Dallas-based post-industrial noise rock outfit All Clean just dropped a music video for their track See What I’ve Done from their self-released debut album, Down from the Inner Work.

See What I’ve Done is a gritty gut punch of self-doubt laced with stubborn defiance. It speaks of a person wrestling with their fears and frustrations, feeling cornered but hell-bent on breaking free, no matter the fallout. It’s a tale of pure anger and steely resolve, a battle against forces that seek to shackle and destroy, even if it means standing alone in the wreckage. The eerie, high-pitched guitar strings and haunting chants evoke the terror of sleep paralysis and that relentless grip of small, insidious thoughts keeping you up at night. Guilt, dread, the creeping horror that you’ve crossed a line and are now the hunted—these feelings are laid bare in every note, driving home the sense that the fight for freedom is as much against oneself as it is against the world.

The nightmarish video, directed by Colton Batts, takes its cues from red and green lit Italian Giallo horror and the surreal stylings of David Lynch. Batts weaves a series of menacing, nonlinear vignettes, playing on slasher and supernatural horror tropes. The result is a chilling visual journey through an unsolved mystery, where fear lurks in every shadow, and the line between reality and nightmare blurs into oblivion.

Conceived in 2018 as a solo venture by multi-instrumentalist Zachary Edwards (Oil Boom, Son of Stan), All Clean digs deep into the gritty trenches of anxiety, using dissonant guitar riffs, eerie synth lines, grimy bass grooves, and pounding rhythms.

Their debut album, Down from the Inner Work, was recorded and mixed by Alex Bhore (This Will Destroy You, Power Trip) at Elmwood Studio in Dallas, Texas, and mastered by Dave Cooley (Deafheaven, Madvillain) at Elysian Masters in Los Angeles, California.

The band’s music is a jagged journey through the darker corridors of the mind, where tension and turmoil take center stage.

The band will perform a headlining set to celebrate the video release at Doublewide located at 3510 Commerce in Dallas, Texas on August 24 at 10 p.m.

Die Metalcore- / Djent-Band ALLEVIATE hat eine weitere Single veröffentlicht: Den Titeltrack “DMNS” kann man sich in Bild und Ton bei YouTube zu Gemüte führen. Auf dem gleichnamigen Debütalbum “DMNS”, das am 23. August 2024 via Arising Empire erschienen ist, finden sich überdies die Songs “Forevermore” sowie “Alive”.

Auch die Nummer “Gravity” gibt’s als Clip bei YouTube und enthält ein Gastfeature von YouTube-Influencer Nik Nokturnal. Der Track folgt auf die Songs “Within Worlds”, “Trying To Survive” sowie “Better Pt. I”, das als Musikvideo bei YouTube bereitsteht.

Zuvor teilte die Gruppe im November 2021 den Clip zum Song “Broken”. Die Band kommentiert die Nummer wie folgt:

“Broken handelt davon, Depressionen zu überwinden, die von dieser grausamen Welt verursacht wurden. Von allen im Stich und allein gelassen, findet der Protagonist tief in seinen eigenen Gedanken Kraft.
Wieder versucht ALLEVIATE zu lindern und dafür steht die Band; über persönliche Erfahrungen und den Versuch, den Hörern einen Weg zu weisen.

Darüber hinaus gab es im Frühjahr 2021 ein Musikvideo zur Debüt-Single “Die For Me”.

Die Blackened Death / Sludge Metal-Band GLACIAL TOMB hat einen Labeldeal bei Prosthetic Records unterschrieben. Im Zuge dessen werden die US-Amerikaner aus Denver ihr neues Album “Lightless Expanse” veröffentlichen. Es ist nach “Glacial Tomb” (2018) das zweite Album der 2016 gegründeten Band rund um Gitarrist und Sänger Ben Hutcherson (KHEMMIS).

