-> >;In den frühen Morgenstunden des 29. Juli 2024 erlag der Musiker Andreas Catjar-Danielsson seinem Krebsleiden. Für seine Angehörigen ebenso wie für seine Freunde, wozu natürlich auch insbesondere seine langjährigen Weggefährten der Band COVENANT zählen, war dies ein schwerer Schock. Obwohl die Musiker schon seit einiger Zeit wussten, dass ihr liebenswerter Freund und Kollege seinen schweren Kampf gegen den Krebs verlieren würde, traf sie die Erkenntnis, dass es tatsächlich passiert war, trotz aller "innerer Vorbereitung" dennoch mit voller Wucht. Exakt ein Jahr nach diesem schrecklichen Tag haben COVENANT die "Andreas EP" angekündigt, die erste Veröffentlichung der Schweden seit fast einem Jahrzehnt. Die EP ist sowohl als eine Hommage an den verlorenen Freund und Mitstreiter gedacht, soll aber auch einem wohltätigen Zweck dienen, da alle Einnahmen an die Witwe und die beiden gemeinsamen Kinder von Andreas Catjar-Danielsson gehen werden. Die "Andreas EP" enthält fünf experimentelle Tracks, von denen zwei Cover-Versionen sind: Der YAZOO Klassiker "Winter Kills" und der LEE HAZLEWOOD Song "A Rider on a White Horse". COVENANT wurden im Jahr 1988 in der Stadt Helsingborg in Schwedens südlichster Provinz Skåne gegründet. Die Gruppe junger Burschen ließ sich von der florierenden elektronischen Musikszene in Europa inspirieren. Diese wurde von Bands wie DEPECHE MODE, KRAFTWERK, THE HUMAN LEAGUE und FRONT 242 angeführt, um nur einige zu nennen. COVENANT wählten ihren Namen als Symbol für das besonders starke Band der Freundschaft, durch das sich die Musiker miteinander verbunden fühlten. Im Laufe ihrer steilen Karriere, die derzeit neun gefeierte Studioalben und zwei Live-Alben umfasst, haben sich COVENANT stets weiterentwickelt und nach neuen aufregenden Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten gesucht, um die Grenzen der elektronischen Musik zu verschieben. Brooklyn’s Lathe of Heaven slices through genre boundaries, carving out their own vivid niche between punk, new wave, and post-punk on their anticipated second full-length release, Aurora, set for an August 29th release via Sacred Bones. With a nod toward literary introspection and philosophical riddles, their latest offering, Oblivion, plunges listeners into an existential whirlpool.

Singer Gage Allison sets the stage over choppy rhythms and gleaming guitar lines, imagining a substance capable of amplifying self-awareness into oblivion. “Say a word enough times and it begins to lose meaning,” he reflects. “This is a phenomenon called semantic satiation, and it is the underlying inspiration behind this song.” His vision unfolds like a Philip K. Dick short story, where the mirror’s reflection multiplies identity until it collapses into cosmic ambiguity.

Lathe of Heaven paints in bold, cerebral strokes, confronting Cartesian duality: Descartes’ separation of mind and body, head-on. Allison toys with philosophical misdirection: “I just like playing with the idea of being tricked into experiencing an essential oneness with the universe in a way that binds us in a great link of existence.” Yet, he’s quick to caution: “Too much of anything is almost always a bad thing, and taking this drug will likely have dire consequences.”

Allison pauses and notes he is getting ahead of himself.”…Let’s just say these lyrics are a prequel to a future project.”

The accompanying visual, courtesy of Max Rooney and Hank Allen of Fingertrap Productions, deepens the surreal disorientation. “We wanted to match the sci-fi themes of Lathe of Heaven and add our own twist,” they explain. The fractured, blue-tinted visuals cleverly employ mirrors and projectors, distorting reality and separating bodies from their surroundings. It’s equal parts cerebral thriller and optical illusion.

Oblivion is a compelling glimpse of Aurora, poised to thrust Lathe of Heaven into the alt-consciousness zeitgeist, prompting fans to question reality and perhaps lose themselves a bit in the process.

Jehnny Beth‘s No Good For People arrives like a cryptic transmission from the industrial fringe, crackling with icy intensity and a stark dissonance. Dropped in late July as a teaser for her anticipated sophomore release, You Heartbreaker, You (Fiction Records, August 29), the track collides bold electronica with a bruised reflection on self-destruction and isolation.

