechanical mischief and Devo’s dynamic dazzle. The track pops with a playful pulse, ending the record on a high note with infectious energy and cheeky charm.

Die Deathgrind-Band K.Y.M.I. hat mit “Hemicrania” eine zweite Single ihres kommenden Albums “Liha” veröffentlicht. Zuvor ist der Song “Raatelija” erschienen. Dieser erzählt die Geschichte eines Vaters, der unter einem ständigen Schlafmangel leidet. Die wenigen Morgen, an denen es möglich wäre zu schlafen, werden immer wieder von der unbarmherzigen Hauskatze unterbrochen, die ihr Herrchen mit ihrem Hunger nach Futter aufweckt.

“Liha” ist das erste Album des Solo-Projekts von Kalle Ylönen, der bei den Aufnahmen von Tuukka Ojansivu unterstützt wurde. Release-Termin ist der 27. September 2024.

Berlin darkwave outfit Night Nail is set to drop their remix album Fates Remade on September 6, 2024, via Metropolis Records, with contributions from Bedless Bones, Kill Shelter, Antipole, and more!

From the album, Night Nail has just unveiled a new remix from European collective A State of Flux of I’m Not Her God. This remix melds acid house vibes from The Hacienda’s heyday with EBM and German techno. Night Nail and A State of Flux twist gothic tones into a danceable hybrid, strutting their stuff in the warm glow of the Italian countryside with a sensual fusion of dark rave rhythms and dynamic beats.

“Making this remix song with A State Of Flux pushed me into a new realm of creativity, but, also, it strengthened my bond with this artist,” says Night Nail’s Brandon Robert. “It was exciting to make Fates Remade because it took every ounce of faith I had to trust in the process, the contributing artists, and their final remixes. That was the hardest part and they had to trust me, too. The reward came from this having this trust and you can hear in the songs.”

Valentina Veil (VV & the Void) and Sacred Geometry’s latest video is a vivid voyage, blending breathtaking Italian countryside with psychedelic patterns. The visual treats transform the serene landscapes into a swirling, kaleidoscopic wonderland, perfectly paired with the hypnotic track. As the camera meanders through rural Italy, it superimposes stunning geometric designs, making each frame a feast for the eyes.

The song was produced by Pedro Code (IAMTHESHADOW), who has also worked with The Neuro Farm, A Cloud Of Ravens, and VV & the Void). 

After Night Nail’s shift to Berlin in 2018, they churned out LA Demons with Cleopatra Records and followed up with the 2020 release, March To Autumn, on Cold Transmission. Their latest, Fates Explained, dropped last November, courtesy of Metropolis Records. Not resting on their laurels, Night Nail revisited their roots with the Early Demons and Demos 10 Year Anniversary Edition, hitting the shelves in June, again through Metropolis Records.

A State of Flux, a European Electronic ensemble, taps into minimalist and futurist vibes from the 60s and 70s. Their emotive, electronic explorations are shaped by the interplay of electronics and math, featuring members like Arc, Peter 7, Sacred Geometry, and The Zero Movement among others.

In the shadowed corridors of digital sprawl envisioned by the likes of William Gibson and Philip K. Dick, model collapse isn’t just a glitch—it’s a force of unparalleled chaos. It starts to slip, tripping over its own code, unable to navigate the chaotic terrain of the real world. The fallout isn’t just theoretical; it’s a cascade of corrupted predictions and bad calls that could ripple through the nerve centers of finance, healthcare, or infrastructure. The stakes are high, and the risk is significant: a malfunctioning AI could cause widespread errors and dangerous outcomes in ways one might not yet be able to imagine.

“As we forge forward on an unprecedented technological scale, it makes me wonder how much longer we can remain in control of various aspects of our lives,” muses Bill Leeb (Front Line Assembly, Skinny Puppy, Delirium). “Automation has already taken over many industries. With technology running much of the world, will the entire planet eventually be vulnerable to a Model Kollapse? Chaos would surely ensue.”

Bill Leeb’s murky new track from this apocalyptic meditation, Demons, dives into this particular mire of modern malaise. The song is a slice of industrial-EBM, immediately hurling us into a harsh, synthetic underworld as Leeb mixes his trademark creeping electronic gloom with a high-octane jolt. It’s a fierce, frenetic fusion that guarantees a charged, adrenaline-pumping ride through the dark.

Demons, lyrically, serves as a grim exploration of the shadows we wrestle with daily: an anthem for the adversity-stricken souls grappling with the grind of purpose, joy, and creativity amidst an omnipresent tech storm. Reflecting our internal skirmishes, Leeb stands as a bold beacon of defiance.

“The song is inspired by how much darkness and evil exist in the world,” Leeb explains. “How we have to carefully navigate ourselves through all of this on a day-to-day basis and still try and find a reason to get up, be happy to be alive, and try to be creative. Technologies are here to stay. Demons exist everywhere in our minds, in our hearts, and every aspect, so we have to fight.”

