VOODOO KISS veröffentlichen ihr zweites Studioalbum: “Feel The Curse” erscheint am 16. August 2024 via Reaper Entertainment. Aufgenommen wurden die acht neuen Stücke im jaM’in Studio in Schwäbisch Gmünd, das Artwork stammt von Sebastian Jerke. Wie sich die Platte anhört, verrät nun die zweite Single “Lords Of Darkness“, zu der Sänger Gerrit Folgendes zu sagen hat:

“‘Lords Of Darkness’ ist musikalisch und textlich quasi das ‘Herzstück’ der Platte und somit eine logische Wahl um das Album als Single zu repräsentieren und  ‘anzuteasern’. Die Grundideen dieses Stücks gehen zwar auf die Anfänge von Voodoo Kiss zurück, allerdings haben wir das Lied im Proberaum komplett runderneuert, umarrangiert, auf links gekrempelt und ganz neu mit Leben, Gesangsmelodien und natürlich einem zum Konzept der Platte und der musikalischen Ausrichtung passenden Text ausgestattet. Zudem haben wir uns entschieden, das Lied zum allergrößten Teil von Steffi am Gesang performen zu lassen, da ihre sanfte und betörende Stimme einfach perfekt zu den zarten Melodien gepasst hat und ich ja schon den Rest das Albums in Grund und Boden singe, haha.“

Die Psychedelic Black Metal-Band ORANSSI PAZUZU meldet sich mit einem neuen Album zurück: “Muuntautuja” bedeutet übersetzt “Gestaltwandler” und erscheint am 11. Oktober 2024 via Nuclear Blast.

Den Titeltrack kann man sich bereits seit einiger Zeit anhören: “Muuntautuja” gibt es als Musikvideo bei YouTube. Die Finnen erklären:

CARNAL TOMB aus Berlin sind aktuell eine der brutalsten Underground-Death Metal-Bands. Ihre aggressive Herangehensweise an die frühen Stadien des Death Metal verbindet pure Aggression mit morbiden Melodien, und obwohl es sich um klassischen Death Metal der alten Schule handelt, beschränkt sich die Band nicht auf einen bestimmten Stil oder regionalen Sound, sondern kreiert ihre eigene Mischung aus sowohl klassischen als auch neueren Einflüssen des Genres. „Osseous Sarcophagus“ ist eine Zusammenstellung seltener Nicht-Album-Tracks, die von der „Descend“-EP, der „Festering Presence“-EP und der „Sinister Congregation“-Split mit Gravehammer stammen. Es ist das erste Mal, dass diese Songs auf einer einzigen Veröffentlichung zusammengefasst sind - das ist klassischer Death Metal, der dich in die Tiefen des Grabes zieht.

Letztes Jahr hat ROME das grandiose Album „Gates Of Europe“ veröffentlicht (Review hier lesen). In dem Album beschäftigt sich Jerome Reuter, der maßgeblich für ROME verantwortlich ist, ausschließlich mit dem Krieg in der Ukraine. Im neuen Werk „World In Flames“ geht es teilweise auch um den von Russland verursachten Krieg, jedoch wird dieses Mal das Kriegsthema zumeist auf eine eher allgemeine Weise betrachtet.

Bei der neuen Veröffentlichung scheint die folgende Überlegung eine wichtige Rolle zu spielen: Einerseits weisen Kriege im Zeitalter der Moderne eine eigene Wesensart auf, andererseits haben alle Kriege auch einen überzeitlichen Wesenskern. Diese Betonung des Überzeitlichen entspricht dem Gesamtwerk von ROME. Denn dort werden Kriege häufig als eine Art anthropologische Konstante gedeutet. Jedoch findet bei ROME keine pauschale Gewaltverherrlichung statt: Wenn Gewalt ästhetisiert oder glorifiziert wird, dann beim Kampf gegen die Tyrannei. Und dieser Kampf ist notwendig, weil der höchste politische Wert die Freiheit des Individuums ist.

