MANTAR haben den Nachfolger ihres Albums “Pain Is Forever And This Is The End” angekündigt:  “Post Apocalyptic Depression” ist der Titel der neuen Platte, sie erscheint am 14. Februar 2025 via Metal Blade Records.

Gitarrist und Sänger Hanno Klänhardt verspricht Überraschungen:

Wir wollten diesmal alles anders machen. Beim letzten Album haben wir sehr viel an der Produktion gearbeitet, es ist ein Abum mit einer sehr sauberen Produktion und einem ganz großen Sound. Eine Machtdemonstration. So hatten wir uns es gewünscht und es fühlte sich richtig an. Jetzt reißen wir ein, was wir mit der Platte aufgebaut haben. Es hat einen gewissen Reiz, Erwartungen zu enttäuschen.Die Aufnahmen waren quick and dirty, wir haben nicht mal unseren eigenen Kram ins Studio mitgenommen, sondern mit dem gearbeitet, was da war. Es gab keinen Plan für dieses Album. Wir wollten alles so primitiv und einfach wie möglich halten. Wir haben uns mehr getraut und wirklich alles weggelassen, von dem wir dacheten, es sei nicht nötig. Das kann man hören, so zu spielen macht einfach mehr Spßa. Ich spüre meine Wurzeln in Punk wieder. Neben unserem ersten Album “Death By Burning,” ist das unser rohestes Album, da steckt so viel Punk drin.”

Reinhören kann man in die erste Single “Halsgericht”, zu der es ein Video bei YouTube gibt.

Das Sludge-Duo gibt nach der Veröffentlichung Release-Konzerte in Deutschland. Gemeinsam mit dem Co-Headliner KVELERTAK sind Shows in Berlin, Hamburg, Osnabrück, Wiesbaden und München geplant. Als Support konnten URNE gewonnen werden. Außerdem geben MANTAR ein Konzert in Hannover und spielen auf dem BRAINCRUSHER FESTIVAL im März 2025. Als Support spielen URNE.

Forged in the fierce fires of Melbourne in 2021, The Misanthropes roar into existence, a post-punk powerhouse born from the ashes of Love of Diagrams, Sea Scouts, and Sewers. Monika Fikerle commands the drums, Tim Evans thrashes guitar and belts vocals, while Josh Watson lays down basslines that churn and charge. Their sound snarls with post-punk grit, noise rock chaos, and the distorted haze of lo-fi shoegaze, yet beneath those bleak textures lie hooks sharp enough to pierce. Think of late-night lock-ins with Smog’s Bathysphere or the ragged fury of late ‘80s Wipers mixed with mid-2000s Horrors and The Walkmen.

The Misanthropes build a relentless, unyielding wall of sound throughout their sophomore effort, Headlands—drums like rolling thunder, bass that drives with insistent force, and guitars that crash in turbulent waves. Their music surges, stomps, and storms, embodying a density both fierce and forceful, a dark and driven symphony. It is a sound reflective of the current zeitgeist – restless, unsettled, and chaotic.

Opening track Running Start arrives with a wild, surreal video —a montage bursting with a strange, post-apocalyptic vision, echoing the chaos of Mad Max’s wasteland. The band emerges not as themselves but twisted into eerie dystopian paintings, vivid illustrations, and fractured digital collages. It feels disjointed, an unsettling odyssey that seems plucked straight from the murky depths of the subconscious. A restless, nightmarish world unfolds, brimming with half-formed images that taunt and provoke. The bizarre visuals grip the imagination, where familiar forms blur and morph into unsettling echoes. It pulls you into an off-kilter universe, a place of desolation and distorted dreams.

MTV’s Buzz TV was like a neon beacon broadcasting from some alternate reality, a fractured mirror reflecting the raw chaos of youth culture. Airing exactly once on MTV in 1990, the series was an experiment in non-linearity and cut-up method, avant-garde art, underground cinema, early cyberpunk, industrial culture, appropriation/sampling, and postmodern literature. It was a pulsating stream of the subversive and surreal, where music videos, art, and grunge aesthetics clashed and coalesced into something that felt alive, electric. Every segment seemed engineered by some algorithmic hive mind, curating the odd, the groundbreaking, the countercultural with an uncanny precision. It was a trip into a hyperreal landscape, where the boundaries of reality blurred, and you couldn’t quite tell if you were watching culture unfold or being reprogrammed by it.

New York City’s Ghost Cop summons that half-forgotten fever dream that once buzzed through the television cable, a spectral echo of rebellion. Lucy Swope and Sean Dack, a duo that conjures drama in a dark, dazzling form, wield electronic music like a sorcerer’s spell. Their music unfurls as a cinematic score—part sinister thriller, part pulsating nocturnal dance, drenched in the strange hues of neon dreams. Layer upon layer of delicate, almost ominous synthesizers build, crack, then break again, like a whispered warning wrapped in silk. Swope’s voice drifts, a spectral siren’s call, a breathy lure that pulls the listener inward, yet holds them at the edge of unease, as if drawing them to a line only half-revealed. Here, in this gleaming, glimmering space, drama hangs in the balance—half-surrender, half-alert—waiting for the curtain to rise or the night to deepen.

