24.09.2025 - Stockholm Duo Repeat Unleash a Blistering Salvo of Punk Anthems with “Celebrate” EP

The modern age, if we can even call it modern, is a circus of absurdities teetering between tragedy and vaudeville. Repeat, a Stockholm punk/post-punk duo (occasionally joined live by bassist Sanna), confront this chaos head-on with their new EP Celebrate. Recorded at Studio Sickan in Malmö, the five tracks play like clenched fists and uneasy laughs—short, sharp bursts of refusal that channel monotony, political absurdity, and personal struggle into anthems that dare the listener to keep moving.
“Celebrate is about facing all the absurdity and frustration we carry, but also about refusing to give in,” the band explains. “It’s a record about holding on.” That insistence comes through not as sentimentality, but as stubborn resistance: sarcastic, brash, and brimming with the spirit of punk dissent.
The title track launches the EP with distorted guitars and bombastic drums that evoke the sound of the Buzzcocks and Sex Pistols. Lyrically, it’s about survival in the face of dismissal: “Said you were nothing, tried to cut you short… Why not celebrate?” The refrain insists on victory through endurance, twisting pain into a rallying cry. Rather than a hollow cheer, “Celebrate” feels like sarcasm sharpened into protest—punk irony and punk triumph in the same breath.
Built around a catchy riff and buoyant vocal melody, “Nothing New” skewers the recycling of lies and the endless spin cycle of distorted narratives. The lyrics (“Painting the picture / Telling us lies now / Running in circles”) condemn the spectacle of repetition as stagnation, echoing both Euro-punk sneer and L.A. punk venom. Its chorus—“Sick of it all, spinning lies and pictures, knowing that this is nothing new”—becomes a bitter anthem for the information-saturated present.
The most propulsive pogo-ready track of the bunch, “Frames” channels the dive-bar squat-show energy of early Buzzcocks. Though its lyrics are clipped and direct, their thrust is clear: pressure, guilt, and the suffocating structures that box us in. Musically tight and lyrically confrontational, it delivers catharsis through raw insistence.
Driven by a galloping rhythm, “Day After Day” evokes the intensity of early Gun Club crossed with the fury of Dead Kennedys. Its lyrics hammer at cycles of struggle: “Day after day it’s the battle you can’t escape… Again, again, the defeat when it’s losing control.” This is repetition as punishment, monotony as a weapon. The song becomes a soundtrack to alienated labor, its relentless refrain mocking the grind even as it mirrors it.
The EP closes with its shortest, sharpest jab. “Me and Paul Auster” almost veers into pop territory with its infectious melody, but its brevity and absurdity flip into protest by parody. Like a grunge-inflected chant, the track collapses the existential cycles hinted at throughout the EP into a wink and a punchline, refusing closure while delivering one last shock of energy.
Listen to the EP below or on Spotify, and order it via Bandcamp.
Celebrate by Repeat
While guitars buzz and drums pound, the politics lie in the refusal to soften edges. Celebrate thrives on brevity, abrasiveness, and an unwillingness to be commodified. It’s a record that insists frustration can be sculpted into form, not wasted in nihilism. Repeat sit in dialogue with traditions stretching from The Clash to Killing Joke, yet their voice is distinctly contemporary: bound to absurd cycles and sharpened into urgent survival.

23.09.2025 - Odonis Odonis Stare Down The Chaos of a World on the Brink With Post-Punk Anthem “Hijacked” — New Self-Titled Album Out in November!