The origins trace back to HBO’s hypnotic True Detective, specifically Rust Cohle’s piercing confession: “I think I’m just not good for people…I wear them down.” This sentiment struck a chord with Beth.

“It spoke to me because it questions the inability to coexist with others and the delicate balance where the truth can be heartbreaking.”

Beth twists that revelation into an industrial meditation, channeling raw vulnerability and corrosive honesty. The song pulses with abrasive synth textures, an unsettling dance through emotional solitude and stark self-awareness. Her voice slithers between brittle whispers and razor-edged proclamations, embodying the fraught space between intimacy and alienation. It’s artful self-examination, amplified by layers of distortion and electronic intensity.

Accompanying the single is a striking visual co-directed by Beth and creative partner Johnny Hostile, a surreal exploration of duplicity and suppressed identities. Mirrored selves float through dream-state vignettes, invoking a subconscious clash between truth and façade. The video’s stylized atmosphere nods reverently to the late David Lynch, capturing his off-kilter aesthetic through velvet drapery and cryptic symbolism. Beth’s cinematic homage gracefully deepens the emotional potency of the song.

“We explored this idea of the double, how we can be two-faced sometimes, or want to hide our ugly side,” Beth explains. “It was made soon after David Lynch had died, and somehow, when I watch it now, I can see a bit of his influence in the surrealistic aspects of some of the scenes (with blue curtains instead of red, though!!)”.

No Good For People unfolds as an unflinching portrait of internal fracture and external estrangement, a poised juxtaposition of industrial harshness and emotional rawness. Jehnny Beth confronts the hidden ugliness of human connection with profound authenticity, marking this track as a compelling preview of a highly anticipated second act.

Jehnny Beth, the fiercely compelling French artist acclaimed for her commanding performances in post-punk, indie, and art-rock circles, rose to prominence leading the critically celebrated London quartet, Savages, in the 2010s.

Spanning nine diverse tracks, You Heartbreaker, You confronts personal turmoil and global upheaval head-on. Beth frames the record as a reflection on our volatile times, remarking, “We’re living in a dark era, full of drama and barbarous tragedy… in these times, we either learn how to scream really well, or we learn how to whisper.” This duality shapes the album’s soundscape, ranging from the explosive intensity captured in the single Broken Rib to moments of hushed vulnerability, vividly illustrating the nuanced extremes of human emotion and reaction.

The album’s release will be supported by special live events. Jehnny Beth has announced a series of in-store performances at Rough Trade shops in the UK in early September 2025, where fans can see her up close and get signed copies by pre-ordering the album. Additionally, she will embark on a European/UK tour in October 2025, including headline shows in London (Oct 30 at Electrowerkz and Oct 31 at The Camden Assembly) and dates in France, Germany, Switzerland, and more.

