Die Metalcore-Band COUNTERPARTS hat am 7. November 2024 überraschend eine neue EP mit dem Titel “Heaven Let Them Die” veröffentlicht. Darauf enthalten sind auch die beiden Songs “A Martyr Left Alive” sowie “No Lamb Was Lost”, die nun als Doppelsingle mit einem Musikvideo bedacht wurden.

Modern post-punk creatives Cyborg Amok are gearing up for a another go, this time bringing along an impressive ensemble of musical allies. Their highly anticipated album, *Pins & Needles*, marks their first full release in over two years and is set to deliver a visceral experience at the close of 2024. This time, the duo—Greg and Brydon Bullock—has enlisted the exceptional talents of guitarist Mark Gemini Thwaite, known for his work with legends like Peter Murphy, The Mission, and Gary Numan, alongside bassist Emilio Zef China, who has collaborated with the likes of Peter Murphy, Jonathan Davis, and Psychic TV. Together, they create a combustible lineup that promises a captivating experience from beginning to end.

The album’s first single, “Cellophane Grind,“ bursts onto the scene as a vibrant and defiant dance-floor anthem. It pulses with an irresistible groove, propelled by thumping drums and a bass line that weaves through the track like a confident presence claiming the night. Guitars clash and entwine, while shadowy synths murmur in the depths, all woven together by Cyborg Amok’s signature dark and brooding vocals.

The album’s second single, When Animals Have Guns, is a punishing anthem that blazes with intensity. Mark and Emilio ignite the track while Brydon’s relentless drums pound the ground beneath. Greg’s haunting voice delivers a sharp, unsettling message, layered over a shadowy synth bed.

In December, Cyborg Amok release a third single, paving the way for the full album. Expect more sinister, synth-driven sounds that pierce through with a lingering sting, showcasing Cyborg Amok’s knack for stirring something deep and primal. It’s a dark dive into the heart of their heavy, industrial grooves, a space where tension thrums beneath each beat.

Also included is a bonus track—Why Not (Cyborg Amok)—a standout single released earlier this year. Brydon Bullock leads the charge, taking on vocals and drums, with Mark Gemini Thwaite and Emilio Zef China driving the guitars and bass. Greg laces the track with synths and backing vocals, while David Baron (Lumineers, Peter Murphy, Lenny Kravitz) ties it all together with synth programming and production. Baron’s mix brings a pulsing energy to the track, pushing it forward with a steady hand, while the band’s collective force hammers home its weight.

Cyborg Amok sat down with Post-Punk.com for an interview about the upcoming album, working with Mark Gemini Thwaite and Emilio Zef China, and their dynamic:

Cellophane Grind has a strong post-punk dance floor vibe. What inspired the direction of this track, both musically and lyrically?

G: From the beginning, we’ve experimented with various styles of music. Cellophane Grind came about while in the midst of playing a series of clubs hosting dark-wave dance parties … mostly EDM and industrial but also post-punk dance music. While I feel primarily close to the post-punk vibe, the whole dance venue scene intrigues me. Cellophane Grind just came about organically while I was sitting down playing, looking for new song ideas.

B: I think musically, it’s a symptom of being engrossed in the dark-wave and post-punk dance scenes. We’ve had a run where we were playing show after show in those clubs, so naturally, it had an influence on our writing. I think for myself, at least drum-wise, I really wanted to do a bit of a dance groove and feel. It’s simple, but really fun to go out and play.

Having seasoned musicians like Mark Gemini Thwaite and Emilio Zef China featured on your new single, what was the collaborative process like? How did their involvement shape the final sound? You’ve mentioned more tracks with Mark and Emilio leading up to the album release. Can you give us a hint about the next single or what direction the other tracks are taking?