I Gave You My Word
Now I Wish You Were Dead
I Pledged My Faith
Until The Colours Fade
Canadian outfit Odonis Odonis return with their sixth album, a self-titled release that signals both rebirth and reckoning. Finding its home on the new label Royal Mountain, the record channels pressure and possibility into something immediate and tangible. From the opening notes of the lead single, “Hijacked,” the duo sounds like men staring down the chaos of the present with sharpened focus and bruised determination.
Clattering guitars collide with fervent layered vocals, a bassline that penetrates the marrow, and a drumbeat that pounds like a nervous pulse. The song circles despair, painting a world fractured by greed and division, yet reaching toward connection. There are vows broken, faith eroded, and desire strained, but beneath the turmoil lies a raw insistence on love, on unity, on survival against the encroaching dark.
“Hijacked,” says vocalist and guitarist Constantin Tzenos, “is about the tension of a world on the brink. It reflects on a pivotal moment for humanity, a warning against surrendering to destructive, regressive forces. It channels the feeling of being stalked by a looming darkness that’s always just behind us, but the message is clear: the future is still unwritten, but only if we refuse to be hijacked by fear and chaos.”
That sentiment is more than just an artistic conceit; it’s a lived experience. Odonis Odonis are not careerists sequestered in rehearsal rooms; they are working musicians trying to survive the pressure cooker of modern life. Tzenos juggles the precarious world of film and television post-production, fending off AI’s encroachment while navigating fatherhood. Dean Tzenos and Denholm Whale have been piecing together their art against a backdrop of inflation, gig-economy precarity, and the constant churn of survival. Whale himself is immersed in the all-hustle/no-security realm of independent concert promotion. The weight of those realities saturates the music, lending urgency to every beat and phrase.
The accompanying video for Hijacked, directed by Ryan Faist, underscores that immediacy. A darkened club, dancers in slow motion, the swirl of fog, and the sense that time itself has collapsed into a single surreal frame. It’s as though the camera has wandered into a fevered memory, part rave, part requiem.
Odonis Odonis may be confronting a collapsing modern world, but they do so with a spark of insistence. Their music embodies both the ache of division and the desire for connection. In their hands, the future feels precarious, but also charged with possibility.
Watch the video for “Hijacked” below:
The best way to grasp Odonis Odonis’ body of work is to picture a sprawling nightclub. Each room holds a different obsession: psychedelic post-punk in one corner, electronic body music in another, but together they create an unbroken current of invention. This self-titled album doesn’t abandon those rooms so much as lock them together in a more seamless experience. Where 2023’s ICON EP felt like a showcase of guests: A Place to Bury Strangers, Tobacco, SUUNS, this new release strips away external decoration. What’s left is the core of the band: restless, direct, and unflinchingly present.
Odonis Odonis’ new self-titled album is out on November 15th.

23.09.2025 - Sean Nicholas Savage Conjures 80s Pop Nostalgia With Johnny Dynamite Directed Video for “I Love Everything About You” — Tour Dates Announced!

Sean Nicholas Savage frequently blurs the line between diarist and dramatist, but on his latest tour-de-force, The Knowing, he delivers something dazzling in its simplicity and startling in its daring. The Canadian singer, long a cult figure for his prolific output and theatrical stage presence, returns with a collection steeped in sincerity yet staged with pop’s playful artifice.
With “I Love Everything About You,” Savage drapes his voice across soft synth hues and buoyant rhythms, conjuring a long-lost optimism from mid-to-late ’80s radio without slipping into parody. Echoes of Erasure’s fragile grandeur linger, alongside the earnest lift of a theme song ushering in a Friday night sitcom. The unabashed sweetness of Cyndi Lauper or Nik Kershaw shimmers through, and – dare we say – it even brushes against the exuberance of New Kids on the Block. What makes the song radiant, though, is not the lineage of its references but the Earnest way Savage inhabits them, his vocal delivery both conversational and trembling with feeling.
I Love Everything About You is a study in language itself: a playful riddle of repetitions where every phrase circles back to the word know. It’s wordplay as devotion, turning linguistic excess into intimacy. (Trust me, if this guy loves your lousiest photos just because you’re in them, he’s a keeper!)
This openness extends to the visuals. The tender video by Johnny Dynamite reveals the core of the album: an ode to devotion stripped of irony. Watching him wander the shoreline, enumerating small joys, feels almost radical in its clarity. In a world smothered with suspicion and sarcasm, Savage insists on affection without disguise. The artwork, a collaboration with Lulannie, was improvised en route to a New Year’s Eve party, but the candid shots carry the same tone as the music: spontaneous, intimate, carefully unguarded. It’s a gesture of making beauty from the everyday, transforming the walk to a celebration into part of the record’s mythology.
Savage, despite his name, does not shrink from love songs in their most unabashed form. Instead, he leans into their excess and finds renewal in their transparency. Pop here is neither ironic nor naïve; it is philosophical theater, a way of grasping meaning through melody. Savage delivers a song that reminds us that desire and tenderness are inseparable.