“Lightless Expanse” wurde von Arthur Rizk (ETERNAL CHAMPION) gemixt und gemastert und mit einem Cover-Artwork von Daniel Vega ausgestattet. Release-Termin ist der 20. September 2024. Mit “Stygian Abattoir” gibt es nun vom Opener einen Video-Clip. Vorab gibt es mit “Abyssal Host” auch ein Lyric-Video.

“”Abyssal Host” ist ein D-Beat-Kracher über kosmische Kräfte, die die Menschheit nicht begreifen kann”, sagt Ben Hutcherson. “Eines der zentralen Themen des Albums ist, dass wir als Spezies immer wieder an unserer Hybris scheitern, obwohl wir nicht willens und/oder in der Lage zu sein scheinen, die Sinnlosigkeit von Kontrolle in all ihren Formen anzuerkennen. It’s been two and a half years since Stuttgart’s synth-pop duo Sugartin hit the scene, and in that time, they’ve rolled out a string of striking EPs:25, Dance, Diamant, Spaß Allein, and Breakdown.

Their latest self-titled EP sticks to a sharp, stripped-down formula: one voice, two synths, three languages, and a drum machine. It’s a setup that keeps things simple but potent. Iris handles the vocals, switching effortlessly between German, English, and French. Sugartin has honed their sound into something that’s both minimal and multifaceted, proving that sometimes less is more. Their journey from the start has been about refining their craft, and this latest release – which they proclaim ‘their masterpiece’ –  shows just how far they’ve come. From start to finish, it’s pure grade, high-octane fun.

The eponymous title track, Sugartin, spins the tale behind the band’s name, a metaphor for the beautiful memories and moments we stash away in our personal sugar tins over a lifetime. The song is anchored by a powerful shuffle beat that gets your hips moving, a blend that nods to The Stray Cats with a dash of B52s’ quirky charm.

Augenstern delivers a minimalist, driving rhythm, with a bassline that harkens back to the hammering rhythm of DAF and early Fad Gadget. The monotony of the spoken word is shattered by sudden screams and bursts of laughter.

Then there’s La Beauté De La Nuit, an eerie French spoken-word piece that feels like Visage rubbing shoulders with Anne Clarke, all wrapped in a hazy yé-yé vibe. The mix of sacred, mysterious sounds with minor harmonies crafts a dark yet cozy atmosphere. The beauty of the night is unveiled through recitative text and whispered secrets, sung with haunting clarity.

In the haunting experimental track Bête Noire, Belfast musical and visual artist Louise Patricia Crane plunges deep into the murky waters of the soul, where tension hangs heavy and shadows stretch long. The song captures the eerie echoes of Danielle Dax, Nine Inch Nails, and Chelsea Wolfe, painting the atmosphere with blood-stained strokes that recall Giallo soundtracks and the unsettling vibes of horror film scores. Given Crane’s deep-rooted love for classic horror, it’s no surprise that this dark obsession seeps into her music, casting a sinister spell.

Bête Noire showcases the full scope of Crane’s artistic ambition, unraveling with an unsettling elegance. Written and recorded during a particularly stormy period in her life, it stands as the darkest, most intoxicating track on the release. Composed in her home studio, a year into the creation of her sophomore album, Crane handles nearly every musical duty herself, enlisting Megatron Bison (Solemn Novena) to embody the hedonistic “black beast” with haunting backing vocals.

“Bête Noire is one the most significant songs on the album,” Crane proclaims. “When I started composing it, it took over and sort of grabbed hold of me; it captures a moment in time that’s for sure…It’s about embracing hedonism and fully giving oneself over to those forces that ultimately cause you pain, welcoming them in.”

The lyrics dive deep into a dark, nihilistic bond between two souls, tethered by shared despair and a taste for destruction. The speaker’s intent is clear—ignore the red flags, embrace the darkness, and find a twisted kind of solace in each other’s arms. It’s a bleak outlook, yet beneath the shadows, there’s a flicker of warmth, a longing for closeness that hints at a troubled, yet undeniable connection.

In the DIY video below, Crane seductively dances into the camera, pulling you into her world. It’s a raw, unfiltered glimpse into the depths of a relationship where comfort and chaos go hand in hand, and where the darkness is as inviting as it is dangerous.