G: I’ve known Emilio for many years. He has played on my music prior to starting Cyborg Amok. When he was on tour with Peter (Murphy), I went out to visit him on the road in Philly and met Mark after soundcheck hanging in the dressing room. I hadn’t seen him play before, but once I did he became my new favorite guitar player. (Ha!) When we were working with David Baron on the Why Not! (Cyborg Amok) single, it just made sense to ask him to play with us on that track since we already were working with David and Emilio. Once we finished that song, we asked him to do other songs for the record we were planning … the result being Pins & Needles. Collaborating with those guys is great. They’re so professional; we send off the tracks, and we get their tracks back rather quickly. They’re very easy to work with. I give them some references and let them do their thing. The results are always fantastic. They give these songs life with an edgier slant than what we’ve done in the past.

B: From a drummer’s perspective, Mark and Emilio are just fun to play with, and to play to their tracks. It always feels super tight and locked in. I think you can hear the drive they bring to this single. Everything is super punchy and driving. I always get excited every time I know I’m playing on another track with them because I know it’s gonna feel great.

As a father-son duo, how do your individual musical influences and styles blend to create Cyborg Amok’s unique sound? Are there any creative challenges that come with this dynamic?

G: Musically, we are very similar. I gravitate to darker, sometimes more progressive music. Influences such as Peter Gabriel, Depeche Mode, Peter Murphy and Pink Floyd feature prominently in my writing and producing style. I think Brydon, who started with bands like Rush and Led Zeppelin (as a drummer), has become far more diverse than I am. I’m not sure there are challenges within Cyborg Amok. I tend to build the framework of the songs, and Brydon adds his parts and ideas to the foundation I’ve laid down as the song progresses. I’d say the only challenges I see are when we are working on his solo music. He has very specific ideas as to what he wants in his songs. I try to give him what he wants, but sometimes, we have long discussions as to how and why those decisions are being made. But I’ll let him elaborate on this…

B: When I was first getting into music, playing drums, and writing, I found influence in Rush, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and other bands from that era. As I got older, I held onto those influences but branched out to more contemporary sounds, like Post Malone, Dayglow, Tyler The Creator, and a mix of other contemporary styles. I’ve paired this with the jazz and funk styles I’ve been invested in while studying jazz at university. I try to incorporate contemporary drumming into the Cyborg Amok framework, especially more indie pop/rock feels. As my dad stated, our biggest challenge mostly comes while working on my solo music. I still have a lot to learn and get caught up in the creative process, and as my dad always tells me, “put the cart before the horse.” I can usually hear the finished product in my head even before it’s done, so like many young creative artists, I have to learn more and learn to trust the process.

Your upcoming album, Pins & Needles, is set for release this winter. What themes or stories can we expect from the new album?

G: As with all the music Cyborg Amok does, it tends to explore various influences … we don’t like doing the same thing over and over. That gets stale rather quickly for us. That said, our sound/style seems to have evolved into it’s own. Like with previous albums, as lyricist, I tend to write about the things I’m seeing going on in the world around us. Death and mortality, tyranny and revolution, rights and freedoms, are all subject we are exploring on this album … what keeps us all on pins and needles.

B: It’s safe to say that in the time between our last few albums, a lot has happened to both of us as individuals and in the world around us. I think it comes out in the new album. Musically, the help of two new creative minds in Mark and Emilio, will lend to Cyborg Amok going in a new direction, as we have always done.

Turbinenhalle, Oberhausen, Germany 9th November 2024Jimmy Eat World - “EU & UK Tour” - Support: Pup It has been five years since the release of JIMMY EAT WORLD’s latest studio album. During the pandemic, the US Rock band from Arizona released recordings of three online concerts with the ‘Phoenix Sessions’, but the quartet has not released any new material in the form of an album since their last long-player ‘Surviving’. Nevertheless, the band has not been completely inactive in recent years. The men led by singer Jim Adkins have indeed resumed their live activities since the end of the lockdown and so they are touring as hard as ever to present the songs from their ten albums. We had the pleasure of attending their third and final gig in Germany, in Oberhausen to be precise.