Drei Jahre lang düngte und hegte das schwedische Dark-Electronic-Trio den Keim, bis er feste Wurzeln in ihrem musikalischen Erbe fand und damit begann, neugierige Ableger in neue fruchtbare Böden jenseits der zuvor errichteten Klanggartenmauern zu senden. "The Coloured Breeze Is a New Dimension" ist ein organisches Gebilde, das etwas Neues schafft, indem es seine musikalische DNA auf verschiedene Weise rekombiniert. Als Ergebnis erblühen die frischen Songs in vielen elektronischen Farbnuancen. TWICE A MAN waren schon immer Vorreiter. In ihrem Heimatland Schweden waren sie die anerkannten Pioniere der elektronischen Musik. Und schon lange bevor es in Mode kam, positionierten sich die Schweden als selbstbewusste Umweltschützer. Musikalisch wurden sie liebevoll mit Bezeichnungen versehen wie: "Ultravox auf Gras – wenn auch melancholisch und ohne zuckriges Pathos" oder "wie ein trauriger Gary Numan, aber mit einem warmen, organischen Touch". In ihrem Sound finden sich auch sanfte Anklänge an TANGERINE DREAM, KLAUS SCHULZE und THE HUMAN LEAGUE neben vielen anderen möglichen Referenzen. Als sich Sänger, Gitarrist und Keyboarder Dan Söderqvist im Jahr 1977 mit dem Synthesizer-Spieler Karl Gasleben zusammenkam, gründete das Duo zunächst COSMIC OVERDOSE, die erste elektronische Band Skandinaviens, aus der dann TWICE A MAN hervorging. Während ihrer bemerkenswerten Karriere veröffentlichten die Schweden zahlreiche Alben, inklusive spezieller Projekte, und zwei Kompilationen. Sie spielten zahllose Konzerte und schufen den Soundtrack für sieben abendfüllende Theateraufführungen im Königlichen Dramatischen Theater in Stockholm, Musik für Filme, Ausstellungen, Tanzaufführungen und sogar Computerspiele. Die Natur spielt auch in den Texten und im Sound von "The Coloured Breeze Is a New Dimension" wieder eine große Rolle. Denn das deutsche Electro Industrial Projekt dreht die Zahl auf ihrem sechsten Album nur um wenige Grad und schon wird es zum Symbol für die Unendlichkeit. Die Zahl 8 spiegelt sich auch in der Struktur des Albums wider, das aus 8 Songs mit einer Spielzeit von jeweils 8 Minuten besteht. Dabei brechen die neuen Stücke mit der klassischen Formel aus Refrain und Strophe. Und frisch eingeführte ungerade Taktarten und polyrhythmische Experimente tragen ebenfalls zu einem spannend progressiven Gesamtgefühl bei. Natürlich enthält "Octagram" zugleich alle charakteristischen Elemente und Sounds, die FÏX8:SËD8 ausmachen: Das Album wirkt ebenso spielfreudig, komplex und melodisch wie seine Vorgänger. Das Schlagzeug hämmert sogar etwas härter als zuvor, während die Vocals auf „Octagram“ noch vielseitiger erscheinen. Die Sprech-Samples bestehen hauptsächlich aus Rezitationen der letzten Worte von zum Tode verurteilten Menschen. Mit "Octagram" erweitern die Electro Industrial Shootingstars FÏX8:SËD8 einmal mehr sowohl die Grenzen ihrer eigenen musikalischen Horizonte als auch die der gesamten Szene. I don’t feel very brave today
Sixteen years in and White Lies are still hitting their mark with precision, poise, and just the right dose of paranoia. The band has arrived at a place where they are comfortable enough not to flinch. “We finally know what we’re doing,” Harry McVeigh says, and on Night Light’s closer, In The Middle, that confidence barrels forward.

White Lies wrote much of the record in McVeigh’s flat, tossing the bells and whistles in favor of a stripped-back focus on chemistry. That ethos runs deep in the song and video alike: no padding, no polish, just punch. For the recording sessions, they brought in keyboardist Seth Evans, not as a sideman, but as an engine. You can hear it in the closing minutes of In The Middle…a controlled detonation carried out with precision.

In The Middle lands like a jolt of cold voltage to the spine, clicking into gear with a Motorik stomp, synths that shimmer like lit fuses, and basslines that march. The track unspools with tightly wound urgency, then blows open into an instrumental finish that feels less like a fadeout and more like liftoff. There’s nothing tentative here. It’s the sound of three musicians locked into something primal, finishing each other’s phrases without speaking.

It’s the kind of song you play when the night’s worn thin and the city’s still humming. A bittersweet confession wrapped in bruised romance and broken promises. It’s about love that limps along, mistakes you can’t take back, and the quiet ache of not feeling heroic. Two people circling the wreckage, still offering each other the keys.

But it’s the video, shot by longtime collaborator Andreas Nilsson in a 24-hour whirlwind through Bangkok, that lights a cigarette and throws the match. It’s all wide eyes and wider chaos: a fever dream stitched from streetlight paranoia, fractured identities, and elegant menace. The result is a surreal and clandestine work of art, the kind of Lychian thing that makes you double-check your pulse and your passport.

“It’s as stylish and as unsettling a music video as you are likely to see,” the band gushes. “It’s pure cinema, we love it.”

There’s nothing nostalgic about the reunion with Nilsson; it’s a mirror turned sideways. If their early videos leaned theatrical, this one leans dangerous. It’s both high fashion and fever break, a surreal blur of urban intensity that feels just grounded enough to unsettle.

This is White Lies fully awake. Clear-eyed, quick-footed, and finally, gloriously in the middle of exactly where they need to be.

“What would dance music on Dune’s planet Arrakis sound like?” – Steven Archer
Stoneburner returns bearing artillery and attitude, backed this time by producer Mark Alan Miller (Out Out), conjuring musical demolition from a smoking cauldron of ruin. Baltimore’s Steven Archer, known best from Ego Likeness, casts aside comfortable conventions to navigate more treacherous territory. With Miller steering the chaos toward structured collapse, each track unfolds like encrypted sabotage; a controlled explosion in slow motion.

