The push‑pull of modern romance: arms open, then locked; promises of “serious” turning slippery. Atlanta dark synth pop duo Teardux’s latest single All About You traces that dizzying orbit—love rationed out, attention weaponized—until self‑respect finally snaps the tether. It’s the second you stop auditioning for someone else’s interest and start choosing yourself.

Lit by after‑hours neon, Teardux drive “All About You” with a mechanized, New Order‑leaning pulse—the True Faith march and Bizarre Love Triangle‑style synth stabs—then lace it with the dusky ache of Clan of Xymox’s “Imagination” from Twist of Shadows. Valerie Andra’s vocals whip, spiral, and churn with southern charm and ardent reverb, while Dylan Anderson tightens the screws with icy 80s-style synths and crisp dancefloor snares.

“All About You is about a significant other keeping you at a distance and not sharing the deep connection you hold for them in return. All they choose to see is themselves and keeping their best interest first—stringing you along while you just want the same energy back,” says the band.

Every chorus draws the boundary a little darker—“take me serious” as a mantra, the plea to stop making it “all about you” flipping the dynamic from fixation to clarity. It’s a bruised, dance‑floor reckoning: cold light, warm blood, and a heart finally refusing the half‑measure.

Ultravox’s Dislocation, from Systems of Romance (1978), came bathed in the precision of Conny Plank’s production, a piece of minimal, krautrock-inflected experimentation. Here, Netschio joins forces with the Europe-wide electronic collective A State of Flux to strip the bones bare and rearticulate them for the present. There’s a certain thrill when the familiar dissolves into something unexpected. For Stefan Netschio, frontman of German synth-pop stalwarts Beborn Beton, this new version of Ultravox’s Dislocation is that departure; a shift from melodic terrain into a terrain more jagged and immediate.

The result is tense, wired, and unafraid of negative space. Abstract guitars mesh with descending synths that feel like they’re dragging you down a spiral staircase. The rhythm section lands with weight, holding the chaos in its orbit. This is less a tribute than a reconstitution: retaining the original’s skeletal DNA while mutating it into something both industrial and alive.

“This cover was my break from synthpop’s familiar comfort zone – an opportunity to embrace something much heavier and darker, more visceral, a side of me that’s rarely heard,” he says.

Arc, one of the collective’s architects, explains: “Inspired by the hugely influential work of John Foxx and Conny Plank, we layered analogue synths with studio-driven detail to echo the pioneering spirit of the Systems of Romance period.”

The accompanying video, filmed in Cologne by Julia Beyer among Brutalist monoliths, mirrors the track’s themes: alienation rendered in steel and concrete, a cityscape as cold witness. Its stark geometry makes the sound feel even denser, every frame tightening the sense of isolation. With Dislocation, Netschio and A State of Flux push it into a different weather system entirely, one where the wind cuts sharper and the horizon is anything but certain. This is a work that steps forward while glancing sidelong at the past, making the space between then and now feel charged, unsteady, and alive.

Formed from shifting memberships: Arc, Peter 7, Sacred Geometry, The Zero Movement, and a revolving roster of collaborators, A State of Flux thrives in anonymity and porous borders. Their work folds retro-tech homage into restless experiment, allowing guests to reframe their own identities in the process. For this, they enlisted Pete Burns of Kill Shelter, whose processed guitar cuts across the track with angular elegance. “After discussing the approach, I leaned heavily into my Robert Fripp and Adrian Belew influences from that era, using abstract, angular processed guitar riffs as soaring sonic textures to reflect the song’s fractured core,” says Burns.

At its heart, Ever So Slowly is a parable, one where the villain isn’t a singular face but an idea, a machine, a force that erodes without fanfare. The song draws its venom from themes of manipulation and coercion, examining the architecture of power built from small, almost imperceptible cruelties. Bindrim’s verses evoke the dismantling of history, the banishment of knowledge, and the cold efficiency of those who control the levers. A mythical chimera stalks these lines, embodying the appetite that topples temples and rewrites creation myths while the crowd still chants holy, holy!