Die Folk Metal-Band KORPIKLAANI stellt ihr zwölftes Album “Rankarumpu” mit einem weiteren Clip vor: Auch zur englischen Fassung “Sauna” des Albumtracks “Saunaan” hat die Gruppe nun ein Video hochgeladen.

Außerdem haben die Finnen ein Video zur Single “Harhainen höyhen”, einen Clip zum Titeltrack, ein Musikvideo zum Stück “Oraakkelit” und ein Video zu “Aita” gedreht. Der Song war eigentlich als Instrumental geplant, doch dann kam es anders, wie Neuzugang Olli Vänskä erklärt:

“Aita’ wurde eigentlich als Instrumentalstück komponiert, oder das war zumindest die Absicht. Ich schickte Jonne eine Demoversion, und als ich ihn eine Woche später danach fragte, sagte er “Zur Hölle nein!” und gab mir den Text, den er geschrieben hatte. Und das waren gute Texte! Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Geigenriff und auch mit dem Folk-Intermezzo, das daraus geworden ist. Da passiert eine Menge interessanter Sachen!”

Im Januar teilten KORPIKLAANI ein Musikvideo zu “Saunaan” bei YouTube. Auch dieses Stück wurde von Olli Vänskä geschrieben:

“Ich komponierte ‘Saunaan’ schon Monate bevor ich überhaupt wusste, dass ich bei Korpiklaani spielen würde. Ich arbeitete an einem peppigen Folk-Metal-Song und wenig überraschend war KORPIKLAANI – Kings of Folk Metal – definitiv einer der Einflüsse.

Dann führte ein Gedanke zum anderen und plötzlich spielte ich tatsächlich für Korpiklaani und wir sprachen über Material für ein kommendes Album. Eines Abends, während einer Fahrt mit dem Festivalbus, spielte ich den Jungs ein paar Demotracks vor, und Jonne gab mir sofort ein dickes Lob. Wir haben ein bisschen am Arrangement gearbeitet und das Endergebnis ist ein ziemlich guter Song!”

“Rankarumpu” wurde mit Produzent Janne Saksa aufgenommen und erschien am 5. April 2024 via Nuclear Blast.

The Lightest Straw taucht in den Zusammenbruch einer unbesiegbaren Seele ein – ein Thema, das tief in den Echos ihres 2007 erschienenen Albums The Water Fields verwurzelt ist. Mit einer Anspielung auf ihre Doom- und Death-Metal-Wurzeln explodiert dieser Track mit einer brutalen und doch wunderschön orchestrierten Klanglandschaft, die 40 Gesangsspuren zu einer intensiven, eindringlichen Mischung schichtet. Am 24. Januar 2025 wird mit “Black Steel Vengeance” das neue Album der Black / Speed Metal-Band VITRIOLIC via Dying Victims Productions auch in Europa erscheinen. Das nach “Renegade Ascension” (2021) zweite Album der Finnen ist bereits im Vormonat via Headsplit Records in Nordamerika erschienen.

Siphonophores, those curious architects of the deep, drift through the endless expanse of oceanic blackness, each a patchwork of parts, a floating fellowship of forms, tied together in perfect unity. Like us, they consist of smaller beings — zooids, each with its calling: some snatch prey with stinging threads, others reproduce, some propel the whole forward, while still others defend. Every zooid is distinct yet incomplete alone, needing the colony to thrive, a dance of interdependence.

Reflect upon this image, and it becomes a rich metaphor for the voyage within, the burden we bear and battle. First, we float unaware, denying the storm beneath. Then comes the turbulence, the agitation, and pain, shock striking like a venomous tendril. We resist, thrash, and fight — yet, eventually, must pause, must swallow and understand. Acceptance washes over, like a gentle current, bringing the scattered pieces together, forgiving our own sharp edges.

We learn to embrace the many parts of ourselves, each distinct, some fragile, some fierce. The siphonophore teaches us this: that unity is strength, that self-love comes not from neglect but from embracing the whole, from learning that within our interconnected parts, there lies a hard-earned peace.