“I began writing Bête Noire when I had been playing around with adding new guitar effects patches; an evocative sound can take something in its own direction,” Crane explains. “…I programmed up the drumsand overlaid them with atmospheric synths, embellishing with strings and piano parts I’d recently written, but had yet to use in a song. After adding extra percussion, I recorded acoustic guitar and 12-string acoustic, along with ebow on the electric that I reversed on the intro and later, at the crescendo. I wanted it to sound chaotic, the intensity building and building, to a climax. Until the ending, the calm after the storm. The album opens with the words “my love whispers from her grave”, and this final moment that closes out Bête Noire is like that lover you’ve missed, softly welcoming you in to her open embrace. Lulling you off to sleep, from the other side. Like a siren’s song.”

There’s a certain kind of partnership that starts out like a slow dance, smooth and in sync. But somewhere along the line, the rhythm changes, and what once felt like harmony turns into a grind. It’s that gnawing feeling in your gut, like something’s rotting from the inside out. You go through the motions, still holding onto the idea of what you once had, but every step feels heavier, every word more forced. The connection that used to spark with life now feels like a chain, each link tightening around your chest, making it harder to breathe.

You keep it up, pretending everything’s fine, but deep down, you know it’s all unraveling. The resentment, the bitterness, they build up, little by little, like poison seeping into your veins. You’re trapped in a cycle, torn between the memory of what was and the harsh reality of what is. And the worst part? You’re not sure which is worse—staying in this mess or facing the emptiness that comes with walking away.

This feeling shines through loud and clear in Leave, the second single from Raudiver’s upcoming debut record titled Leave Before Dark. Raudiver, comprised of Lauren Villarreal Eddy and Charlie Don’t, composed a danceable shoegaze track about a toxic relationship where the bond brings more pain than joy. The singer urges their partner to leave if they truly care, seeking a love that is nurturing and gentle instead of destructive. There’s a plea for freedom and a desire to escape the suffering, emphasizing the need to find a healthier, more fulfilling connection.

“This song is the most optimistic and determined of the record,” says Eddy. “To me, it encourages you to escape unhealthy situations, whether it’s a toxic workplace– or a relationship, or a project, because our time is limited and there’s a big world out there. I feel like every time I’ve left a situation like that, I’ve found something better. I believe in working things out when you can and honoring commitments, but when something is destroying you, there is a limit and you know what you need to do.”

In the George Tripsas-directed video for Leave, a Scooby-Doo style sheet ghost drifts through the band’s living room performance, a spectral stand-in for the past. It hovers in the background, a silent reminder of the things you thought you’d left behind but still cling to you like a stubborn shadow. The ghost isn’t flashy—it’s a subtle, steady presence, much like the regrets and memories it represents, always lurking, never quite leaving, and adding a layer of haunting humour.

Named after spectral whispers, Raudiver weaves a winding trail through goth pop and darkwave, with ethereal vocals drifting over hazy shoegaze textures, all anchored by hand-programmed beats that pulse like a heartbeat in the dark. The music feels like it’s been pulled from the depths of a forgotten dream, each note wrapped in a shroud of mystery. Holy Høly is the brainchild of Ewa Baran (NOCE, and She Fits Me), a talent associated with Barcelona’s Diffuse Reality Records and Italy’s Cultural Bridge. Currently, she’s juggling the creation of her solo album #262626 and an ambient duet project with Daniel Löwen. Ewa’s versatile voice graces the works of many producers. The coming months promise a flurry of creative exchanges between Krakow and Luxembourg.

Behind the pseudonym DXCV3R is Bartosz Brzeziński, best known as one-half of the duo ThunderFuzz. Their album Anti Body garnered attention in the trip-hop scene, with the track Horizon featured on Down Tempo Fix Vol. 1 by H1 Massive. Bartek also collaborates with Ashes and Dreams and TabInStereo, and has started making waves on the Polish music scene with reworks for Ania Sama and a collaboration with Polaczek.