In the spring of 2024, Sean Nicholas Savage recorded the first version of The Knowing in Edmonton, Canada. He returned to the basement where he once pressed his ear against a silent needle to hear records in secret, the speakers muted so the rest of the house could sleep.
For this new chapter, Savage invited others into his orbit. There’s a tender duet with Marci, a handful of tracks colored by Belgian songwriter David Numwami’s guitar, and a co-written moment with JJ Weihl (better known as Discovery Zone) on Pink Bouquet.
The record also marks a series of departures. For the first time, Savage steps outside the Montreal imprint Arbutus Records, long his home alongside artists like Marci and Das Beat. Instead, The Knowing arrives through a transatlantic partnership between Philadelphia’s Born Losers Records and Berlin’s Mansions & Millions.
This album is Savage’s strongest collection of ballads yet: songs steeped in boyband-era yearning, cinematic in scope, and threaded with a renewed embrace of beats and duets. These are compositions that sound like memories unfolding in real time, both fragile and sweeping.
“What is The Knowing about?” he asks. “I tell you that I don’t know in the song. That’s almost all that I say, is that I don’t know. Do you believe in spells? There’s a lot of tomfoolery going on with that song, a lot of tomfuckery..”
With that mischievous wink, Savage pulls apart certainty itself, leaving listeners with a record that feels like both a question and an answer.
The Knowing is out now via Born Losers Records and Mansions & Millions. Listen to I Love Everything About You below and order the album here. You can also order The Knowing on vinyl here.

23.09.2025 - Between Dance and Dread — Portland’s Princess Ugly Unveils Video for Existential Darkwave Track “The Out”

Just pointing at words
Desperate to undo feeling this way
Your sins, brighter than the sun
Your sins, better than what came before
As darkness settles like a shroud across the calendar and headlines accumulate like ash, we grope for cracks in the facade that might lead us out. That search—futile yet unyielding—beats at the core of Princess Ugly’s new single, The Out. The song doesn’t arrive as a polished monolith, but as a fractured communiqué: a piece built from jagged edges and deliberate silences, as if assembled in dim light by trembling hands.
From Portland, Oregon, J. Christopher-Rome and Christopher Moncrieffe sculpt a vision where dance and dread coexist uneasily. Rome delivers words like a prophet tired of his own sermon: measured, bitten off, sometimes spat, sometimes swallowed. His voice hovers at the threshold between theatre and confession. Moncrieffe builds the environment around it, beats locked in angular repetition, synths stretched taut, guitars curdled into sparks of static. Together, their tension conjures a landscape that is both bare and intoxicating, something danced upon with hesitant feet.
Cat Powell-Hoffmann lends her voice, weaving through the composition with sharp clarity, a counterweight that exposes fragility beneath the structure. The interplay of voices moves like two currents clashing, each tugging the other toward a different shore. Beneath them lies a rhythm less about celebration than survival, an invitation to move even while weighed down by doubt.
The lyrics cut like inscriptions on stone, opaque existential musings that are more concerned with ritualistic ponderence than with scutibility. Phrases circle around futility, sin, decay, and power, repeating like mantras until their meaning collapses into sound. “The out” becomes less an escape and more an echo chamber, a reminder that every door swings back to where you began. There is no absolution, only a compulsion to keep looking.
“Dark days. We feel buried under endless unnerving headlines,” says the band. “We cling to past mistakes and regrets. We romanticize. We make excuses. We look for clarity and resolution, often finding neither. Even as the things we perceive as negative can sometimes light our way with an unsettling brilliance, we look away. Tear it all up. Everyone is looking for their out.”
The Out feels as if being caught in a procession: drums marking the pace, voices overlapping in dispute, steps uncertain yet compelled forward. The song bears the weight of philosophy without bowing under it, pulling abstractions into the body, into the blood. With this unsettling stomper, Princess Ugly inhabits their name fully: offering no easy glamour, only the strange beauty of unease.