Archer labels his latest output as Post-Industrial, though genre labels are weak defenses against a record hell-bent on inciting chaos. This music is forged from discarded metal, concrete dust, and rogue code—a dark prayer whispered through gritted teeth at civilization’s twilight hour.

Opening strong with C4 Amore, Archer channels visceral industrial dread that evokes Ministry’s sinister mechanized rhythms and the nihilistic bite of Nine Inch Nails. Vocals grind forth in rusted agony; melodies pulse like a dying city’s irregular heartbeat.



His references to Lovecraft’s dreamy Celephaïs transform hopeful escapism into something unsettling. Archer’s Celephaïs is corrupted, turning dreams into corrosive addictions, idealism rotting into despair. These twisted echoes of Lovecraft’s luminous realms emerge tarnished, decayed, and scarred by modernity’s poisons…distorted, fierce, and uncompromising.

Exhale grapples brutally with identity’s fragility, articulating a relentless self-destructive cycle through raw lyrical candor and imagery sharp enough to pierce armour. The album’s closer, 29 Silver Nails, descends into paranoid hallucination: locked doors, fungal decay, and haunted architecture. Each word drips cold dread, every metaphor a specter. Archer here constructs an emotional house of horrors…bleakly beautiful, structurally doomed.

C4 AMORE by Stoneburner

Stoneburner fuses science fiction with political and personal reflections, ranging from literary homages (Donna Tartt, Peter Watts) to social issues like neurodiversity, abortion rights, and anti-racism. With 2021’s Apex Predator, produced by John Fryer and marking Archer’s debut on COP International Records, Stoneburner pivoted toward introspective lyricism and away from club-centric tracks, reflecting deeper on human experience. Beyond Stoneburner, Archer is a multidisciplinary creator: a Bram Stoker Award-nominated illustrator and graphic novelist (Red in Tooth and Claw), the mind behind electronica project Hopeful Machines, and composer of a NASA mission soundtrack. Collaborations include remixes and joint works with Information Society, Stabbing Westward, and The Joy Thieves. Stoneburner’s extensive discography…early albums like The No Chamber (2014), conceptual EPs such as Songs in the Key of Arrakis, and 2017’s The Agony Box, cemented Archer’s distinct blend of sci-fi mythology and dark electronics.

In late 2025, the project launches the Post-Industrial Occult North American tour, opening in Montreal, combining high-energy performances with dystopian visuals and multimedia elements, promising an immersive showcase of the new album and setting the stage for additional tour dates and festivals into 2026.

In Stoneburner’s hands, collapse becomes not a warning but an invitation—a provocation to dance on the ashes, to savor the ruin. Miller’s disciplined hand complements Archer’s fury. Together, they’ve created music that revels in its darkness and reminds us the apocalypse is best experienced through sound.

Emerging from beneath the floorboards of Cincinnati’s underground music scene, Louse is a band that is garnering a reputation for authentically conjuring the spirit of ’80s post-punk, gothic rock, dream pop, and alternative rock. Their acclaimed 2024 album, Passions Like Tar, captures this old-school spirit perfectly, channeling the melodic elegance of The Chameleons and the searing urgency of mid-80s Killing Joke, threaded seamlessly with the touching pop sensibilities reminiscent of French coldwave stalwarts Asylum Party. It is a record that unfolds as a refined interplay of brooding atmosphere and lush melody, each song meticulously shaped and alive with haunting beauty.

Yet, the band’s new single, Sugar In The Wound, while brimming with bittersweet romance, diverges from the album’s weighty gloom, introducing surreal imagery that wavers precariously between dreams and devastation. Teeth fall, planes plummet, and love is agonizingly sweet—an affection that simultaneously wounds and soothes, delivered with aching detachment. This track, initially alien amidst the LP’s brooding mood, blossoms into a finely balanced piece: brief, bittersweet, and brilliantly out of step with its siblings.

Louse’s lineup: Sam Souders (vocals, guitars), Danny Lovell (bass), Connor Simpson (guitars), Max Enslen (keys, vocals, percussion), and Bradley Kennedy (drums), carefully choreographs an emotional ballet of reverb-laden hooks and synth-washed elegance. There’s intentionality in their contrast, shaping a tracklist that pivots from somber to sharply focused pop.