Their latest collaboration, RUN!, offers a sneak peek into DXCV3R’s upcoming solo album, with Ewa Baran lending her sultry vocals. Their mutual love for trip-hop and industrial beats pulses through RUN! and Ewa’s solo project, #262626.

RUN! is a gritty, trip-hop industrial track, with Baran’s powerful voice slicing through the thick, pounding rhythm like a blade through fog. Her vocals echo the moody tones of Recoil, adding a raw edge to the track’s sluggish, relentless backdrop. The video paints a haunting picture—Baran, draped in a horned skull mask, wanders through wheat fields, summoning the eerie essence of ancient pagan rites and forgotten deities. There was a strange synchronicity in the production, as if fate itself had a hand in its creation, weaving a mysterious thread through the music and visuals, tying the old with the new, the past with the present.

“The song was recorded very fast, and we made the video for one day remotely — me in Poland and Bartek in Luxemburg. We wanted to keep the style of Blair Witch Project. Everything was so fast. My friend printed the mask in 20 hours on a 3D printer, and I took it on the evening before shooting. When we came back from the forests, it turned out that this day was the 25th anniversary of the film!”

Heute haben die finnischen Melancholiker ENDLESS CHAIN ihr zweiten Studioalbum mit dem Titel „Agony“ veröffentlicht. Zur Unterstützung hat die Band ein Musikvideo zu ihrer aktuellen Single „We Are All Vulnerable“ online gestellt, in dem Sami Yli-Sirniö von Kreator und Samuli Mikkonen von Korpiklaani zu Gast sind. Das Video wurde von Winter Notes Production produziert (bekannt für ihre Arbeit mit Bands wie Wolfheart, Before The Dawn, Ensiferum und anderen).

Die Modern Metalcore-Band THE OKLAHOMA KID hat einen neuen Song veröffentlicht: “Nostalgic Love” bei YouTube. Auch der Track “Masquerade” steht als Visualizer via YouTube bereit. Entnommen sind die Nummern der EP “Featherminded”, die am 22. August 2024 via Arising Empire erschienen ist.

Auch den Vorab-Track “Ignoranz” kann man sich via YouTube als Musikvideo ansehen. Bei dem Stück arbeitete die Band mit CONSVMER zusammen.

Die Melodic Death Metal-Band OMNIUM GATHERUM hat ein neues Live-Video geteilt: Aufgezeichnet wurde der Mitschnitt von “New Dynamic” während des Dark River Festivals 2023 im finnischen Kotka. Für den Clip verantwortlich zeichnet Coldstore Productions.

Urpsrünglich stammt der Track vom Album “Beyond” (2013), im Jahr 2023 veröffentlichten die Finnen die EP “Slasher“.

In the arctic twilight, Fåntratt emerges as a beacon of arcane storytelling, weaving the ancient threads of folklore with the mystic whispers of esoteric traditions. Their latest album, “Ångerstupa”, sets sail into the heart of Nordic lore and seafaring sagas, crafting a tale as vast as the oceanic depths.

“Ångerstupa”, a vessel borne of experimental soundscapes, plots a course through uncharted waters, blending the traditional resonance of dungeon synth with avant-garde elements that push the genre's boundaries. As the journey unfolds, guests such as Serbian singer Jovana Ä�uk and the Engberg brothers, Daniel and David, lend their voices to the epic narrative. Fåntratt stands in league with the likes of Örnatorpet, Bo Hansson, Ildjarn, and Paysage d'Hiver, yet forges its own path.

Fåntratt is the latest addition to the Nordvis roster. For many years, this obscure artist has delivered sombre tones from the shadows, blending wit and solemnity in a manner that evokes reflection. Die Avantgarde / Progressive Metal-Band THY CATAFALQUE hat mit “XII: A gyönyörű álmok ezután jönnek” ein neues Album angekündigt. Es ist das zwölfte Album des seit über 25 Jahren laufenden Projekts von Tamás Kátai, an dem viele bisherige Wegbegleiter mitwirkten. Denn das Album knüpft auch an Kátais Vergangenheit und die Geschichte seines Heimatlandes an.