Dass beim neuen Werk von ROME das Überzeitliche betont wird, zeigt sich auch beim Blick auf das Cover. Dort ist der Titan Atlas aus der griechischen Mythologie abgebildet. Und wie in der antiken Sage trägt Atlas die Last der Erde auf seinen Schultern. Die Atlas-Abbildung auf dem Cover orientiert sich an einer römischen Kopie einer hellenistischen Skulptur. Die Kopie stammt aus dem 2. Jahrhundert nach Christus.

Das Aussehen des Titans auf dem Cover entspricht ziemlich genau der römischen Vorlage, jedoch wurde die Darstellung der Erde markant verändert. Anders als bei der Vorlage sieht man beim Blick auf die Erde mächtige Rauchschwaden. Das Artwork wirkt sehr dramatisch. Das liegt auch daran, dass auf dem Cover Soldaten in einer vom Krieg zerstörten Landschaft zu sehen sind. Kein Zweifel: Das Cover spiegelt sehr gelungen den Titel und den Inhalt von „World In Flames“ wider.

Das neue Werk hat eine Spielzeit von 22 Minuten. Deshalb bezeichnet das Label die Veröffentlichung als „Minialbum“. Das Album bietet eine Mischung aus Ambient, Industrial und Folk. Zumeist ist die Stimmung dunkel, doch es gibt auch Momente des Lichts.

Gestartet wird mit dem Dark Ambient-Stück „Vol De Nuit“. Der Track wirkt meditativ, eine Melodie ist nur ansatzweise erkennbar. Wie ein Streichinstrument klingen die Töne, sie gleiten langsam dahin. Am Ende des 59 Sekunden langen Stücks schält sich allmählich eine rhythmische Unruhe aus dem Geschehen heraus. Dann folgt ein schroffer Übergang zum Dark Industrial-Song „First We Take Berlin“: Plötzlich hört man ein raues Schlagzeug, es wummert und scheppert unnachgiebig. Reuters Stimme klingt angespannt und beschwörend. Im Hintergrund wabern dunkle Elektroklänge umher, eine Melodie ist nicht erkennbar. Beim Refrain spricht Reuter mehrfach die Worte des Songtitels. Dazu ertönt der Klang einer Geige: Zu hören ist eine kurzgefasste Melodie, die sehr eingängig ist. Sie wird ständig wiederholt.

Der Refrain erhält durch die kompakte Machart und die häufigen Wiederholungen einen hypnotischen und rituellen Charakter. Hierzu passt, dass sich im Verlauf des Lieds das Wesen des Refrains kaum verändert. Der Reiz des Songs liegt vor allem daran, dass Reuter nach jedem Refrain die Strophen mit zunehmender Leidenschaft intoniert. Am Ende des Tracks schiebt sich ein Sprachsample in den Vordergrund des Geschehens. Eine Männerstimme, die nicht Reuters Stimme ist, spricht voller Vehemenz die Worte: „Unser Ziel ist Berlin!“ Die Atmosphäre von „First We Take Berlin“ ist ausnahmslos unheilvoll. Obwohl der Song stets ein schleppendes Tempo hat, wirkt er sehr dramatisch.

Auch die Stimmung des folgenden Dark Industrial-Tracks „Submission“ ist vollkommen finster. Eine prägnante Melodie, deren Klangfarbe einer Geige entspricht, durchzieht den Song kontinuierlich. Die Melodie geistert bei den Strophen eher im Hintergrund umher, beim Refrain tritt sie dominanter in Erscheinung. Bei den Strophen singt Reuter leidenschaftlich. Beim Refrain agiert er eher gleichförmig, er spricht den Songtitel einige Male auf beschwörende Weise.

„Submission“ ist ein packendes Lied – und der Schlussteil wirkt besonders ergreifend. Dort ergänzt Reuter den gesprochenen Ein-Wort-Refrain, indem er mit seiner faszinierenden Singstimme die folgenden mahnenden Worte auf sehr eindringliche Weise vorträgt: „Who will give voice to silent nation? / Who will give voice to speechless land? / Who will give voice to silenced generation? / Who will give voice will give command?“.