Musically, it’s a darkwave/synthpop behemoth. slinky in its verse, crushing in its chorus. Synth lines coil and strike, industrial beats hammer with mechanical precision, and the hooks land like a trapdoor dropping open beneath your feet. It’s a rallying cry set to a rhythm you can dance to, even as the lyrics paint the slow-motion collapse of a world too distracted to notice its own unraveling.

Bindrim makes that intent explicit: “It’s a chilling allegory of manipulation, control, and psychological subjugation and is a rallying cry against authoritarian creep and corporate greed….I wanted to fuse visceral sound with haunting imagery…every beat and frame warns that complacency erodes us—ever so slowly.”

The accompanying self-directed video translates that urgency into vision. Created with Simona Noreik, it’s a rapid-fire montage of graphic boldness and dystopian beauty, fantastical landscapes fractured by confrontation, dancers moving like they’re shaking off unseen chains, and bursts of visual flame cutting through cold horizons. It feels cinematic, like the soundtrack to a lost sci-fi epic where the stakes are both intimate and infinite.

Bindrim isn’t here to soothe. She’s here to provoke, to remind you that the slow erosion of rights, memory, and truth happens in increments small enough to ignore until it’s far too late.

In The Twilight Zone’s The Fever (1960), Franklin Gibbs arrives in Las Vegas with the smug certainty of a man above vice. By night’s end, he is pacing before a slot machine like a penitent at an altar, hearing its siren-call in the dark. Its coins jangle with the presicion of a rattlesnake’s tail; its lights leer; its hunger becomes his. That fall from sanctimony to surrender is the fever Rani Sharone inhabits in The Fever, the latest single from his solo project And It Was Night.

The Fever channels that descent into a four-minute drama built on a goth-tinged synth pop chassis. It moves with the mechanical compulsion of a one-armed bandit, each hook a pull of the lever, each beat another spin. Depeche Mode’s sleek machinery is in its bones, The Cure’s romance in its bloodstream, Nick Cave’s menace in its eyes, and Danny Elfman’s playful macabre stitched into its grin…with an unexpected wink toward Regurgitator’s irreverence.

The lyrics tell the story from inside the trap. “Calling my name and it’s fucking with my head / like Dr. Jekyll,” the voice confesses. The cycle is clear: seduce, abuse, repeat. A poisoned mind believes it’s winning, even as control slips away. The voice is icy, the beat insistent, the synth lines loop like clinging, obsessive thoughts. It’s addiction rendered as a toxic relationship…one that only tightens its grip.

Beneath the club-ready surface, the track mirrors the original TV episode’s tension. Franklin Gibbs’s hallucination of a slot machine chasing him down a hotel hallway becomes, here, a rhythm that feels as if it’s stalking the listener. The refrain circles back again and again: play it again, until I win, capturing the logic of compulsion: the next pull will be the one.

Beyond touring with Puscifer and drumming for Stolen Babies, he has worked as a session musician and ghostwriter for top Hollywood composers. His original composition premiered at Walt Disney Concert Hall by Hilary Hahn revealed his classical reach; his years as an in-house composer for a leading animation studio honed his instinct for pacing and mood.

With The Fever, Sharone steps from the scoring stage into the front light again. The result is both personal and theatrical: a parable of compulsion set to a dark dance beat, built to move the body while keeping the mind in the tightening grip of the machine.

The house, as always, grins in the end.

In times when shadows lengthen and the air quivers with unrest, the notion of guardian angels walking unseen beside us as quiet constants is a comforting thought. They are the whispers that steady trembling hands, the light that catches in a stranger’s eyes, reminding the fearful they are not abandoned. Though uncertainty narrows vision, angels coax it open, revealing hidden paths between despair and hope. In the midst of doubt, they linger at the edges of knowing, patient as the tide, urging hearts toward love. Their presence is less miracle than mercy, a gentle assurance that the universe remembers each name. In this case, it’s Lorraine.