Amaya López-Carromero (healthyliving), known as Maud the Moth, unveils her latest creation, The Distaff, on 21 February 2025. This record plunges into the depths of identity, feminine wounds, and fragmented memories, drawing from the symbol of the distaff and the haunting echoes of Greek poet Erinna’s laments on lost power. The Spanish-born, Scotland-based artist has long used the mantle of Maud the Moth as an alter-ego, a séance-like conduit to explore themes of rootlessness, identity, and trauma.

Siphonophores emerges as a hypnotic blend of plaintive piano and a voice both delicate and demanding. Built on acoustic piano and driven by Amaya’s ghostly, otherworldly voice, the track moves between raw, visceral feeling and surreal wonder. Her vocals drift, whispering and wailing, conjuring spirits long past yet ever-present. Imagine Cocteau Twins’ dreamy haze, Tori Amos’ fierce fragility, Portishead’s soulful undercurrent, and a touch of Loreena McKennitt’s spellbinding mystique—all entwined in this evocative, haunting universe.

 “Time stands still in oceanic depths,” says López-Carromero .“Below the mirror-like dark waters breathes the dream collective. The gates of Eden open only in the arms of a lover. I wrote this song originally on guitar. During the same time period I wrote to the fields for my band healthyliving, and they have a strange connection. Here it is reworked to fit the album as necessary respite.”

The video for Siphonophores was co-directed by Elena Brea and Amaya López-Carromero. A filmmaker, visual artist, and seasoned diver, Brea has been exploring underwater cinematography since 2022. With a focus on macro videography, she aims to capture her subjects with an abstract and experimental lens. When Amaya proposed creating an underwater video, the two spoke deeply about the album’s themes. Brea chose the concept of inherited trauma as her compass.

The result is a haunting exploration of self-introspection, a descent into the layered psyche—through denial, agitation, shock, and sorrow. Then, like the ocean’s currents that transform everything in their path, the journey moves toward acceptance and forgiveness, a gentle yet relentless embrace of all parts of the self. In this underwater realm, these stages unfold fluidly, creating a haunting and raw reflection on moving toward self-discovery, self-acceptance, and self-care. The visual flows with beauty, introspection, and grace.

“The creation is a visual expression of the different stages of self-introspection when meeting, fighting, and overcoming this burden and load we bear,” says Brea. “From unawareness and denial to agitation, shock, and pain, to then ingestion, acceptance and forgiveness, to embrace all these parts of ourselves and reach peace in the path towards self-discovery, self-love, and self-care, instead of slight and neglect.”

The Distaff takes its name from the ancient tool onto which wool or flax is wound, a symbol of the “virtuous woman,” wielded as a standard around which feminine trauma has long twisted and tangled. The album unfolds like a surreal, self-reflective autobiography, drawing partly from the mournful words of Greek poet Erinna, who lamented a friend’s loss of agency, bartered away for the safety and acceptance of marriage in society’s eyes.

Though rooted in a personal perspective, the album shuns a single voice. Instead, it unravels like a sonic trousseau, trading needlepoint and heirlooms for fragmented, almost forgotten memories: glimpses of rural Spain near the vineyards, family quarrels echoing across generations, wartime tales, and migration’s cold estrangement. It paints a dystopian pastoral, evolving over a fictional, timeless day where imagination—often the sole survivor of trauma and gaslighting—blurs into reality. The scenes wander through discordant landscapes, where fact and fantasy lose their boundaries. The Distaff seeks to lay bare past wounds, grapple with the darkness they bred, and offer release, a creative balm born from reckoning and renewal.

The album dwells in an ethereal yet stormy world where time stands stubborn, and fictional folklore mingles with Maud the Moth’s sonic array. Born from a lifelong passion for music, it reflects Amaya’s deep dive into genre and her long ties to Europe’s underground scene. Collaborations bristle with daring creativity: Seb Rochford (Patti Smith, Polar Bear) delivers thunderous drumbeats, Alison Chesley (Helen Money) unfurls cello strains that soar and tremble, and Scott McLean (Ashenspire, Falloch) blends guitar, sax, and synthesizer into intricate layers.