Mit „Submission“ hat Reuter ein äußerst tragisch klingendes Denkmal für alle Menschen geschaffen, deren Freiheit von Tyrannen bedroht ist. Bei dem Song denkt man natürlich auch an den Freiheitskampf der Menschen in der Ukraine.

Der Bezug zur Ukraine ist im nächsten Lied sehr direkt. Denn zum Text von „Eagle Wings“ wurde Reuter von einem Gedicht der ukrainischen Dichterin Lesja Ukrainka (1871-1913) inspiriert. Der Folksong startet mit sanften Ambient-Klängen und einem Sample, bei dem die Worte eines ukrainischen Soldaten zu hören sind. Er zitiert das besagte Gedicht. Seine Worte sprach der Soldat bei einer Pressekonferenz. Sie fand statt, als er nach einem Gefangenenaustausch wieder seine Freiheit erlangte. Mit dem Gedichtzitat beschreibt der Soldat ein besonders starkes Freiheitsgefühl: Es fühlt sich an, als ob man Adlerflügel hinter den Schultern spüren würde. Die Worte des Soldaten sind ein sehr berührendes Intro für diesen wunderschönen Song.

Reuters Gesang wirkt bei „Eagle Wings“ besonders sehnsuchtsvoll und leidenschaftlich. Das Lied klingt schwungvoll, obwohl kein Schlagzeug verwendet wird. Der Bass wird nur dezent eingesetzt. Das kraftvolle Gitarrenspiel ist filigran und herrlich melodisch. Die Atmosphäre von „Eagle Wings“ ist nicht nur melancholisch, der Song vermittelt auch ein hoffnungsvolles Gefühl.

Das folgende Lied heißt „Todo Es Nada“. Auch dieser Folksong klingt sehr melodisch, aber er ist noch schwungvoller als „Eagle Wings“. Dass „Todo Es Nada“ sehr druckvoll wirkt, liegt auch daran, dass beim Refrain Schlagzeug zum Einsatz kommt. Angesichts des Songtitels überrascht es nicht, dass Reuter eine Art des Gitarrenspiels gewählt hat, das nach spanischer Folklore klingt. Reuters Gesang ist voller Hingabe. Obwohl bei „Todo Es Nada“ eine tragische Atmosphäre feststellbar ist, wird auch eine Stimmung gezaubert, die Mut macht. Und der Mut, der beschworen wird, ist der Mut zum Widerstand gegen den Vernichtungswillen der Tyrannen.

Nicht nur die Musik von „Todo Es Nada“ ist großartig, der Text ist es auch. Eine Kostprobe: „They came to see us all stumble / See us yielt and see us fold / They thought we would let it all crumble / They thought us weak and thought us cold / And when they strike / They strike to slay / And slay whatever is in their way / But with sword as with pen / We will still be tigers / Among men.“

Der Abschlusstrack ist das Titelstück des Albums: „World In Flames“ ist eine Klangcollage, die vor allem sphärische Tonwellen beinhaltet. Die Atmosphäre ist dunkel und kalt. Eine Melodie ist nicht erkennbar. Ab der zweiten Hälfte des Tracks wabert auch dezenter Chorgesang im Klangbild umher. Kurz vor dem Ende der Ambient-Reise wird der unheimlich wirkende Gesang vehementer. Zum Schluss werden alle Klänge langsam ausgeblendet.