The Out by Princess Ugly
Princess Ugly began in 2006 as a largely solitary vision from J. Christopher-Rome, but by the following year Christopher Moncrieffe had entered the fold, turning Princess Ugly into a dialogue rather than a monologue. Together they unveiled two full-lengths: The Past, One Second At A Time (2010) and It Should Be Clear By Now (2012) before falling silent. Nearly a decade later, the silence broke. From 2021 onward the duo pressed into darker territory, releasing a run of singles and EPs that carved deeper into post-punk and goth terrain: Hunger (2021), An Individual Soul (2023), Break Every Room (2023), Death After Life (EP, 2023), and Bring the Axes (EP, 2024). Their return also carried them beyond their own catalogue, with an appearance on Belgium label Spleen+’s Resurgence (2025), a sprawling post-punk compilation box set.

Frontman Fernando Ribeiro sagt dazu:

23.09.2025 - The Cure Add Austria’s Nova Rock as Second Headlining Date for 2026 Festival Itinerary

The Cure have just confirmed their second live date of 2026: a headlining slot at Austria’s Nova Rock Festival on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Pannonia Fields in Nickelsdorf. The announcement arrives alongside Austrian press reports naming the year’s complete set of headliners.
This builds on last week’s news that The Cure will close out Rock en Seine in Paris on Sunday, August 30, 2026—their first 2026 date to be revealed—marking a return to the French festival for the first time since 2019.
With a June anchor in Austria and an August capstone in France, the shape of summer 2026 is beginning to take form. Given the band’s pre‑pandemic habit of stacking multiple European festivals around marquee appearances, more continental announcements feel likely between June and late August. For now, everything announced points to more European dates before anything in North America is announced.
Nova Rock 2026 runs June 11–14 at Pannonia Fields II; festival and day passes (including VIP/Green Camping options) are available via the official channels via novarock.at.
Rundown: Who’s playing Nova Rock 2026 (by day)
Thursday, June 11 — Volbeat (headliner), plus Feine Sahne Fischfilet, Bad Omens, Kaleo, Trivium, Bilmuri, Lemo, D’Artagnan, Static‑X, Soft Play, and Mammoth (WVH).
Friday, June 12 — The Cure (headliner) with The Offspring, Ice Nine Kills, A Perfect Circle, Three Days Grace, Social Distortion, Breaking Benjamin, The Pretty Reckless, The Plot In You, Royal Republic, President, Thrown, Catch Your Breath, and Just Mustard.
Saturday, June 13 — Iron Maiden (headliner), joined by Sabaton, Alter Bridge, Roy Bianco & Die Abbrunzati Boys, Sepultura, All Time Low, Kanonenfieber, The Rasmus, Kublai Khan TX, and Future Palace. (
Sunday, June 14 — Bring Me The Horizon (headliner), plus Papa Roach, Architects, Hollywood Undead, and Malevolence.
Additional acts referenced across Austrian outlets include The Pretty Reckless, Papa Roach, Sabaton, Trivium, Bad Omens, Ice Nine Kills, Breaking Benjamin, Architects, Alter Bridge, Roy Bianco & Die Abbrunzati Boys, Sepultura, All Time Low, Feine Sahne Fischfilet, President, Lemo, The Rasmus, Future Palace, Just Mustard, Kaleo, and more.
Tickets for The Cure’s 2026 European Festival Live Dates:
Nova Rock (June 11–14, 2026, Nickelsdorf): Festival/day passes via novarock.at (also on sale at Eventim/Öticket).
Rock en Seine (Aug. 26–30, 2026, Paris): The Cure headlining Sunday, Aug. 30—details via rockenseine.com.
Meanwhile, speculation over new music from The Cure continues. In a January interview, Robert Smith said the follow‑up to 2024’s Songs of a Lost World is “virtually finished” and aimed for release “before next summer,” with a third, more experimental project also teased. Last June, the band released the 24-track charity remix set, Mixes of a Lost World, featuring reworks by Four Tet, Paul Oakenfold, Chino Moreno, Orbital, Trentemøller, and more, with recording royalties pledged to War Child UK.

23.09.2025 - FOXHAUNT: neue Alternative Rock Single „A New Beginning“ aus Leeds
Davor hat die Band die Single „The Daylight Between Us“ mitsamt Video-Clip veröffentlicht.