Matt Stalf’s video evokes the vintage charisma of late 80s MTV, complete with curious Jell-o dinners, roses, and wood-paneled rooms, dreamily navigating the uncanny spaces between surrealism and nostalgia. This visual counterpart reinforces Louse’s embrace of the past without becoming entombed within it, a mirror of memory’s imperfect edges.

These secret selves whisper truths only we can hear, waiting for moments when courage outweighs fear, ready to step into the light (if only briefly) to show the world who we truly are beneath it all.

Dot Wall bursts out of Albuquerque’s underground, a self-described mutant artist wielding industrial electronics like a mad scientist in a futuristic lab. Pleather, silicon, and chains might restrain temporarily, but Wall inevitably breaks free with minimalist mania and razor-sharp electro beats. Navigating realms between sci-fi minimal-wave and pulse-quickening EBM, Dot Wall’s live presence thrills behind a veil of anonymity, choreographing dancefloor chaos with sinister precision.

Dot Wall’s newest track, Implode, drops ahead of the self-released EP Source of Pain, set for release Friday, August 1st. The song’s high-octane intensity delivers an electro pulse that grips tightly and refuses release. Wall dives into enigmatic territory, the song accompanied by a stark, unsettling video: BDSM aesthetics stripped back to their raw essence. A lone figure, masked and mysterious, occupies the stark darkness, evoking visceral emotional shifts.

“I wanted to depict the many shapeshifting psyches that people hide inside themselves,” Dot Wall explains of the video’s provocative imagery. “Sometimes we wear our masks on the inside, in the darkest places.”

That duality of masked secrecy and bold expression marks Implode as more than just another electro-industrial track. It transforms into an exploration of internal identities, a daring excavation of the masks people don beneath their daily façades. Inside every one of us is a room full of mirrors, reflecting faces we show the world and the ones we don’t dare reveal. Beneath easy smiles and casual nods, deeper selves twist and turn, quietly shifting shapes in shadows we rarely visit. Our private truths live hidden, wearing masks not for others, but for ourselves, concealed in the darkest corners of our minds. These secret selves whisper truths only we can hear, waiting for moments when courage outweighs fear, ready to step into the light (if only briefly) to show the world who we truly are beneath it all.

Dot Wall bursts out of Albuquerque’s underground, a self-described mutant artist wielding industrial electronics like a mad scientist in a futuristic lab. Pleather, silicon, and chains might restrain temporarily, but Wall inevitably breaks free with minimalist mania and razor-sharp electro beats. Navigating realms between sci-fi minimal-wave and pulse-quickening EBM, Dot Wall’s live presence thrills behind a veil of anonymity, choreographing dancefloor chaos with sinister precision.

Dot Wall’s newest track, Implode, drops ahead of the self-released EP Source of Pain, set for release Friday, August 1st. The song’s high-octane intensity delivers an electro pulse that grips tightly and refuses release. Wall dives into enigmatic territory, the song accompanied by a stark, unsettling video: BDSM aesthetics stripped back to their raw essence. A lone figure, masked and mysterious, occupies the stark darkness, evoking visceral emotional shifts.

“I wanted to depict the many shapeshifting psyches that people hide inside themselves,” Dot Wall explains of the video’s provocative imagery. “Sometimes we wear our masks on the inside, in the darkest places.”

That duality of masked secrecy and bold expression marks Implode as more than just another electro-industrial track. It transforms into an exploration of internal identities, a daring excavation of the masks people don beneath their daily façades. At HCA Festivals, the city’s week-long tribute brimming with theatre, music, and radiant street spectacles, Bolding’s evocative HCA Suite manifests twice on August 23, freely inviting festival-goers into a vivid confrontation with Andersen’s spectral imagination.

The performance unfurls from Andersen’s deathbed, his characters summoned from pages to guide the author on an ethereal farewell tour. Andersen’s world is a harsh one, but each of his beloved (and often grim) tales teaches us about the fragility of humanity: Gerda and Kay navigate frozen enchantments, Andersen’s shadow overwhelms its master, and a fir tree learns the harsh truth of ambition. Mothers plead with Death, mermaids yearn silently beneath turbulent waves, and fragile match girls envision warmth against winter’s bite.

With the HCA Suite, Hans Christian Andersen is reimagined through synth pulses, gothic grandeur, punk edges, and folk echoes, resonates through oriental flourishes and 8-bit nostalgia. paying homage to classical motifs Andersen himself cherished.