 Get ready for a wild ride with T. Hill’s latest animated adventure, a disturbing dive into a dystopian future. Model Kollapse marks Leeb’s first solo venture. This record reflects the dystopian, nihilistic world we have created in so many different ways, ultimately asking the question “When will the human voice be lost to AI and technology….or will that be what saves us in the end?”  

Model Kollapse was recorded and produced in Vancouver, Toronto and Los Angeles with assistance from Vancouver/Toronto-based production duo Dream Bullet and long-term cohort Rhys Fulber, plus regular mixing engineer Greg Reely. This album also involves contributions by LA-based artist Mimi Page and Jason Corbett (ACTORS).

Die Death Metal-Band PAGANIZER hat einen Labeldeal bei Xtreem Music unterschrieben. Im Zuge dessen werden die Schweden ihre neue EP “Forest of Shub Niggurath” veröffentlichen. Die Scheibe gilt als Vorbote für das 13. Album der Band, “Flesh Requiem”, welche allerdings bereits im Vorfeld von Transcending Obscurity Records angekündigt worden ist.

“Forest of Shub Niggurath” wird am 10. September 2024 erscheinen. Vorab gibt es den Opener “The Outer Gods” zu hören.

Die Black Metal-Band FIRTAN hat nach den Videos zu “Wermut hoch am Firmament” – mit Gast-Sänger L.G. (ELLENDE) – und “Komm herbei, schwarze Nacht” mit “Contra Vermes” einen dritten Track ihres kommenden Albums “Ethos” veröffentlicht. Es ist das vierte Album der Deutschen aus Lörrach und wird am 13. September 2024 via AOP Records.

Produziert wurde das Album von Markus Stock in der Klangschmiede Studio E, während das Cover-Artwork von Nona Limmen stammt.

In 2020, Augustus Muller’s quirky collaboration with Cooper B. Handy on Boy Harsher’s The Runner (Original Soundtrack) raised eyebrows. Muller, known for his intense collage of synth beats, seemed an odd pairing with Handy’s offbeat, laissez-faire lyricism. Yet, it was this clash of styles that brewed something special—a melding of Muller’s sharp-edged production with Handy’s unvarnished vocal delivery. Their chemistry, born from a shared fascination with the raw and the real, reached a high point with “Autonomy,” an anthem of understated power. From this creative spark, Safe Mind was born—an exploration of a musical space where earnest simplicity meets refined detail, shaping a sound that is both innocent and intricate, stripped back yet layered with meaning.

Now, with the release of their debut single, “6ʼ Pole”, Safe Mind makes thier grand debut. The track is a relentless pulse of post-punk energy, its bassline throbbing like a neon heartbeat, layered with taut drum strikes and funky guitar licks reminiscent of the Bush Tetras’ no-wave swagger. Handy’s vocals—channeling the cool detachment of Terry Hall from Fun Boy Three, blended with Damon Albarn’s casual drawl—ride over this frenetic backdrop with a playful dissonance, evoking the primal energy of The Creatures, and the art-rock eccentricity of Talking Heads.

“6ʼ Pole” is a nightlife anthem built to pump up the volume. Its irresistible pull reaches out the requisite six feet, touching you with an insistent rhythm and infectious bounce that will have you bopping your head to the beat in no time.

Für ein neues Black Metal-Projekt haben sich vier durchaus honorige Franzosen – u.a. bei Bands wie DIABLATION, BÂ’A oder AD INFERNA aktiv – eingefunden: GRAVENOIRE. Diese drehen das Rad der (eigenen) Zeit etwas zurück. Denn zum einen huldigt die Band dem 90er-Melodic Black Metal und zum anderen wurde die Debüt-EP “Devant la porte des étoiles” schlichtweg live im eigenen Proberaum aufgenommen, was man der Scheibe auch anhört. Neben dem nicht auf Hochglanz polierten Sound, was in Sachen Wertigkeit nicht ins Gewicht fällt, gibt es bei der Back to the Roots-Aufnahme doch einen kleineren Makel, als dass das “Orchestrale” beim Intro “Pavens” etwas wackelig ausfällt.

Instrumental und kompositorisch quellen die Songs wenig überraschend aus den Boxen, wobei “Granit”, dessen langsameren Parts nicht so gut zur Geltung kommen, vom Songaufbau etwas aufhorchen lässt. Auch schielt der Black Metal mitunter leicht in Richtung Viking Metal. Songs wie “France de l’Ombre” brauchen zudem etwas Anlaufzeit, um dann doch mit leichter Post Black Metal-Note die Ohren zu umschmeicheln und vor allem mit der französischen Aussprache in ihrer Kombination mit der giftigen Vocal-Performance zu punkten. Denn mitunter klingt es, als würden einem die Lyrics mit feuchter Aussprache ins Gesicht gespuckt. Da ist viel gesangliche Intensität dahinter, welche der EP, die gefühlt auch ein Les Acteurs De l’Ombre Productions-Release sein hätte können, das Plus an Reiz verleiht.