Mastered at the legendary Abbey Road by Alex Wharton (Radiohead, My Bloody Valentine), the album looms large, promising unforgettable live moments at ArcTanGent 2025.

The Distaff will be available to pre-order from November 12th, 2024 here via The Larvarium (digital +CD) and La Rubia Producciones (vinyl), with Fenny Compton contributing a tape release on 21st February 2025.

Die Dissonant Death Metal-Band HIERARCHIES hat einen Labeldeal bei Transcending Obscurity Records unterschrieben. Da gab es doch glatt noch keine Rezi zum neuen Album hier beim Black. Dabei sind Herr Cave und die Bad Seeds bereits auf ihrer Tour wieder aus deutschen Landen abgereist und haben allerorts ein begeistertes Publikum zurückgelassen. Warmherzigkeit und Glückseligkeit durchströmen auch die neue Platte, die allerdings nun auch schon weder fast seit einem viertel Jahr erhältlich ist. In diesen beiden Strömungen finden wir auch schon die wesentlichen Abgrenzungen zu den Vorgängeralben Ghosteen und Skeleton Tree. Es ist mit mehr Furore und hymnenhaft angelegt. Durch Ghosteen und seine Klagen, so nachvollziehbar sie auch sind bzw. waren, musste ich mich durchquälen und so wie auch Skeleton Tree kam es seitdem kaum noch auf den Plattenteller. Das mag im Falle von „Wild God“ vielleicht anders kommen, denn die meiste Zeit kann es mich wirklich mitreißen. Es geht stetig weiter vorwärts und bleibt dabei innovativ. Die Lieder greifen unterschiedliche Stimmungen auf und sind nicht mehr auf der Grundlage eines einzelnen tragischen Ereignisses festgepflockt. Nick Cave hat in mehreren seiner Interviews anklingen lassen, dass es für ihn eine entsetzliche Arbeit und Plackerei sei Lieder zu schreiben. Dafür sind ihm schöne Stücke gelungen und manche haben das Zeug dazu Klassiker zu werden (z. B. Cinemon Horses – für mich das beste Stück der Platte). Auch gut ist die Kraft, die in der Instrumentierung steckt. Selbst Waldhörner bekommt man zu hören (Conversion). Wenn doch aber nur diese vielen Gospelelemente nicht wären. Auf mich wirken sie sehr aufgesetzt und sind aus meiner Sicht für die Message, welche die Lieder transportieren sollen, im Grunde genommen überflüssig. Dadurch wirkt vieles zu künstlich. Live machen einem die hier beteiligten Musiker die Hölle heiß, weshalb ich mir die Platte dann doch noch zugelegt habe aber hier auf dem Album scheint alles schön himmlisch auf Wolken getragen zu sein. Dabei ist im titelgebenden Stück, Wild God, von einem prähistorischen Vogel die Rede, der durch unsere Körper fährt und uns mit verrottenden Ideen beehrt. Da wünscht man sich hier und da dann doch mehr dreckige Ecken auf dem Album und auch beim Zusammenspiel der Musiker. Hier zeigt sich vielleicht doch ein Makel darin, dass die Bad Seeds beim Einspielen der Platte gar nicht zusammen im Studio waren, wie gemunkelt wird. So bleibt es eine Produktion, die möglicherweise mehr Dynamik gehabt hätte, wenn alle wie auf der Bühne zusammen gekommen wären. Vielleicht liegt es aber auch nur daran, dass ich die frühen Werke besser finde und für mich seit „Push The Sky Away“ die Alben eher enttäuschend waren. Der Hörer trifft hier auf eine große Summe der positiven Eigenschaften, die Nick Cave und den Bad Seeds nachgesagt werden. Und wer sich an der weitläufigen spirituellen Gospeluntermalung nicht stört, wird gute 45 Minuten haben. Alle anderen müssen aber leider hier und da das Knöpfchen drücken.    (M. Wienecke)

Schrank Remixes shakes complacency to sound the anthem of a world that refuses to sit still. XTR HUMAN’s work isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s the pulse of a planet alive with history and brimming with rebellion, a siren call to those lost and longing, ready to burst through walls of pretense and make a mark.