“XII: A gyönyörű álmok ezután jönnek” wurde von Gábor Vári bei Miracle Sound in Szeged gemixt und gemastert. Release-Termin ist der 15. November 2024 via Season of Mist. Vorab gibt es einen Video-Clip zum Titeltrack, in welchem Kátai sebst durch die Straßen seiner Heimatstadt Makó läuft. Während sich der Weg durch die ruhige Landschaft schlängelt, wird er von seltsamen Szenen aus Vergangenheit und Gegenwart begrüßt: verrostete Eisenbahnwaggons, Schlägereien mit bloßen Fäusten, mysteriöse Pakete, die im Wald deponiert werden, eine rothaarige Frau, die stoisch auf einem Feld singt. An einer Stelle wird er durch den Anblick seines Doppelgängers, der sein eigenes Grab aushebt, gestoppt.

“Ich stelle mir diese Lieder als Führer durch eine dunkle Nacht der Seele vor”, sagt Tamás Kátai. “Das Video ist sehr persönlich. Es wurde an Orten aus meiner Vergangenheit gedreht und fast alle Schauspieler sind meine alten Freunde.”

Black Metal mit Gospel? Wenn wir ehrlich sind, war diese Kurzcharakterisierung schon beim selbstbetitelten Vorgänger (2022) längst nicht mehr zutreffend. Allerspätestens jetzt müssen wir uns aber eine neue Beschreibung suchen, denn „Greif“ führt ZEAL & ARDOR bisweilen in gänzlich neue Gefilde. Was oftmals spannend ist, kommt aber auch mit einem großen Vorbehalt: Die Aggression und Härte, die früher den spannenden Kontrast zu bluesigen Kompositionen bildete, finden wir anno 2024 nur noch in Auszügen vor.

Inwiefern dies in der neuen Herangehensweise begründet ist, die Platte nicht als Solo-Unterfangen, sondern im Kollektiv aufzunehmen, ist schlussendlich nebensächlich. Die dadurch gewonnenen kreativen Energien und Freiheiten nutzt Mastermind Manuel Gagneux gezielt dazu, das musikalische Spektrum seines Babys zu erweitern. Eine Art Glockenspiel verleiht „Fend You Off“ eine gewisse Schwerelosigkeit, während die mehrstimmigen Gesangsarrangements dem Stück zugleich Tiefe und Dynamik verleihen. Der einzige harsche Schrei zum Ende belegt schließlich das, was für „Greif“ als Ganzes gilt: Der extreme Metal ist nunmehr nur noch ein Stilmittel von vielen, nicht aber tragende Säule.

ZEAL & ARDOR waren stilistisch wohl nie breiter aufgestellt als auf “Greif”
Dies ermöglicht ZEAL & ARDOR im Gegenzug ein interessantes Experiment wie „Are You The Only One Now?“, das sich zunächst als eine Art Wiegenlied präsentiert, um dann inmitten der behutsamen Atmosphäre doch eine dezent schwarzmetallische Fratze zu offenbaren. Allgemein sind es ohnehin die Details, die „Greif“ letztlich entscheidend prägen: Selbst die gospel- bzw. blues-lastigen Stücke wie „Go home my friend“ oder „369“ werden durch teils filigrane Gitarren angereichert, so dass wir stets etwas zu entdecken haben.

Mit Kopfstimme und trottendem Rock-Vibe setzt sich „Disease“ in ähnlicher Weise ab wie das pochende „Kilonova“, was letztendlich auch symbolisch für die größte Weiterentwicklung seit „Zeal & Ardor“ (2022) gesehen werden kann. Stilistisch breiter aufgestellt war die Band wohl nie, zumal das Songwriting nun deutlich mehr Variation und Mut aufweist als in der Vergangenheit.