Flatwaves, a Philadelphia-based four-piece, takes that ethereal presence and folds it into a sound both enveloping and immediate. Since 2018, they’ve resisted confinement to one style, colliding the gauzy textures of 90s shoegaze with the swirling haze of fuzzed-out garage rock and the charge of rock ’n’ roll. Their influences: The Black Angels, Nothing, Cloakroom, Dum Dum Girls, True Widow – serve as reference points, but their approach is unique, built on hypnotic guitars, driving percussion, and vocals that reverberate in the vast, echoing air between.

Lorraine drifts through recollections of a complicated figure; once rebellious, now softened by time, balancing longing with the ache of distance. There’s affection, but also the unsettled sense of not knowing where the story leads.

“Lorraine is a scrapbook of memories that add up to a well-informed suspicion that guardian angels might be real,” says lyricist Tara. “Plus, I wanted to write a ‘name song’ and I was obsessed with the name Lorraine for a few months. There was a time in the 1920s, when my grandparents were born, where a lot of kids were named Lorraine. And you know, oddly enough, portions of Lorraine and Paloma were inspired by moments Allie and I had last time we were on Catalina, a very eerie and magical place. There’s a lot of enchantment out there, and I find that time periods and people that are seemingly long gone are signaling very loudly right now, at least to me. Maybe it’s our collective energies, maybe it’s our guardian angels.”

Bob Sweeney’s video for the track amplifies that spectral pull. A Philadelphia legend behind the lens, Sweeney shapes a vision like a late-night Euro-TV broadcast or public access show stumbled upon by accident; an unmarked doorway into a basement where another decade is still spinning on the turntable. The imagery is inviting, lending Tell Me Secrets a visual echo to its themes of blurred realities, death, and the persistence of memory.

„Geben und Nehmen“, ein Lebensprinzip, welches man in der heutigen Zeit gerne des Öfteren wahrnehmen würde. Die erste Singleauskopplung aus dem neuen ERIC FISH & FRIENDS Album „Auf dem Grund“ ist zwar im Rahmen dieser Jubiläumsplatte (25 Jahre Bandjubiläum) ein Song, der bereits 10 Jahre auf dem Buckel hat, aber dennoch fast wöchentlich an Aktualität gewinnt, angesichts der Ereignisse in der Welt. Das Lied ist, wie alle anderen Lieder des Albums, in ein komplett neues, warmes, interessantes Soundgewand gekleidet. Die Überführung alter Lieder in das Hier und Jetzt ist der Anspruch des Albums „Auf den Grund“. „Geben und Nehmen“ ist einzig deshalb die erste Single, weil die Band damit ein humanistisches Statement setzen will.

Schlimme Nachrichten von AT THE GATES: Die Band schreibt in einem Facbook-Posting, dass bei Sänger bei Tomas Lindberg im Dezember 2023 Krebs im Mund- und Gaumenbereich diagnostiziert wurde. Nach einer schweren Operation, bei dem ihn ein großer Teil des Gaumens entfernt werden musste und einer Strahlentherapie wurden Anfang 2025 weitere Krebsherde entdeckt. Seit Mai muss Tomas Lindberg intensiv im Krankenhaus behandelt werden.

Noch vor der Operation nahm Tomas Lindberg den Gesang für ein neues AT THE GATES-Album auf, das in naher Zukunft veröffentlicht werden soll. Er schrieb dazu im März 2025, sein Statement wurde heute von der Band veröffentlicht. Darin heißt es unter anderem:

Wir haben nun beschlossen, nicht länger mit der Veröffentlichung dieses neuen Albums zu warten. Wir hatten ursprünglich vor, mit der Veröffentlichung zu warten, bis wir wussten, ob und wann ich wieder singen kann und wir die Veröffentlichung mit Konzerten unterstützen können.
Jetzt, wo die Zukunft etwas ungewisser ist, fühlt es sich gut an, dieses Album zu veröffentlichen.