ROGGA JOHANSSON kann auch anders… Der vielbeschäftigte Musiker, der in einer Vielzahl von Bands jeweils doch ganz ähnliche Death Metal-Musik macht, gründete vor wenigen Jahren mit GAUNTLET RULE eine Band, wo er sich dem klassischen Heavy Metal widmet. Und siehe da, man würde es – im Gegensatz zu seinen anderen Bands – nicht aufs Erste erkennen, dass in GAUNTLET RULE Rogga Johansson drin ist. Weder schmälert dieser Umstand die Qualität der Musik noch wird diese dadurch erhöht. Schließlich gibt es auf “After the Kill”, dem zweiten Album der Band, überraschungsfreie Genre-Musik zu hören, die ihre Stärke darin hat, dass man nur wenig Schwächen ausmachen kann. Das Album klingt recht rund. Etwas schade ist, dass das dramatische Element nicht ganz so zum Tragen kommt. Dafür gibt es den kräftigen und angerauten Gesang von Teddy Möller (LOCH VOSTOK), der auch in Sachen Abwechslung zumindest punktuell überzeugt (“Exception to the Rule”), und ganz nette Gitarren-Soli von Kjetil Lynghaug (PAGANIZER). Richtige Highlight-Songs mag man nicht ausfindig machen, dafür zieht das Album – mit Ausnahme allzu langsamer Songs wie “Drumhead Trial” – gefällig vorüber und bleibt vielleicht am ehesten dadurch in der Erinnerung haften, dass es sich hier um ein doch anderes ROGGA JOHANSSON-Projekt handelt.

„Wenn du lange in einen Abgrund blickst, blickt der Abgrund auch in dich hinein.“ Nicht nur dank Nietzsche war es absehbar, dass selbst im Hause SWALLOW THE SUN irgendwann etwas passieren muss. Deprimierend und trostlos klangen die Finnen zuletzt aus gutem Grund. Doch um nach einem Trauerfall nicht von der alles umfassenden Leere verschlungen zu werden, ist eine neue Perspektive, ein neuer Ausblick vonnöten.

Einen solchen Gefunden hat die Doom-Death-Band in „Shining“, dessen strahlendes Artwork bereits vermuten lässt, dass vielleicht sogar etwas Optimismus in die neue Szenerie Einzug erhält. Ein Kulturschock, den auch wir erstmal verdauen müssend, handelt es sich doch gelinde gesagt um einen Stilbruch auf der Gefühlsebene. Denn während die zehn Tracks zweifellos die Handschrift SWALLOW THE SUNs tragen, kommt dem neunten Album der Formation die emotionale Schwere zunächst abhanden.

SWALLOW THE SUN üben mit “Shining” den Neuanfang
Easy Listening ist nicht unbedingt die erste Assoziation, die wie normalerweise mit dem Gespann assoziieren. Den niederschmetternden Charakter des Meisterstücks „When A Shadow Is Forced Into The Light“ (2019) etwa tauscht das Quintett durch latente Zuversicht, die stets hinter dem melancholischen Grundgerüst hindurchschimmert. Die Erkenntnis müssen wir erstmal sacken lassen, um uns nach der anfänglichen Enttäuschung an den Beginn dieser Ära langsam heranzutasten.