Their latest venture, TROUBLE TV, becomes a living diary in the spirit of Buzz TV—a series of strange, stitched-together snapshots, documenting life in the throes of creation. Avant-garde and unapologetically experimental, TROUBLE TV unfurls in a kaleidoscope of images: micro-short horror flicks, flickering dystopian scenes, and bursts of live chaos. It’s visual poetry for an age of fractured focus, a hypnotic parade of abstraction. The soundtrack hums with experiments, demos, and discarded versions, unfinished tunes that whisper promises of future metamorphoses. Each note, each frame, defies convention.

“TROUBLE TV leans into the atemporality of our current, continually recorded daily life,” says the band. “It embraces the low-res/high-gain fluidity of the DV tape era, but also utilizes ultra sharp contemporary devices. It can be watched front-to-back; dipped in and out of; skipped around into; put on in the background. There is no one way or right way to experience TROUBLE TV.”

Im Oktober 2023 verkündeten GRAVE DIGGER einen Nezugang im Line-up: Seitdem mit dabei ist Gitarrist Tobias „Tobi“ Kersting (STEELHAMMER, ex-ORDEN OGAN). Kersting ersetzt Axel Ritt, der die Band im September 2023 nach 14 Jahren verlassen hat.

Produziert, gemixt und gemastert hat “Bone Collector” Chris Boltendahl, das Artwork kommt vom brasilianischen Künstler Wanderley Perna. Am 11. Oktober wird die erste Single „Kingdom Of Skulls“ veröffentlicht.

Ab Januar 2025 sind GRAVE DIGGER auf Tour und stellen die neuen Songs auch live vor.

Die estnische Metalcore-Band PRIDIAN veröffentlicht ihr kommendes Album via Century Media, es soll im Frühjahr 2025 erscheinen. Die Wartezeit überbrücken PRIDIAN mit dem neuen Track “Idoldust”, den es als Clip bei YouTube zu sehen gibt. Auch die Video-Single “Near Dark” ist dort im Stream verfügbar.

Mit dem Lyric-Video “Hey Sturm” steht seit Juni der zweite Vorab-Track bei YouTube bereit. Schon Anfang April gab es den ersten Vorgeschmack: Ein Lyric-Video zum Titeltrack kann man sich bei YouTube ansehen. Der Frontmann erläutert:

“Wir sind unglaublich aufgeregt und stolz, euch endlich unseren allerersten Song vorstellen zu können. ‘Harlekin & Krieger’ ist der Titeltrack unseres gleichnamigen Albums, das im August das Licht der Welt erblicken wird.

Harlekin, der Narr des Lebens, tanzt mit unbändiger Freude, und erinnert uns daran, dass wir stets mit einem Lächeln durchs Leben gehen sollten, egal welche Herausforderungen uns erwarten. Doch der Krieger steht bereit, die Schlachten des Lebens mit Mut und Entschlossenheit zu schlagen.

Wir freuen uns darauf, diesen und weitere Songs unseres Debütalbums bei den kommenden Festivalshows mit euch zu feiern!

Die Melodic Rock-Band POWELL-PAYNE hat nach einem Video-Clip zum Opener “Better Days” mit “No Escape” ein Lyric-Video ihres kommenden Albums “Voilà” veröffentlicht. Die Modern Melodic Metal-Band MARBLE hat nach dem Video zu “Theater Is My Essence” mit “The Sleepless King” einen weiteren Video-Clip ihres neuen Albums “T.I.M.E.” veröffentlicht. Es ist nach “A.t.G.o.d.” (2008) und “S.A.V.E” (2021) das dritte Album der Italiener.

“T.I.M.E.” wurde von Marco Zanibelli im Sundowner Studio gemixt und mit einem Cover-Artwork von Giannis Nakos ausgestattet. Release-Termin ist der 8. November 2024 via via Rockshots Records.

In a time steeped in disenchantment, where fragments of innocence and compassion falter in the din, Nathalie Astrada’s voice as Lux Mala strikes a singular chord. With her raw honesty, she offers not optimism, but a stirring realism, weaving together strains of fierce individualism and reflections on pain as paradoxically liberating. Lux Mala, drawing from the Argentine myth —a spectral light haunting fields and forests—illuminates the hidden beauty amid darkness.