Fazit: Jerome Reuters neues Werk „World In Flames“ zeigt auf, wie wichtig der Kampf gegen die Tyrannei ist. Denn die tyrannischen Vertreter der Spezies Mensch tragen die Verantwortung dafür, dass die Erde in vielerlei Hinsicht ein grauenvoller Ort ist. Reuters Zustandsbeschreibung der Welt ist düster – doch es gibt auch Hoffnung: Die guten Geister sind nicht machtlos! Auch wenn das Böse vermutlich niemals vollständig besiegt werden kann, mitunter kann es eingedämmt werden – und genau dafür lohnt es sich, zu kämpfen! Diese wichtige Botschaft vermittelt „World In Flames“ auf überwältigende musikalische Weise. Tatsächlich hat Reuter erneut ein Meisterwerk geschaffen! Zudem bleibt festzuhalten: Auch in seinem neuen Werk würdigt Reuter den Freiheitskampf der Ukraine. Gut so! In diesem Sinne: Slava Ukraini! (stefan)

Es ist das fünfte Album des von Vis Ortis geführten Projekts, an dem diesmal auch Richard Ziltch, Leigh Ritson (Ex-THRALL) und Alex Pope (RUINS) mitgearbeitet haben.

Track Nummer vier bringt es auf den Punkt: „Break The Rules“ – für WINDWAKER augenscheinlich sogar Lebensphilosophie. Grenzen setzen sich die Australier auf ihrem Zweitwerk nämlich keine, wenn sie zeitgenössischen Metalcore bestenfalls noch als Ausgangspunkt ansehen, um so ziemlich jedem denkbaren musikalischen Einfluss eine Bühne zu geben. „HYPERVIOLENCE“ ist in der Folge mehr Crossover-Scheibe denn Genre-Werk, mixt bratende Gitarren und krachende Breakdowns mit Rap und Hyperpop.

Elektronik spielt in der Folge eine ebenso große Rolle wie das Rock-Instrumentarium, während der Gesang zumeist mit zahlreichen Effekten angereichert wird. Was einen zuckrigen Song wie „SIRENS“ aber immerhin auszeichnet, sind die einprägsamen Hooks und Melodieläufe, die gerade in den warmen Sommermonaten einen Nerv treffen.

WINDWAKER spielen auf “HYPERVIOLENCE” mit Einflüssen aus Pop und Mainstream
Voraussetzung ist jedoch immer eine grundlegende Offenheit für Stilmittel, die sonst vorwiegend im Pop zu Hause sind. Süßlich und brav präsentieren sich WINDWAKER, die ihre Stücke abseits der wenigen harten Ausbrüche immerhin kreativ in Szene setzen. So setzt der Drumcomputer im heftigen „Fractured State Of Mind“ immer dann kurze Akzente, wenn die Gitarren schweigen, wohingegen „Break The Rules“ munter zwischen Rap, Nu-Metal und Hyperpop pendelt.

Doch nicht immer gelingt dieser Spagat ohne Abstriche: Mit seiner übertriebenen Attitüde dreht sich beispielsweise das gen Hip-Hop schielende „Venom“ schnell im Kreis. Das ruhige „Haunting Me“ setzt zur Albummitte derweil eine passende Zäsur, ist aber mit seiner Mainstream-Ausrichtung nicht einmal ansatzweise in Metal bzw. Hardcore zu Hause. In diesem Spannungsfeld fühlen sich WINDWAKER hörbar wohl, weshalb sie im Laufe der 42 Minuten immer wieder in poppige Bahnen zurückkehren. „Tabula Rasa“ sowie „Hypnotised“ mischen in der Folge ebenfalls munter Sprechgesang mit verschiedenen Ausprägungen des Modern Metal.

“HYPERVIOLENCE” richtet sich an ein ganz klar definiertes Publikum
Dass zum Ende hin der Härtepegel deutlich zurückgefahren wird, kostet „HYPERVIOLENCE“ auf den letzten Metern Schwung, dürfte gerade bei der Zielgruppe indes nicht allzu stark ins Gewicht fallen. Geschrieben haben WINDWAKER ihre zweite Full-Length-Platte für ein ganz bestimmtes Publikum: eines, das Radio- und Mainstream-Acts gleichberechtigt neben härterer Musik in der individuellen Playlist willkommen heißt; das Autotune und Computerbeats nicht automatisch als Sakrileg versteht; das durch den Mix der beiden Welten gerne auch mit gängigen Regeln bricht.

Die Death Metal-Band COFFIN ROT hat mit “Dreams Of The Disturbed” ein neues Album angekündigt. Es ist nach “A Monument to the Dead” (2019) das zweite Album der US-Amerikaner aus Portland.