Wir wollen euch über die aktuellen Entwicklungen bei AT THE GATES informieren. Dazu müssen wir etwa anderthalb Jahre zurückblicken. Weiter unten findet ihr eine Nachricht von Tomas, die er im März 2025 geschrieben hat und in der er über die letzten 15 Monate und die Gründe für die Funkstille schreibt.

Anfang Mai erlitt Tomas einen schweren Rückschlag. Seitdem wird er im Krankenhaus rund um die Uhr intensiv betreut. Obwohl dies eine schwierige Zeit ist, bemühen wir uns., zuversichtlich zu bleiben. Aber selbst im besten Fall wird seine Genesung lange dauern. Wir bitten euch, die Privatsphäre von Tomas und seiner Familie zu respektieren.
Wir wissen, wie viel ihm die Band und die Musik bedeuten – Tomas ist unglaublich stolz auf das neue AT THE GATES-Album, an dem wir gearbeitet haben. Wir planen, euch bald weitere Details dazu zu geben.

Die Nachricht von Tomas Lindberg vom März 2025
„Hallo zusammen. Einige von euch haben sich sicher gefragt, warum es in letzter Zeit so still um AT THE GATES geworden ist.
Im Dezember 2023 wurde bei mir ein adenoid-zystisches Karzinom (ein Krebs im Mund- und Gaumenbereich) diagnostiziert, und seitdem habe ich viel durchgemacht – es war ein sehr hartes Jahr. In einer Operation wurde mir ein großer Teil des Gaumens entfernt. Darauf folgte eine zweimonatige Strahlentherapie und ein und ein langer, schwerer Weg zur Genesung.
Jetzt, Anfang 2025, wurden Reste des Krebses gefunden, die weder durch eine Operation noch durch Bestrahlung entfernt werden können. Wir werden also sehen, was der nächste Schritt ist. Wahrscheinlich wird es eine Chemotherapie sein, um den Krebs in Schach zu halten.

Wir haben den Gesang für die Demos des neuen Albums aufgenommen, bevor all dies geschah. Die letzte Version der Gesangsaufnahmen, die auf dem Album zu hören sein werden, habe ich an EINEM Tag aufgenommen, größtenteils in einem Take, am Tag vor der Operation, nur um sicherzugehen, dass wir das Album sozusagen im Kasten haben. Der Gesang wurde also tatsächlich VOR dem Rest des Albums aufgenommen … etwas ungewöhnlich, aber es war ein gutes Gefühl, es hinter uns zu haben.
Wir haben nun beschlossen, nicht länger mit der Veröffentlichung dieses neuen Albums zu warten. Ursprünglich war der Plan, so lange zu warten, bis wir wissen, ob und wann ich wieder singen kann und wir das Album auch mit Konzerten unterstützen können.  Jetzt, wo die Zukunft etwas ungewisser ist, fühlt es sich gut an, dieses Album zu veröffentlichen.

Wir sind alle sehr stolz auf dieses Album. Zum ersten Mal seit über zehn Jahren, haben Jonas und ich gemeinsam mit Anders an einem ganzen Album gearbeitet haben.
Es ist eher eine Rückkehr zu unseren Wurzeln.  Wahrscheinlich am besten zu beschreiben als eine Mischung aus Slaughter of the Soul und At War with Reality, den beiden letzten Alben, die wir mit Anders gemacht haben.
Ich hoffe, wird euch gefallen.
Bitte respektiert, dass wir keine große Sache daraus machen wollen und dass ich keine Interviews zum Thema Krebs, Behandlung oder Genesung geben werde. Wir wollten dies nur öffentlich machen, um unseren Fans zu erklären, warum wir so lange still waren.