Bolding, voice and fingers dancing across synthesizers and a nostalgic Commodore 64, shares the stage with Alex Anarki’s electronic elegance and Kaos Korrosion’s additional vocal depth. Penelope Ramon and Jannik Juhl’s striking visual orchestrations flood the stage in laser beams, moody illuminations, and intricate costumes, enhancing Andersen’s visions with illustrative power.

Following the suite’s final notes, DJs Sue She and Olivia Obskur extend the night’s musical enchantments, spinning records deep into the Odense evening. Andersen’s timeless creations thus reverberate anew, celebrated with a contemporary heartbeat that echoes quietly yet insistently through the pulse of the present.

Das Debüt seiner Solo-Karriere ist zugleich sowohl in musikalischer als auch lyrischer Hinsicht ein starkes Statement zu seiner künftigen Ausrichtung als Künstler. "1984" bietet eine faszinierende Verschmelzung von feinen Retro-Synth-Sounds, EBM und Synth-Wave mit zeitgenössischen elektronischen Elementen, die sogar mit einer Prise seines früheren Lebens als Rock- und Metal-Musiker gewürzt ist. DERO GOI, der schon immer als herausragender Songwriter gefeiert wurde, hat sein musikalisches Handwerk noch weiter verfeinert. Die Songs dieses umfangreichen Werks werden ihre Hörer zum Tanzen und Mitsingen bringen und sich als Ohrwürmer in den Köpfen festsetzen, wo sie noch jahrelang feiern. DERO GOI bleibt dabei seinem unbeugsamen Willen treu, als nonkonformistischer Künstler zu arbeiten. Sein Coming-out als wiedergeborener Christ, der jeder organisierten Religion nach wie vor kritisch gegenübersteht, und seine libertäre politische Einstellung haben ein breites Spektrum von Reaktionen hervorgerufen. Dazu gehören leider auch massive Hindernisse bei der Suche nach einem Label und einem Booking-Agenten. Zudem musste der Künstler erleben, dass bereits bestätigte Konzerte nur aufgrund seiner Meinung wieder abgesagt wurden. Das wirft die unbequeme Frage auf: Wie tolerant ist eigentlich eine Szene, die sich rühmt, für jede Gesellschaftsschicht und jeden Lebensstil offen zu sein, wenn diese Werte einer kritischen Probe unterzogen werden? Natürlich haben auch Worte Konsequenzen und jede Freiheit hat ihre Grenzen, aber was ist mit einem Künstler, der fest auf dem Boden der Verfassung seines Landes steht und keine Gesetze bricht? Beinhaltet Freiheit nicht auch das Recht auf Widerspruch gegen den Zeitgeist? Dass DERO GOI bei Themen eine andere Meinung vertritt, ist kein Verbrechen. Bevor der Musiker, der am 16. April 1970 als Stephan Musiol in Wolfsburg geboren wurde, im Jahr 1989 OOMPH! gründete, spielte er bereits im Alter von 15 Jahren in einer Band mit seinem Freund Thomas Döppner (alias OOMH!-Gitarrist und Mitbegründer Crap), als beide noch Gymnasiasten waren. Seine musikalischen Einflüsse zeigen einen offenen Geist für stilistische Vielfalt. DERO GOI zählt unter anderem D.A.F., NITZER EBB, FRONT 242, THE CURE, FAITH NO MORE, KILLING JOKE, EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN, AC/DC, DEPECHE MODE, EXTRABREIT, KRAFTWERK, THE BEATLES, ELVIS PRESLEY und ABBA zu seinen musikalischen Vorbildern. DERO GOI hat mit seinem neuen Werk einen Weg eingeschlagen, der elektronischer ist als die meisten seiner bisherigen Songs. "1984" ist das Zeugnis eines Künstlers, der sich einer breiten Palette diverser Einflüsse bedient, der aber zugleich auch seine weithin respektierte Fähigkeit, äußerst eingängige Melodien zu schreiben, noch weiterentwickelt hat. Im 25. Jubiläumsjahr des Werkes, veröffentlichen MESH ihren lange vergriffenen Meilenstein in einer exklusiven, randvoll mit Bonus-Material erweiterten Artbook Edition neu. Die britische Dark Synthpop Band wurde im Jahr 1991 