“Dreams Of The Disturbed” wurde gemeinsam mit Charlie Koryn (ASCENDED DEAD) im The Underworld Studio aufgenommen und von Damien Herring (HORRENDOUS) in den Watchtower Studios gemixt und gemastert. Das Cover-Artwork stammt von Jerry “Wyrmwalk” Hionis (u.a. für MORGUL BLADE tätig).

Release-Termin ist der 20. September 2024 via Maggot Stomp. Vorab gibt es den Track “Perverted Exhumation” zu hören.

“”Perverted Exhumation” ist COFFIN ROTs erstes Liebeslied mit unserem Lieblingskanadier Damon MacDonald (DYING REMAINS, DETHEROUS). Die morbide Geschichte eines Mannes, der mit seinem nekrophilen Appetit kämpft, ist brutal, direkt und die perfekte Einleitung für unser neues Album. Mit “Divergence” wird am 13. September 2024 das neue Album der Melodic Death Metal-Band NIGHTWRAITH erscheinen. Es ist nach “NightWraith” (2018) und “Offering” (2022) das dritte Album der US-Amerikaner aus Denver rund um Gitarrist und Sänger Ben Pitts (IN THE COMPANY OF SERPENTS) und Gitarrist Igor Panasewicz (ASHEN HORDE, ABHORIA).

“Divergence” wurde von Zack Ohren (u.a. für MACHINE HEAD tätig) gemixt und gemastert und mit einem Cover-Artwork von Jef Kopp ausgestattet. Vorab gibt es einen Video-Clip zu “Whispers of Dragonflies” – mit Flöten-Spielerin Kelly Schilling (DREADNOUGHT, Ex-STOIC DISSENTION).

Die Progressive Stoner Rock-Band MAMMOTH VOLUME hat nach “Serpent In The Deep” mit “The Battle of Lightwedge” nun auch den Opener ihres kommenden Albums “Raised Up By Witches” als Video-Clip veröffentlicht.

“„Kreatives Schreiben 101: Schreibe, was du weißt“. Was bedeutet das für uns? Nun, Nicklas kennt World of Warcraft und Daniel kennt Pen-&-Paper-Rollenspiele. Der Song hatte bereits einen Text, der von Nicklas’ WoW-Spielen inspiriert war, und das ist es auch, was der Großteil des Comics illustriert. Wir dachten dann, es wäre lustig, das Video mit einer schief gelaufenen Rollenspielsitzung zu beenden”, erklärt die Band.

“Raised Up By Witches” ist nach “The Cursed Who Perform The Larvagod Rites” (2022) das zweite Album der Schweden seit ihrem Comeback. Um die Jahrtausendwende veröffentlichte die Band bereits drei Alben. Release-Termin ist der 23. August 2024 via Blues Funeral Recordings.

HAUJOBB reveal the new video single ‘Opposition’, which is featuring guest vocals by the outstanding Emese Árvai-Illés from the Hungarian pop noire duo BLACK NAIL CABARET. The track is taken from the Electro-Industrial act’s forthcoming new album “The Machine in the Ghost”. The German duo’s tenth full-length has been slated for release on September 20, 2024.

HAUJOBB comment: “Adding guest vocals towards the end of the song was basically the idea of a Saturday afternoon”, programmer Dejan Samardzic explains on behalf of the duo. “Emese is such a reliable artist, she delivered her impressive vocals within 24 hours. Maybe she sensed the urgency this had for me. I could hardly wait to add that new element to the arrangement as it brought a strong organic feel to it.”

Emese Árvai-Illés adds: “Dejan had some wordless singing in mind, like the side vocals of the Eurythmics’ classic ‘Sweet Dreams’, and he asked me to just improvise”, the Hungarian singer reveals. “I recorded a couple of takes and did some random Adlibs at the end. That gave me somewhat of a Massive Attack ‘Unfinished Sympathy’ feel, but in a more industrial way.”