SAXON-Sänger Biff Byford ist an Krebs erkrankt und muss sich einer Chemotherapie unterziehen. Bereits im Juni musste die Band einige Auftritte absagen, nun kommen weitere hinzu.

In einer Message auf Instagram spricht Biff Byford  über die Verschiebung der bevorstehenden Konzerte von SAXON in Frankreich und Spanien auf April und Mai nächsten Jahres. Die Ärzte haben ihm jedoch mitgeteilt, dass seine Prognose für die Zukunft positiv ist. Alle Tickets behalten ihre Gültigkeit für die neuen Termine, die in Kürze bekannt gegeben werden.

Leider hat Biffs Behandlung auch Auswirkungen auf die bevorstehenden Festivalauftritte der Band beim TRUTNOFF OPEN AIR, wo der Auftritt der Band Ende August 2025 abgesagt werden musste, und beim Neuborn Open Air, ebenfalls Ende August, das nun auf die Ausgabe 2026 des Festivals verschoben wurde.

Biff möchte den Fans versichern, dass sowohl die spezielle „Hell, Fire and Steel UK & Ireland Tour” der Band im November als auch der Headliner-Auftritt von SAXON beim Metal Hammer Paradise in Lübeck wie geplant stattfinden werden.

Die „Hell Fire and Steel UK Tour“ der Band ist derzeit fast ausverkauft. Fans sollten sich daher schnell die letzten Tickets sichern, um Enttäuschungen zu vermeiden, da dies die letzte Gelegenheit sein wird, SAXON in diesem Jahr in Großbritannien und Irland zu sehen und das klassische Album „Wheels of Steel“ zum letzten Mal von Anfang bis Ende zu hören.

CORONER haben heute den ersten neuen Song seit gut 30 Jahren veröffentlicht: Zu „Renewal“ gibt es auch einen Videoclip:

Der Song ist auch auf dem neuen Album „Dissonance Theory“ zu hören, es wird am 17. Oktober 2025 via Century Media veröffentlicht.

2020 hatte das Trio via facebook angekündigt, in diesem Jahr ein neues Album aufzunehmen. Weitere Details sind noch nicht bekannt.

Schon im Sommer 2016  hatten Gitarrist Tommy Vetterli, Drummer Diego Rapacchietti und Bassist/Sänger Ron Broder bekannt gegeben, dass sie an Songs für ein siebtes Studioalbum arbeiten.

Das letzte Studioalbum von CORONER erschient 1993 mit „Grin“, 2016 veröffentlichte die Tech Thrash Metal-Band Band das DVD/LP-Set „Autopsy“ mit einer Band-Doku, Livemitschnitten, einer Best-of-Auswahl an Songs sowie Interviews.

BAEST trauen sich was. „Colossal“ ist nicht das Death Metal-Album, auf das man nach den starken Vorgängeralben hoffen durfte. „Colossal“ ist eine Riesenüberraschung. „Rutschebanen“, der dänische Begriff für Achterbahn, wäre ein passender Albumtitel für „Colossal“ gewesen, denn auf diesem Album geht’s rauf und runter, von links nach rechts, mit vielen überraschenden Wendungen – und das alles in Höchstgeschwindigkeit.

Der Opener „Strombringer“ eröffnet „Colossal“ mit einem AC/DC-Riff, verzieht sich dann aber schnell in diese skandinavische Death meets Classic Rock-Ecke, in der sich auch THE CROWN einst wohlgefühlt haben. BAEST schaffen es, sogar auch noch ein sehr kurzes, aber sehr cheesy Gitarrensolo sowie einen Stadionrock-Part einzubauen. Der Titelsong ist ein solider Stampfer, hier sitzen BOLT THROWER mit im Rollercoaster-Wagen, „Imp Of The Perverse“ schlägt die Brücke zu Großtaten wie „Necro Sapiens“, dem grandiosen BAEST-Album von 2021. Diese Songs sind die langen Geraden zum Luftholen. „In Loathe And Love“ nehmen BAEST das Tempo raus, hier kann Drummer Sebastian Abildsten zum ersten Mal so richtig zeigen, was er kann. Hier ein Wirbel, da ein Tempowechsel – er macht dieses Album zur Kopfhörerplatte. Und man ahnt, dass da gleich noch was kommt.