gegründet, als Sänger und Gitarrist Mark Hockings und Keyboarder und Sänger Richard Silverthorn bei einem Konzert Freundschaft schlossen und musikalische Gemeinsamkeiten entdeckten, die zur Gründung von MESH führten. Diese künstlerische Partnerschaft hat seitdem das Vermächtnis von MESH bestimmt. Die sprudelnde kreative Synergie von MESH entsteht seit den Anfangstagen aus einer stark komplementären Rollenverteilung: Richard Silverthorn komponiert die Musik, während Mark Hockings aufrüttelnde und tiefgründige Texte verfasst, die den Klangwelten Emotionen und Tiefgang verleihen. Die musikalische Reise von MESH begann mit der Veröffentlichung der "Fragile" EP im Jahr 1994 und dem Debütalbum „In this Place Forever“ im Jahr 1996. Die Major-Veröffentlichung von "Who Watches over Me" im Jahr 2002 katapultierte MESH erneut ins Rampenlicht und markierte einen weiteren Höhepunkt ihrer illustren Karriere. Eine Welle der Popularität in ganz Europa, und insbesondere in Deutschland, ließ die britische Band auf allen Festival-Billings weiter nach oben steigen. "Automation Baby" (2013) erreichte Platz 33 der deutschen Albumcharts und dominierte die Alternative Charts in ganz Europa. Mit "Looking Skyward" (2016) kletterten MESH in noch größere Höhen und erreichten Platz 12 der deutschen Charts. Aktuell arbeiten Mark Hockings und Richard Silverthorn am nächsten MESH-Studioalbum. -> >;Mit "The Machine in the Ghost" erreichen HAUJOBB den beeindruckenden Meilenstein des zehnten Studioalbums. Auch ihr neuestes Werk unterscheidet sich von all seinen Vorgängern. Das derzeit in Leipzig residierende Duo verweigert sich weiterhin standhaft jeder Wiederholung. "The Machine in the Ghost" unterscheidet sich bereits durch die Verwendung von Feldaufnahmen, um die Sounds für dieses Album zu erzeugen. Um die gewünschten Effekte zu erzielen, haben HAUJOBB bewusst auf eine Mischung aus Software und Hardware gesetzt – letzteres in Form von mit Alltagsgegenständen erzeugten Tönen. Diese symbolische Anspielung auf eine Zeit, in der es weniger Software und mehr analoges Drehen an den Reglern gab, ergänzt das Thema von "The Machine in the Ghost" um einen Hauch von Retro-Feeling – ohne jede nostalgische Verklärung. Das Album dreht sich um die spannungsgeladene Beziehung zwischen analog und digital, Geist und Materie. Als sich HAUJOBB im ostwestfälischen Bielefeld zunächst zu einem Trio formierten, kamen ihre Haupteinflüsse noch aus der Vancouver-Schule des Industrial – und speziell SKINNY PUPPY sowie FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY. Dies ist auf ihrem ersten Album "Homes lt; Gardens" (1993) noch hörbar, doch schon bald wurden HAUJOBB selbst als Aushängeschilder eines modernen elektronischen Industrial-Sounds angesehen. Auf den folgenden Alben "Freeze Frame Reality" (1995) und "Solutions for a Small Planet" (1996) entfernten sich die Deutschen zunehmend von den kanadischen Einflüssen, indem sie damit begannen, IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) mit Industrial und EBM zu verschmelzen. Damit katapultierten sich die Deutschen mitten in die internationale Szene und verschafften sich sogar in den USA einen Kultstatus. Auch nachdem HAUJOBB zum Duo mutiert waren, blieben sie einflussreich und insbesondere ihr 2011 in Eigenregie veröffentlichtes Album "New World March" gilt als weitere Großtat. Mit "The Machine in the Ghost" schlagen HAUJOBB ein neues spannendes Kapitel in ihrer bemerkenswerten Karriere auf. Unmittelbar zu Beginn der nächsten industriellen und kreativen Revolution, die der rasante Aufstieg der künstlichen Intelligenz auszulösen verspricht, legen HAUJOBB ihre metaphorischen musikalischen Finger erneut direkt an den Puls der Zeit.-> >;