“Greif” hebt ZEAL & ARDOR als Künstler wie als Kollektiv auf ein neues Niveau
Bleibt nur der einzige Wermutstropfen, der sich für uns immer dann bemerkbar macht, wenn ZEAL & ARDOR wie in „Clawing Out“ oder vor allem dem starken „Hide In Shade“, wo das Thema des Intros erneut aufgegriffen wird, doch mal die Daumenschrauben anziehen: So schön die Retro-Synth-Landschaften von „Une Ville Vide“ sein mögen, die harte und kompromisslose Seite des eigenen Klangkosmos kommt in diesen 43 Minuten doch ein wenig zu kurz.

Zwar hat in „Sugarcoat“ auch der Hybrid aus LaLa-Melodie und erdiger Metal-Basis seinen Reiz, komplett von der Leine lässt Gagneux seine Band diesmal jedoch nicht. Schade ist das, weil wir diesmal auf den größtmöglichen Kontrast verzichten müssen; im Gegenzug bekommen wir dafür akribisch ausgefeilte Stücke, die ZEAL & ARDOR als Künstler wie als Kollektiv tatsächlich auf ein neues Niveau heben. Black Metal mit Gospel? Quatsch, ist „Greif“ doch so viel mehr als das.

The world often imposes a dark script upon women, one that demands they navigate a narrow path between conflicting expectations. On one side, there’s the pressure to submit to an image of fragility; to play the part of the delicate, repressed Madonna—a figure who is celebrated for her purity, yet imprisoned by it. On the other side, there’s the temptation or coercion to wield sexuality as a tool, to exploit or engage with it, even when it’s not in harmony with one’s true self.

This tension creates a profound inner conflict, where a woman is expected to be both untouchable and available, saintly and seductive. The real challenge lies in rejecting these imposed roles and discovering a way to live authentically, to move beyond the binary of victim or vixen, and to embrace one’s full humanity without apology.

Madeline Goldstein takes this energy and channels it into her new single, 1996 Expectations, which she calls a “tightrope walk” through the music business. Picture Madonna fronting Violator-era Depeche Mode—her voice, sultry yet defiant, coy but strongwilled, becomes a metaphor for the complex dance of female sexuality in the industry. Goldstein doesn’t just warble like a beautiful songbird; she confronts, challenging the expectations placed on women with every note she hits. It’s a bold statement wrapped in a slick, synth-driven package.

“Expectations are the gun – the killer – of a pure thought or action,” she asserts. “And when you’ve shown everyone yourself, inside-out, and they still want more, what’s next? It’s an introduction to the themes of voyeurism and constraint on the new record, whether that be inside the mind, inside the body, or in the open spaces of the everyday world.”

The track was produced by Matia Simovich at Infinite Power Studios in Los Angeles. The single also benefits from additional engineering by Grover Greenberg and Coleman Ketchem, adding depth and polish to Goldstein’s evocative sound.

In the stillness of our inner world, there often lies a tender ache, a delicate thread that binds us to what was never said. Unspoken feelings linger like shadows at twilight, subtle yet persistent, reminding us of paths not taken, of words that could have bridged the chasm between two souls. It’s a gentle pain, not sharp, but it seeps into the cracks of our being, filling the spaces where love once flowed freely. As we move forward, an unvoiced conversation continues within; the weight of what was, or what could have been, isn’t a burden we carry openly, but a silent presence that colors our present moments. Now, Desire shares their brand new single and video for I Know from their forthcoming new album Games People Play, out later this year via Italians Do It Better. Bringing the mellowness of Sadé with the contemporary feel of that Johnny Jewel has brought to Desire, and Chromatics, and other artists on the label’s roster. This song is a bittersweet, hypnotic synth ballad.

I Know explores the heartache of unspoken feelings and the quiet struggle of moving on. With its introspective lyrics and melancholic melody, the song creates a deeply emotional experience that resonates with anyone who has faced the silent weight of a past love. The lyrics reflect a turbulent relationship marked by heartache, understanding, and the illusion of pretending. The speaker acknowledges the darkness and pain within the connection, while also expressing a deep, unspoken knowledge of the other person. Despite the emotional turmoil, there’s a recurring theme of recognition and resignation, accepting the inevitable separation while still yearning for connection.