„King Of The Sun“ bedeutet freier Fall für alle konservativen Death Metal-Fans: In dem Song ist D-A-D-Sänger Jesper Binzer als Gast und Duettpartner von BAEST-Sänger Simon Olsen zu hören, auch musikalisch verlassen BAEST hier ihre bisherige Fahrspur. Hardrock, Stadionrock, AC/DC-Blues – BAEST mogeln uns auf „Colossal“ so einiges unter. Vielleicht hat das ausgesprochen prägnante Riff in diesem Track zwei, drei Umdrehungen zu viel, vielleicht ist der Song einen Ticken zu überambitioniert. Eventuelle Schwindelanfälle aufgrund der vielen Töne kann man mit „Misfortunate Son“ ausgleichen, die Kooperation mit der dänischen Black Metal-Band ORM geht wieder straight nach vorne und das Album nimmt Fahrt auf. Dann ein direkter Übergang in den nächsten Song „Mouth Of The River“, hier geht‘s wieder rauf und runter, erst Old-School-Death Metal-Nummer, dann rockiges Zwischenspiel.

Instrumental können BAEST auch, das melodiöse „Light Of The Beacons“ hat mit Death Metal wieder gar nix zu tun, BAEST haben hier wie damals SENTENCED  auf ihrem zweiten Album „Amok“ einfach einen komplett anderen Song dazwischengeschoben.  Zum Zieleinlauf kommt „Depraved World“ mit vergleichsweise wenig Wendungen und Schnörkel daher, überrascht aber bei genauem Hinhören mit einer kleinen Doppel-Gitarrenlauf-Anspielung auf IRON MAIDEN.

„Colossal“ ist im besten Sinne progressiv und damit meine ich nicht, dass sich die Musiker plötzlich ihre Instrumente unters Kinn hochschnallen und mit Fingerübungen langweilen. Dass BAEST gute Musiker sind, haben sie schon auf ihren früheren Alben bewiesen. Neu ist, wie songdienlich sie ihre Fähigkeiten einsetzen. Ein mutiges Album, mit dem man ruhig mal die ein oder andere Runde durch einen Teil der Musikgeschichte drehen kann.

PARADISE LOST veröffentlichen ihr 17. Studioalbum: „Ascension“ erscheint am 19. September 2025 via Nuclear Blast. Nun haben die Gothic Metal-Veteranen mit „Tyrants Serenade“ einen weiteren Song daraus geteilt, das Video feiert heute um 16 Uhr Premiere: Sänger Nick Holmes erklärt, dass der Song von Trauer und Verlust handelt: 

Ein toter Menschen weckt in unse auch schöne Erinnerungen an ihn. Doch wie ein Gott der Boshaftigkeit zerstört eine innere Stimme diese Erinnerungen und ruft uns wieder ins Bewusstsein, dass wir jemanden verloren haben. Das quält uns.

Die Alpine Black Metal-Band RAUHNÅCHT hat mit der „Der Spalt Zwischen den Welten“ den Opener ihres kommenden Album „Zwischenwelten“ veröffentlicht. Die Thrash Metal-Band BLOODRIDE hat einen Labeldeal bei Wormholedeath Records unterschrieben. Im Zuge dessen haben die Finnen mit „Deafening“ ein neues Album veröffentlicht. Es ist das fünfte Album der vor 25 Jahren gegründeten Band aus Helsinki. Release-Termin war der 25. Juli 2025. Die Black Metal-Band KAECK hat mit „Gruwelijk Onthaal“ ein neues Album angekündigt. Es ist nach „Stormkult“ (2015) und „Het zwarte dictaat“ (2021) das dritte Album der Niederländer.