Based in Málaga, Spain, Astrada crafts her music, visuals, and videos independently, blending fierce resilience with aesthetic desolation. Her art finds power in paradox, rebellion feeding strength, offering listeners a contemplative escape into shadowed landscapes where solemnity and splendor converge. Drawing influence from Sopor Aeternus, Clan of Xymox, Fad Gadget, and PJ Harvey, her sound traverses a vast territory, moving from delicacy to dissonance, tenderness to storm.

The Spanish-language track Catacumba plunges headlong into a world bristling with electronics, where Astrada’s expansive vocals entwine with synth-heavy soundscapes. It opens with a stark, throbbing bassline, sparse yet potent, soon joined by relentless drum beats that drive the listener into a hypnotic, dangerous dance. The song unspools a sense of suffocating entrapment, where numbness and emptiness hold sway. Words are absent, emotions stifled, as the speaker drifts into an echo of existence—an intangible, ghostly memory suspended in a realm without feeling, regret, or relief. Repetition amplifies the sense of endlessness, portraying a limbo frozen in perpetual darkness, stripped of sensation, hope, and escape.

“Catacumba reflects my thoughts of what we will become once we are dead,’ says Astrada. “It’s a reminder to live now because there is nothing we can do once we are in catacomb-like husks of our former selves.”

The video’s vision sprang from the pen and eye of Alex Garcia Mallarini, a Uruguayan filmmaker now settled in Barcelona, whose shorts have seized awards across global festivals. His direction delves into a whirlwind of human emotion—jealousy laced with love, obsession spiraling into violence. Here, a tempest brews, wrapping itself around a love triangle, where three young women are bound by fierce passion and the dark undertow it summons. Mallarini spins a tale drenched in intensity, brimming with tension and betrayal. Every frame pulses with raw energy, painting a gripping portrait of desire twisted by envy and the bitter, biting consequences that follow.

In 2022, she unveiled Lux Mala, her debut album, bringing forth three striking singles with their own videos, two of which found a home in independent film festivals like Valeiff in Valencia. Lux Mala, both vocalist and instrumentalist, has spun her sound across continents, teaming with artists from Mexico to Germany, Puerto Rico to Scotland.

Her performances lit up the Barciff (Barcelona Indie Film Festival) as well as the Barnadark Fest. Halloween saw her haunting Madrid at Dark Vampires. Anticipation builds for her second studio album, set to arrive in December 2024.

Die Deathcore-Band CABAL hat eine neue Single online gestellt. “End Times” ist als Clip via YouTube abrufbar. Das Stück folgt auf den Preview-Track “Still Cursed” – zu hören ist in dem Song auch Shouter Aaron Matts (TEN56.), das Musikvideo zu “Still Cursed” ist via YouTube abrufbar. Sänger Andreas Bjulver erklärt den Hintergrund:

“Wir sind unglaublich aufgeregt, unsere neue Single ‘Still Cursed’ mit euch allen zu teilen. Jeder, der jemals mit klinischer Depression zu kämpfen hatte, weiß, dass es ein ständiger Kampf ist, der nicht nur einmal gewonnen wird, sondern täglich weitergekämpft werden muss. Oft fühlt es sich an, als würde man einen Schritt nach vorne und zwei Schritte zurück machen. ‘Still Cursed’ ist für alle, die diesen Schmerz schon einmal gespürt haben und wissen, wie es ist, kurz davor zu sein, aufzugeben. Der Track gibt zudem einen Ausblick auf eine neue klangliche Richtung der Band und präsentiert unseren guten Freund Aaron Matts von den französischen Metalcore-Schwergewichten Ten56.”

Beide Vorab-Singles sind dem kommenden Studioalbum “Everything Rots” entnommen, das am 11. April 2025 via Nuclear Blast erscheinen wird.

Progressive Metal aus Italien: BENTHOS haben den neuen Song “Fossil” als Musikvideo bei YouTube online gestellt. Die Gruppe kommentiert:

„’Fossil’ ist der extravaganteste Track, den wir je geschaffen haben. Eine überzeugende, energiegeladene, dynamische und urgewaltige Reise, bei der die Instrumente keine Grenzen kennen und den Hörer in eine abstrakte Dimension versetzen, in der sich verschiedene Klangwelten vermischen. Der Song beschäftigt sich mit der Konfrontation zwischen dem gegenwärtigen Ich und den vergangenen Erfahrungen der Menschheit, fossilisierten Erinnerungen, die tief in der heutigen modernen Gesellschaft verwurzelt sind und uns an die Spuren erinnern, die wir in der Welt hinterlassen“.

Die Post Metal-Band EDYAKARAN hat einen Labeldeal bei My Kingdom Music unterschrieben. Im Zuge dessen werden die Italiener ihr neues Album “Pantheon” veröffentlichen, welches im März 2025 zu erwarten sein wird. Es wird der erste Release der Band sein, die quasi als Nachfolge-Band von IN TORMENTATA QUIETE angesehen werden kann.