Directed by Desire and filmed by Johnny Jewel, the video has Megan Louise drifting through a hazy daydream on the sun-soaked islands of Malta and Gozo. “We can pretend sometimes…I know,” she says, offering a wistful nod to the illusion. It’s a slow dance between reality and fantasy, where the lines blur under the Mediterranean sun, leaving you wondering what’s real and what’s just wishful thinking.

Eine Neuaufnahme ihres Albums “Let The Ocean Take Me” (2014) haben THE AMITY AFFLICTION für 27. September 2024 angekündigt. Warum man zum Zehnjährigen der Platte alle Songs neu aufgenommen hat, erklären die Australier:

“[…] Dieses Album hat unser Leben wirklich verändert, und wir sind so dankbar, dass wir miterleben und hören durften, wie es auch viele von euch verändert hat. Wir haben uns aus mehreren Gründen dafür entschieden, dieses Album neu aufzunehmen: Musikalisch hatten wir das Gefühl, dass wir ihm eine neue Dynamik verleihen können, aber auch – und das ist genauso wichtig – sind wir endlich eine unabhängige Band und in der Lage, mit unabhängigen Labels zusammenzuarbeiten, die die Musik in den Vordergrund stellen wollen und uns faire und vernünftige Deals anbieten können, nicht die räuberischen Deals, die allgegenwärtig waren, als wir jünger waren.

Die Progressive Metal-Band OCEANS OF SLUMBER hat einen Labeldeal bei Season of Mist unterschrieben. Im Zuge dessen werden die Briten am 13. September 2024 ihr neues Album “Where Gods Fear To Speak” veröffentlichen. Nun hat die Band nach dem Release des abschließendes CHRIS ISAAK-Covers “Wicked Game” auch den Song “The Given Dream” veröffentlicht.

Im Juni ist mit dem Video-Clip zu “Poem Of Ecstasy” eine zweite Vorab-Single vom Album erschienen. Der Track folgte auf das Titelstück “Where Gods Fear To Speak“.

“Ich wollte schon immer mal Death Growls machen”, sagt Cammie Beverly. “”Where Gods Fear to Speak” bot die perfekte Gelegenheit. Harte Vocals mit meinen Cleansing Vocals zu mischen, spricht das Spannungsfeld zwischen Lust und Schmerz an, aber es gibt auch eine Freiheit, die damit einhergeht, meine Stimme über ihre vermeintliche Belastungsgrenze hinaus zu treiben.”

Unter dem Namen “Poem of Fire” haben OCEANS OF SLUMBER zudem ein Piano-Medley von den Tracks des kommenden Albums veröffentlicht.

“Dieses Signing ist unser Einstieg in die rohe, härtere Richtung, die wir in letzter Zeit eingeschlagen haben”, erklärt Drummer Dobber Beverly.

OCEANS OF SLUMBER sind Sängerin Cammie Beverly, Drummer und Keyboarder Dobber Beverly (NECROFIER, Ex-VIRAL LOAD, Ex-INSECT WARFARE), Bassist Semir Ozerkan (NECROFIER, NAHAYA), Gitarrist Alex Davis sowie Gitarrist und Synthesizer Chris Kritikos.

“Anomalous Abstractigate Infinitessimus” wurde gemeinsam mit Sanford Parker aufgenommen und gemixt und von Collin Jordan gemastert. Das Cover-Artwork stammt von Max Winter. Release-Termin ist der 25. Scottish rock renegades Primal Scream are back with their first album in eight years, Come Ahead, dropping November 8 via BMG. They’ve just released a video for the lead single, Love Insurrection, a funky, gritty string-soaked dance track with the swagger of an Isaac Hayes, Bobby Womack, or Curtis Mayfield number pulled straight from a dusty ’70s film reel. With zipping strings and darting woodwinds, it delivers the soulful punch we’ve been craving in these troubled times—a raw, rhythmic reminder that Primal Scream still packs a powerful punch.