„Das Konzept des Albums umfasst die Ankunft des schrecklichen Gottes Kaeck auf Erden. Nachdem er die Menschen telepathisch angewiesen und gezwungen hat, böse Sekten zu gründen, um seine Ankunft vorzubereiten, zermalmt und unterjocht er sie in einem alptraumhaften Dasein der Sklaverei. Es ist der Anfang vom Ende der Menschheit“, sagt Sänger Richard „Oovenmeester“ Herben.

After a triumphant run across the UK and Europe, synthpop chanteur Andy Bell will set foot on North American stages for the first time as a solo artist, beginning October 3rd. The run follows the May release of Ten Crowns, a record that carries Bell’s artistry into uncharted territory.

Best known as one half of one of the UK’s most beloved award-winning songwriting partnerships in Erasure, Bell’s parallel solo career has been anything but quiet. He has released three albums under his own name, alongside two further records as part of his theatrical project Torsten The Bareback Saint. Collaborations have ranged across genres and generations — from British Electric Foundation and Claudia Brücken to Perry Farrell, Boy George, Jake Shears, and, most recently, Debbie Harry. For Ten Crowns, however, Bell turned to long-time friend and collaborator Dave Audé, the Grammy-winning producer, remixer, and DJ.  Now Bell crosses the Atlantic for a tour that promises connection, movement, and the kind of pop alchemy only he can conjure.

Bell’s ascent began with a classified ad in Melody Maker, placed by Clarke (Depeche Mode, Yazoo, The Assembly). The audition that followed set in motion one of pop’s most enduring duos. Erasure went on to sell over 20 million albums, score five UK number one records, win Best British Group at the BRIT Awards, and earn the Attitude Icon Award. Their 2020 release The Neon reaffirmed their place in the cultural bloodstream as it debuted at #4 on the UK Official Albums Chart. Earlier this year, Bell received the ICON Award at the PEUGEOT Attitude PRIDE Awards Europe 2025.

Bell’s four decades of creative partnership with Vince Clarke in Erasure also remain in full flight:  a new album is in the works as the duo prepare to celebrate their 40th anniversary next year.

Produced in Nashville and inspired by both the dancefloor and gospel tradition, Ten Crowns marks a radiant chapter in Andy Bell’s career, reaffirming his place as one of pop’s most expressive voices.

Though best known for four decades of synth-pop splendour with Vince Clarke as Erasure (with a new album in the works), Bell also embraced fresh creative ground with Grammy-winning producer and longtime friend Dave Audé. Having already topped the US dance charts with Aftermath (Here We Go) and True Original, the pair continued writing, almost as an experiment, until Audé relocated to Nashville. The shift in setting sparked a gospel-tinged twist, rooted in Bell’s childhood memories of choirs and cathedral school. Ten Crowns is electric, euphoric, and urgent, chasing meaning as life speeds forward.

“I mean, I’ve got everything I could possibly wish for, you know, I really have, but that’s not to say I’m always fulfilled,” says Bell. “This album’s about picking yourself up, dusting yourself off, embracing life – and about taking that feeling on even when you’re fighting demons in the world, like homophobia, and fighting demons in yourself. It’s about being celebratory and uplifting.”

Three lives in music, three cities, three distinct pasts: Bauhaus/Tones On Tail/Love and Rockets’ arch glamour and experimentation, Sade/Sweetback’s low-lit and elegant basslines, Public Image Ltd./The Pop Group’s irreverent, abstract percussion. Together, they sound like they’ve been daring each other in the studio for decades.

“When I met Bruce for the first time (I had known Paul since way back), we were all renting a very humble rehearsal space in Los Angeles at the same time,” recalls guitarist/vocalist Daniel Ash about the genesis of Ashes And Diamonds, the new band he formed with Bruce Smith (drums, programming, background vocals) and Paul Spencer Denman (bass). “Paul and I had been already discussing working together, but it was Paul’s wife Kim who suggested Bruce for drum duties. It all started with the standard, ‘Hi, I’m Bruce/Hi, I’m Daniel’. About an hour later, the three of us were making a noise putting something together.”