Glücklicherweise gestalten SWALLOW THE SUN diesen Neuanfang mit dem an KATATONIA erinnernden „Innocence Was Long Forgotten“ so angenehm wie möglich. Zuckrige Melodiebögen und die berührende Singstimme Mikko Kotamäkis reichen uns die Hand, ziehen im walzenden Doom-Death von „What I Have Become“ auch mal etwas heftiger an unserer, nur um dann mittels Streicher und sanft gesungener Zeilen doch für einen versöhnlichen Abschluss zu sorgen.

Die Balance aus Schwermut und Hoffnungsschimmer gelingt “Shining” letztlich besser als erwartet
Dieser neu gefundene Drang zur Harmonie prägt weite Strecken des Albums, driftet in „Under The Moon & Sun“ oder „MelancHoly“ durchaus ins Kitschige ab und lädt doch zum Dahinschwelgen ein. Schöne Augenblicke hält „Shining“ somit zuhauf bereit, die mal durch Akustikgitarren, mal durch Piano-Arrangements angereichert werden, nur eben in letzter Konsequenz nicht immer unter die Haut gehen. Gerade das aufwühlende Element kommt dem gestriegelten Ansatz zu oft abhanden, insbesondere wenn Mikko Kotamäkis Gesang in den genannten Stücken hörbar durch die Postproduktion poliert wurde.

Im Allgemeinen aber gelingt die Balance aus Schwermut und Hoffnungsschimmer besser als anfangs erwartet: Dem getragenen „November Dust“ verhilft unter anderem das klagende Solo zu seiner bedrückenden Atmosphäre, das groovende „Kold“ beschränkt sich ausschließlich auf die ansonsten rar gesäten Death-Growls und auch in „Charcoal Sky“ findet zwischendurch das härtere Vokabular SWALLOW THE SUNs Verwendung.

SWALLOW THE SUN lernen auf “Shining” das Loslassen
Im Gesamtkontext ist das natürlich nur ein kleines Korrektiv, das den stilistischen Umschwung letztendlich wenig abfedern kann. Den nun eingeschlagenen Pfad mitzugehen, bedeutet also auch, die Vergangenheit loslassen zu können. So wie es SWALLOW THE SUN ihrerseits getan haben, um nicht am Ende selbst von Bitterkeit verzehrt zu werden. Blickt man zu lange in diesen Abgrund, droht schließlich genau das – weshalb es wohl Segen und Fluch zugleich ist, dass „Shining“ selbigen bis zum Rand mit Wattebällchen füllt.

Mit “Just Existing” wird am 29. November 2024 das neue Album der Hardcore / Thrash Metal-Band DISLOCATOR erscheinen. Zuvor hat die Band neben “Head In The Sand” mit “Adapt to Survive” eine weitere Single mitsamt Lyric-Video veröffentlicht. Der Song sei ein sozialer Kommentar zum Aufkommen von bösartigem Hass und unerschütterlicher Sturheit, die die moderne Gesellschaft durchdringen. Insbesondere die Rolle der sozialen Medien bei der Schaffung einer Echokammer des Hasses mit Scheuklappen.

Zuvor haben die Engländer aus Barnsley zwei Alben veröffentlicht.

Die Heavy Metal-Band AXETASY hat mit “Withering Tides” ein neues Album angekündigt. Es ist das erste Album der 2019 gegründeten Band aus Stuttgart rund um Sänger und Gitarrist Johnny Kröner (STORMWITCH).

“Withering Tides” wird am 17. Januar 2025 via Dying Victims Productions erscheinen. Vorab gibt es den Track “Voidcrawler” zu hören.

Mit “Sea of Dead Bodies” wird am 29. November 2024 via Via Nocturna das neue Album der Melodic Death Metal-Band BURNING CREATION erscheinen. Es ist nach der Debüt-EP “Never Dead Nation” (2023) das erste Album der Polen und behandelt das Konzept der Wikinger, die aus dem Jenseits zurückkehren, um die Sünden dieser Welt endgültig zu rächen.

“Sea of Dead Bodies” wurde von Marek Stefaniak produziert und mit einem Cover-Artwork von Damian Bydliński ausgestattet.