Die Sludge Metal-Band SWAMP COFFIN hat mit “Drowning Glory” ein neues Album angekündigt. Es ist nach “Noose Almighty” (2021) das zweite Album der Engländer aus Rotherham. Kurz vor dem Release des Debütalbums versuchte Bassist Martyn White, sich das Leben zu nehmen. Nach seiner Behandlung und Genesung, verstarben Martyns Vater und die Schwiegermutter von Sänger und Gitarrist Jon Rhodes. Das war die emotionale Ausgangslage um das neue Album zu schreiben.

“Mit diesem Album können wir endlich einen großen Teil des Kummers und des Traumas überwinden, das die Band seit ihrer Gründung begleitet hat”, sagt Jon Rhodes.

“Drowning Glory” wurde von Owen Claxton bei Top Floor Audioworks in Sheffield produziert und wird am 27. September 2024 via APF Records erscheinen. Vorab gibt es zum Opener “Know You’re Worthless” einen Video-Clip.

“Textlich dreht sich der Song um die Frage, ob manche Leute, die sagen „Kenne deinen Wert“, wirklich „Kenne deinen Platz“ meinen. Die Regierung, dein Job, missbrauchende Familienmitglieder oder Partner, jeder, der dich zu seinem eigenen Vorteil unterdrücken will”, sagt Jon Rhodes.

John McAfee, the notorious antivirus software mogul, was discovered deceased in his Spanish prison cell in June 2021, just hours after a court approved his extradition to the United States. He was facing charges of tax evasion and various financial crimes. Officially ruled as a suicide, his death immediately ignited speculation and conspiracy theories. The cryptic note found on him began with, “I AM A PHANTOM PARASITE,” adding fuel to the fire of doubt and suspicion surrounding his demise. The authenticity of the note was questioned by his widow, Janice, who believed it didn’t match McAfee’s state of mind.

Brooklyn-based dystopian post-punk project OPACT, pronounced “Opacity,” is the brainchild of Franco-American musician JMA689. Phantom Parasite, the second single from the upcoming EP Undercurrent, was inspired by an article on John McAfee’s note. The term ‘phantom parasite’ refers to a delusional belief of being infested with non-existent bugs or organisms. This serves as a metaphor for the relentless barrage of news, misinformation, and conspiracy theories that flood our lives daily through social media, traditional media, and various agenda-driven organizations. Phantom Parasite reflects on how these persistent delusions affect our perceptions and reality.

The music revolves around a mechanical beat and a hypnotic bass line. Ominous synths and ghostly guitars add layers of darkness to the mix. Hazy vocals drift in and out, like an imaginary parasite gripping the mind.

The video, a DIY effort shot in the NYC subway, offers a black-and-white vision merging everyday life with the eerie nightmares of mental illness. It flits between dystopian hallucinations of ubiquitous advertising screens and slow-motion, dreamlike glimpses of fellow passengers in those underground silver bullets. This visual narrative captures the unsettling intersection where reality collides with delusion, painting a stark, haunting portrait of the city’s subterranean world.

OPACT started writing new material earlier this year following the hiatus of his previous band. OPACT finds its roots in both the guitar-based post-punk world, and in a more electronic environment. Phantom Parasite was recorded in NYC and mixed in San Francisco with the help of West Coast producer and studio guru Monte Vallier (The Soft Moon, Houses of Heaven, Topographies). It fuses human sensibilities with more mechanical and cold elements.

Es ist die erste Veröffentlichung des franzöischen Quartetts, welches aus Gitarrist und Bassist Maximilien Brigliadori (BÂ’A, DIABLATION), Drummer und Keyboarder Emmanuel Zuccaro (BÂ’A, Ex-HYRGAL) sowie den Sängern Vicomte Vampyr Arkames (AD INFERNA, DIABLATION, Ex-SETH) und Nicolas “RMS Hreidmarr” aint-Morand (BÂ’A, BAISE MA HACHE, GLACIATION, THE CNK, Ex-ANOREXIA NERVOSA) besteht.