Das Trio spricht sich lyrisch klar gegen Frauenfeindlichkeit, sexuelle Diskriminierung und Umweltzerstörung aus. BEBORN BETON wurden 1989 von Sänger Stefan Netschio, Keyboarder und Schlagzeuger Stefan Tillmann sowie Keyboarder Michael Wagner gegründet. Die drei Deutschen setzten sich erfolgreich zum Ziel, den Synth-Pop relevant zu halten und ihn um wichtige Inhalte zu bereichern. Nach den ersten beiden regulären Alben "Tybalt" (1993) und "Concrete Ground" (1994) trafen BEBORN BETON in ihrer neuen Label-Heimat auf namhafte Acts wie WOLFSHEIM und DE/VISION. Nachdem sich die Elektro-Musiker in Deutschland fest etabliert hatten, expandierten die Drei mit dem 1996 erschienenen Album "Nightfall" ins Ausland, wo sie ebenso wie mit den folgenden Scheiben "Truth" (1997) und "Fake" (1999) bei Kritikern und Fans auf große Gegenliebe stießen. Spätestens mit dem im Jahr 2000 erschienenen Werk "Rückkehr zum Eisplaneten" hatten sich BEBORN BETON in ihrer Szene fest als Headliner positioniert und in allen Hochburgen der elektronischen Musik rund um den Globus gespielt. Doch die anstrengenden Touren und die kreativ äußerst anspruchsvolle Veröffentlichung so vieler exzellenter Alben in kurzer Folge forderten ihren Tribut. Nachdem die Band "Tales from Another World" (2002) vorgelegt hatte, worauf sie unter anderem eine ausgedehnte Konzertreise quer durch die USA absolvierte, legten BEBORN BETON eine längere Pause ein. Erst 13 Jahre später kehrten BEBORN BETON zur großen Freude und Überraschung ihrer immer noch zahlreichen Anhängerschaft mit einem neuen Album auf Dependent Records zurück. "A Worthy Compensation" (2015) wurde von allen einschlägigen Magazinen wie Sonic Seducer und Orkus mit Lob überschüttet. Da BEBORN BETON nicht in einen unerbittlichen Produktionszyklus zurückfallen wollten, nahm sich das Trio genügend Zeit, um ein weiteres Meisterwerk zu komponieren. "Darkness Falls Again" hat all die köstlichen Zutaten, die Synth-Pop so großartig machen: Eingängige Songs, die die Beine zucken lassen. Eine Prise Melancholie. Eine Dosis Ironie. Aber auch eine Messerspitze Wut. BEBORN BETON haben mit ihrem letzten Album wieder Musik mit Aussagen und Verstand abgeliefert, was sich auf der EP "To the Stars" nahtlos fortsetzt. Als Beborn Betons Vertrag mit ihrem damaligen Label Strangeways zur Jahrtausendwende auslief, war das Trio frei, sich neu zu orientieren. Bis dahin hatten sich die Essener Stefan Netschio (Gesang), Michael Wagner (Elektronik) und Stefan Tillmann (Programming, Elektronik) als erfolgreicher Act zwischen elektronischem Pop und EBM etabliert, der mit Hits wie ‚Another World', ‚Lost', ‚Little Robot' oder ‚Torture' in Europa wie Nordamerika tourte. -> >;
Während ihrer darauffolgenden Pause reifte ein Plan: ein kompromissloses Album zu schaffen, sowohl in kompositorischer als auch produktionstechnischer Hinsicht. So wie diese Vision Gestalt annahm, setzen Beborn Beton sie derart konsequent um, dass es nachträglich Respekt verdient. Über sieben Jahre lang feilten sie an neuen Songs, ohne qualitative Eingeständnisse zu machen, weshalb sie gezielt nach einem geeigneten Engineer und Studioproduzenten suchten. Sie gibt Dir etwas Besonderes für Deine Bemühungen zurück und baut dich auf, wenn die Aussichten nicht so gut sind. Für uns heißt das, die Welt mit Freunden zu bereisen und auf Bühnen zu stehen, wo man uns sehen will, nicht zu vergessen immer noch in der Lage zu sein, große Songs zu schreiben. Das Album zündet zwar schon beim ersten Durchlauf, entfaltet sein ganzes Potenzial aber erst nach mehrmaligem Hören. Zudem lassen sich trotz der langen Pause der Band zahlreiche Rückgriffe auf ihre stilistische Vergangenheit ausmachen. Dank Stefan Netschios markanter Stimme und Stefan Tillmanns versiertem Songwriting entsteht in jedem Song eine ureigene Atmosphäre ohne Hast oder Zwänge, was in diesem Genre eine Seltenheit darstellt. So schlagen Beborn Beton wie selbstverständlich eine Brücke zwischen den 1980ern und Produktion der Gegenwart. -> >;