Their debut single On A Rocka, out now via Cleopatra Records, lands as the first flare from the forthcoming album Ashes And Diamonds Are Forever, set for release on October 31, 2025. The title could be a warning, a recollection, or a shrug, while the music sounds like it could short out the streetlights.

On A Rocka drives like late-’50s rock and roll rebuilt for a modern chassis. Daniel’s stabbing, staccato guitar chords fire like a chain of detonations, Bruce’s unyielding beat keeps the wheels true, and Paul’s bassline wraps around the track like an arm holding steady in the storm.

“The first few songs we wrote in the studio together, but then Covid landed, so several songs were written long distance,” says Smith. The pandemic sent Paul to the UK and Bruce to Vermont, their ideas shuttled back and forth as attachments—basslines, beats, skeletons waiting for flesh. “We taped what we had done in LA in the early days, and then went away with it. Bruce put some beats down, I played bass, and we sent what we had done to Daniel,” Paul explains. When the trio reunited in Los Angeles, they worked in a concentrated ten-day burst with engineer Robert Adam Stevenson (Queens of the Stone Age, Jane’s Addiction, The Kills). Twelve tracks were recorded and mixed, “banging it old school,” as Ash calls it.

“For me, it’s been one of the most fulfilling recordings I’ve ever been involved in… and I’ve made a lot,” says Spencer. “The songs are realized, the production is dope with no tracks you wanna skip over…I am incredibly proud of what we have done. When we first got together, we didn’t know if it was going to work out and we had to see if things gelled, but working together was a breeze! I’m a big fan of Bruce and Daniel. They are both exceptional musicians but in a rather non-musical way. They always play things that surprise me and I find that exciting.”

Ash’s lyrics start life as clipped headlines, reassembled into oblique poetry. “By the end of the first day, there were clippings all over the floor… and the rest is history,” he says. In On A Rocka, the colour contrasts and cyclical refrains keep heat and movement in a constant loop—a revving engine that never lets go, echoing the kinetic urgency of Suicide’s Alan Vega.

The video, directed by Jake Scott (son of Ridley Scott), with a music video history including Oasis, U2, Radiohead, and The Rolling Stones. frames the song as a stripped-down road hymn. Ash’s riff rides shotgun with classic motorcycle footage that recalls CHiPs, Rebel Without A Cause, Easy Rider. Speed circles back into ritual, the lens waiting for that point where velocity turns ceremonial.

Ashes And Diamonds Are Forever will be available digitally and in stores on October 31, 2025.

“We wanted to start with something hard and fast for major impact regarding the first single,” says Ash.  “It’s a killer piece of music,” adds Smith. “Super fresh, it doesn’t sound like anyone else. What else can you say?”

Originally anticipated to finish the album in seven months, the process instead stretched to seven years. “Like the time it takes for coal to crystalize,” Ash quips. “…Are Forever may have taken a while to develop, but finding a diamond amongst ashes is a great find indeed.”

The German dark electro-pop duo Rotersand have released a long-awaited new album entitled ‘Don’t Become The Thing You Hated’ today. Preceded by the recent singles ‘Private Firmament (I Fell For You)’ and ‘Sexiness Of Slow’, it is an album that is as much a cultural critique as it is a musical statement. In a world increasingly defined by division, alienation and existential anxiety, the duo cast a sharp eye on the psychological toll of our times and issue a warning. The message is clear: in fighting what we oppose, we risk becoming it ourselves.

Musically, the album is a masterclass in synthesis, melding sonic sophistication with visceral emotional impact. Navigating seamlessly between intricate sound design and tightly constructed rhythmic frameworks, these are layered with melodic hooks that are as intellectually engaging as they are dancefloor-ready.