09.09.2025 - Icon Of Coil – Serenity Is The Devil
Icon Of Coil: ‘Serenity Is The Devil (25th Anniversary Remaster)’
Icon of Coil is a Norwegian futurepop/EBM band formed in 1997 by musician and producer Andy LaPlegua (who later went on to create Combichrist). Initially started as a solo project, it quickly grew into a full band with the addition of Sebastian Komor in 1999 and Christian Lund in 2000.
Blending driving electronic beats, melodic synth lines and moody yet accessible vocals, they swiftly became one of the most influential acts in the dark electronic genre. Their debut album, ‘Serenity Is The Devil’ (2000), charted in the Top 3 of the German DAC Alternative Chart, with its follow-up ‘The Soul Is In The Software’ (2002), reaching the coveted no. 1. ‘Machines Are Us’ (2004) further solidified their reputation for combining club-ready energy with introspective, futuristic themes.
Known for their energetic live performances and a polished electronic sound, Icon of Coil toured extensively across Europe and North America, often alongside other scene leaders such as VNV Nation and Covenant. While the band has been largely inactive since the mid-2000s as members pursued other projects, their work continues to inspire the futurepop, industrial and electronic music scenes.
‘Serenity Is The Devil’ had been licensed to Metropolis Records for North America upon its original release. The label is now making an expanded 25th anniversary remastered edition available worldwide on 2xLP translucent orange vinyl and digitally.
The vinyl package features the previously unreleased ‘SEC FOUR’.

Based in Flensburg, North Germany, Moons in Retrograde is the Nightmare Trip-Pop / Dark Alt-Electro Hyperpop project of US-born musician and multimedia performance artist, Kara Kuckoo.
The new Moons in Retrograde single and video, ‘Mirror Obscura’, is released today (Friday 5 September 2025) for Bandcamp Friday, launching presales for the project’s forthcoming debut album, The Third Side of the Coin.
Discussing the themes behind ‘Mirror Obscura’, Kara says:
“Carl Jung said, “Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves.” Mirror Obscura is about facing one’s own darkness through the infinite mirrors of other people. We tend to avoid and push away that which makes us uncomfortable, and therefore we cannot recognize ourselves within these mirrors. The song is about diving deep into the reflections, embracing one’s own dark side and accepting ourselves and others as flawed in the Mirror Obscura. When we can see ourselves fully, we can recognize all facets as being on a spectrum and not the perceived dualistic nature, which is the theme of The Third Side of The Coin. The video portrays the perceived duality of black and white and the madness within us as we avoid our own darkness. The elements of color are glimpses into the spectrum of wholeness. I especially wanted to shoot at sunrise because those moments of dusk and dawn are the magical spaces between day/light and night/dark, and the reflections of color and shadow dancing on the surface of the vast and deep ocean are the perfect representation of The Mirror Obscura.”
Performing as Moons in Retrograde since 2022, Kara Kuckoo is not only a musician but a theatrical multimedia installation artist, using costuming, staging, body-paint, dance, film and other media to create the dark and unsettling atmosphere of her online videos and unique performances.
Citing vast-ranging references to everyone from Heilung, IAMX, NIN, and The Birthday Massacre, Kara says: “Moons in Retrograde is about digging up and reflecting on buried emotions. Just like the moon, everyone and everything has a dark side and MIR dives into the dualistic nature of the universe and explores the tension of these two opposing forces. The music plays a tug of war between the perfection of universal chaos, the violent nature of life and an idealistic desire to bridge the growing gap in our polarized society. MIR weaves a soundscape which shines a light into the deepest corners of the mind and exposes the truth about the dark side of humanity while simultaneously discovering the core of the human soul.”
In the US, Kara’s previous music projects included prominent dark electro-industrial rock band In Winter, formed in her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio in 2003. Quickly becoming local favourites in the dark alternative scene, In Winter opened for The Birthday Massacre, Wednesday 13, The Genitorturers and others, and released one album, Murmur, in 2005, before Kara left the group the following year. She next embarked on the All Hamerican Tour (2006) as a backing vocalist with

Review Tomas Tulpe – In der Kantine gab es Bohnen Vor ein paar Tagen flatterte Tomas Tulpes neues Album „In der Kantine gab es Bohnen“ auf meinen Desktop. Tomas Wer? Tulpe. Tomas Tulpe.