“Es war nicht einfach, nach IN TORMENTATA QUIETE in die große Szene zurückzukehren, und es mit EDYAKARAN zu tun, einem Projekt, das zwar von diesen Wurzeln ausgeht, sich aber deutlich von ihnen entfernt, war eine große Herausforderung. (…) EDYAKARAN und unsere Musik sollen eine Feier der menschlichen Evolution sein, indem wir erforschen und konzipieren, was war, was ist und wie es geworden ist. Unser erstes Album trägt den Titel „Pantheon“ und besteht aus 10 Tracks mit einer Gesamtlänge von 45 Minuten, die größtenteils instrumental sind, mit Ausnahme von 3 Liedern, die das Album ausmachen, weil wir wollten, dass die Musik der große Protagonist unseres Projekts ist”, sagt Keyboarder Antonio Ricco.

Under the cloak of night, Berlin transforms into a pulsating heartbeat of shadow and light—a metropolis where history and hedonism entwine on dance floors echoing with the reverberations of decades past. From the industrial hum of Tresor’s vaults to the labyrinthine staircases and corridors of Renate and the hallowed halls of Berghain, the city’s nightlife is a living tapestry woven from the threads of techno beats and whispered secrets

It is with this in mind that Berlin-based experimental project TON has just unveiled their latest single, “The Night,” released under their label, RE−TON. This enchanting track serves as the first taste of their forthcoming EP, *Rooms*, set to drop on January 17th. “The Night” masterfully weaves together nostalgic and contemporary sounds, creating a compelling auditory experience that captivates from the very first note.

Emerging from the vibrant Berlin scene, TON is the brainchild of Julien Siemann. The project delves deep into sound design, weaving elements of post-punk, wave, electronic music, noise, and doom into a cohesive auditory experience. Treating the computer and studio as integral instruments alongside guitar and drums, TON pushes the boundaries of modern composition and production.

In a poetic reflection on “The Night,” TON muses:

“It’s difficult to live in a vast, vibrant city and truly feel you have arrived with its rhythms and its people. The night is both blurred and sharp as you drift between mixed feelings of being hurt and still hoping and trying to find yourself again. Alone, you deal with the pain—thrust back into the great void. Full of hope that she will keep the pain away. Expectations and promises that this moment will protect you. Chasing everything and nothing, you find yourself in her cold embrace and yet you feel so alive because sometimes letting go can be so beautifully easy. The night is the city, the night is the people, the night is the dark. The night is your shelter, the night is your friend, the night is for you.”

“The Night” is a sensual anthem that burbles and pulses with a minimalist synth beat, reminiscent of pixels dancing on a retro CRT screen. The track conjures the spirit of the Pet Shop Boys’ Please era, merging it with the infectious energy of early ’90s dance music. Its captivating rhythms and the sound of crunchy old-school drum samples lay the foundation for smooth, seductive vocals—a hymn celebrating the nightlife of a city whose club culture is renowned worldwide.

The accompanying video for “The Night” encapsulates this atmosphere, offering a visual journey through the enigmatic allure of nocturnal urban life. Watch the video below:

TON’s upcoming EP, Rooms, is a collaborative effort that brings together various artists and influences. Julien Siemann notes that without the ideas, participation, and creativity of collaborators like Vincent Wedel, Lizz, and Karen Dhios, Rooms wouldn’t possess its diverse sound and unique character.

Ab November 2024 wollten BETONTOD auf Headline-Tour gehen, um ihr aktuelles Album “Zeig Dich!” (2023) live zu präsentieren. Jetzt musste die Formation alle Shows des laufenden Jahres verschieben. Betroffen sind die Konzerte in Hannover, Leipzig, Karlsruhe, Pratteln, Frankfurt und Ulm. Ersatztermine stehen derzeit noch nicht fest. BETONTOD äußern sich zu diesem Schritt wie folgt:

Leider gibt es auch Tage an denen man in die hässliche Fratze des Lebens blickt, verbunden mit einer Zeit, die mehr als 100% von einem verlangt und wo wir den Anspruch an uns selbst haben, da zu sein. Da sich diese beiden Zeiten sehr unerwartet und kurzfristig kreuzen, müssen wir den ersten Teil unserer Zeig Dich! Tour 2024 leider verschieben. Ihr könnt uns vertrauen und davon ausgehen, dass uns diese Entscheidung nicht leicht fällt. Wir hoffen auf euer Verständnis und arbeiten bereits an Nachholterminen und informieren euch schnellstmöglich. Eure gekauften Tickets behalten selbstverständlich ihre Gültigkeit.

Die Konzerte im Januar und Februar 2025 (Erlangen, Köln, Dortmund, Erfurt, Berlin, München) sind nicht von dieser Entscheidung betroffen.