“Devant la porte des étoiles” wurde von Arnaud Ménard bei Sicarius Productions gemixt und gemastert. Erscheinen wird die Scheibe am 23. August 2024.  Nach dem Video-Clip zu “France de l’Ombre” gibt es mit “Ordo Opera Cultura” nun einen zweiten Vorab-Track.

Die Death / Thrash Metal-Band THE TROOPS OF DOOM hat mit “A Mass To The Grotesque” ein neues Album veröffentlicht. Es ist nach “Antichrist Reborn” (2022) das zweite Album der Brasilianer aus Belo Horizonte, zu dem die Gruppe jetzt das Lyric-Video “The Grotesque” nachgelegt hat.

“”A Mass To The Grotesque” ist eine dunkle Liturgie für die Ausgestoßenen und ihre Anhänger, die in der Abwesenheit von Licht und der vermeintlichen Diktatur des göttlichen Wortes Schutz finden”, erklärt Gitarrist Jairo Guedz.

“A Mass To The Grotesque”, das am 31. Mai 2024 via Alma Mater Records erschienen ist, wurde gemeinsam mit André Moraes im Audio Porto Studio in Porto Alegre aufgenommen und von Jim Morris im Morrisound Studio in Florida gemixt und gemastert. Den Vorab-Song “Dawn Of Mephisto” kann man sich als Musikvideo bei YouTube ansehen.

Auch die erste Single “Chapels Of The Unholy” steht als Videoclip bei YouTube bereit.

THE TROOPS OF DOOM sind die Gitarristen Jairo Guedz (Ex-SEPULTURA) und Marcelo Vasco (MYSTERIIS, LE CHANT NOIR), Bassist und Sänger Alex Kafer (ENTERRO, MYSTERIIS) sowie Drummer Alexandre Oliveira (EMINENCE).

Im Sommer spielt die Band einige Shows in Deutschland (Termine s. unten).

Mit “House of Cards” wird am 16. August 2024 die neue EP der kanadischen Heavy / Thrash Metal-Band PRISONER erscheinen. Die Scheibe folgt auf das selbstbetitelte Debütalbum, welches erst vor wenigen Monaten erschienen ist.

“House of Cards” wurde von Cody Anstey (OSYRON) in den Clarity Studios gemixt und gemastert und mit einem Cover-Artwork von John Garrett ausgestattet.

ARCH ENEMY veröffentlichen neue Musik: “Dream Stealer” kann man sich als Musikvideo bei YouTube ansehen. Gitarrist Michael Amott erklärt:

„Der erste neue Arch Enemy-Song, den wir seit einiger Zeit veröffentlichen, und es fühlt sich gut an, zurück zu sein! Es war ein Riesenspaß, im Studio an ‘Dream Stealer’ zu arbeiten. Dieser Song hat einfach die hohe Energie und die düstere Atmosphäre, die es so spaßig macht, ihn zu spielen! Dreht ihn auf, laut und heavy! Metal ist unsterblich!“

Gemischt wurde “Dream Stealer” von Jens Bogren, das Mastering übernahm Tony Lindgren.

Das RAGNARÖK FESTIVAL geht auch 2025 wieder in eine neue Runde: Stattfinden wird das Event vom 24. bis 26. April 2025 in der Stadthalle in Lichtenfels. Tickets gibt es derzeit zum Frühbucherpreis von 129,-€ über die offizielle Festivalhomepage.

Als ersten Headliner bestätigte das Indoor-Event nun BEHEMOTH.

Auftreten werden beim 20. Jubiläum des Festivals außerdem OCEANS, BLACK MESSIAH, TRYGLAV, ANTRISCH, ELLENDE, MÅNEGARM, SUIDAKRA, DARK OATH und GROZA auch GRIMA und ULTAR, die als siebter und achter Act bestätigt wurden. Beide Formationen hätten schon 2024 auftreten sollen, mussten ihre Teilnahme jedoch kurzfristig absagen. Weitere Informationen und Bands sollen in Kürze folgen.