“I’m very excited about this album in a way that you would be making your first record,” says Bobby Gillespie. “If there was an overall theme to Come Ahead it might be one of conflict, whether inner or outer. The title is a Glaswegian term. If someone threatens to fight you, you say, ‘come ahead!’ It’s redolent of the indomitable spirit of the Glaswegian, and the album itself shares that aggressive attitude and confidence.”

The lyrics walk a fine line between warning and hope, probing whether society should shield the hungry from the cold grip of market forces. They question wealth’s unfair spread, calling for unity and compassion over divisive symbols and anger. Primal Scream may have a history with hippies, but psychedelic funk isn’t dead yet—it’s alive and well.

The minimalist lyric video, directed by Jim Lambie and Alexander James-Aylin, has a vibe that’s equal parts James Bond and Trainspotting, set against a stark, hyper-futuristic backdrop. The duochrome palette—black, white, and red—gives it a punchy, no-nonsense feel. It’s sleek, sharp, and straight to the point, like a cold steel blade glinting in the dark.

The forthcoming new Primal Scream album, Come Ahead, produced by the ever-brilliant David Holmes (who also helmed 2013’s More Light) alongside Gillespie and Andrew Innes, promises to deliver some of the band’s most personal songwriting to date. Sessions spanned Belfast, London, and Los Angeles, a geographic spread that reflects the album’s broad emotional and sonic range.

The creative process began in 2022, during a dark period when Gillespie feared Primal Scream might never make another album. For the first time in years, the lyrics took precedence, marking a significant shift in their creative approach. “The story came first. Bobby wrote alone, using an acoustic guitar. Ideas flowed fast, in long bursts of inspiration,” Gillespie reveals. This fresh method, coupled with David Holmes’ guidance, brought a new dimension to the band’s sound.

“Every Limb Of The Flood” sei ein düsteres Konzeptalbum, das den Weg von “Grief” nachzeichnet, einer Figur, die aus einer ausgiebigen Ausschweifung erwacht und versucht langsam zu verschwinden. Das Album wurde gemeinsam mit Brett Bamberger (REVOCATION) aufgenommen, von Gitarrist und Bassist Dan Gargiulo gemixt und von Colin Marston (GORGUTS, KRALLICE) gemastert.

From the heartlands of Hälsingland emerges the haunting legacy of Hultkläppen, one of Sweden’s most enigmatic and masterful fiddlers. Thomas von Wachenfeldt, a classically trained violinist, composer, and renowned traditional Swedish musician, has ventured into the depths of history to resurrect timeless tunes.

“Den Vanfrejdade – Hultkläppens låtar och leverne” is a biographical journey spanning the life and legacy of Hultkläppen (1834-1898). Comprising every known tune attributed to the legendary infamous fiddler, this double-CD album is the culmination of twenty years of meticulous research by Wachenfeldt, who is also a PhD researcher and an Associate Professor at Dalarna University and Uppsala University. The album is accompanied by a 132-page book, offering an in-depth exploration of Hultkläppen’s life and music.

Each track pulses with the spirit of the Nordic wilderness, capturing the essence of traditional Swedish folk fiddle music. From the mournful strains of “När Hultkläppen spelade hustrun till graven” to the jubilant refrains of “Hultkläppens brännvinspolska”, Wachenfeldt’s masterful interpretations breathe life into melodies passed down through generations. The music, steeped in the lore and landscape of Hälsingland, offers a passage through time, evoking the same woodland magic that inspired Hultkläppen himself.

Thomas von Wachenfeldt is a nationally recognised fiddler and touring artist who has performed and lectured throughout Sweden, England, France, the USA, Finland, and Iceland. Thomas is also active with his death metal bands Wachenfeldt and Wombbath. He has collaborated with a number of notable acts – such as Entombed, for whom he arranged “Clandestine” for a symphony orchestra. Other artists he has worked with include Grave, Hulkoff, and Ereb Altor.
