„Wir waren schon immer der Meinung, dass ein großartiges Cover keine Nachahmung, sondern eine Offenbarung ist. Es geht darum, einen Song zu finden, der schon seit deiner Jugend in dir lebt, und ihn herauszulassen, verletzt und verändert“, sagt die Band. „Das sind Songs, die uns gelehrt haben, wie man steht, wie man fällt und wie man weitermacht.“

„Forgeries Vol 1, 1972-1984“, das mit einem Cover-Artwork von Marald van Haasteren ausgestattet wurde, wird am 1. Mai 2026 via Heavy Psych Sounds erscheinen. Vorab gibt es nach dem BEE GEES-Cover „Tragedy“ nun auch das eröffnende SCORPIONS-Cover „Can’t Get Enough“ zu hören.

Die Avant-Garde Post-Black Metal-Band UNVERKALT hat einen Labeldeal bei Season of Mist unterschrieben. Im Zuge dessen ist am 27. Februar 2026 mit „Héréditaire“ ein neues Album der ursprünglich aus Griechenland stammenden Band, die inzwischen in Berlin beheimatetet ist, erschienen.

„Dieses Album ist eine Klage über etwas, das weit älter ist als unsere Existenz“, sagt Gitarrist und Komponist Themis Ioannou (Foray Between Ocean), der auch für das Cover-Artwork verantwortlich zeichnet. „Es handelt von etwas, das sich durch Generationen zieht, auf der Suche nach einer Antwort auf eine allgegenwärtige Frage: Was tragen wir mit uns, das nie uns gehörte?“

Zu „I, The Deceit“ gibt es nun einen weiteren Video-Clip – und diesen mit Gast-Sänger Sakis Tolis (ROTTING CHRIST).

Im Februar ist mit dem Video-Clip zu „Introjects“ eine dritte Vorab-Single erschienen.

„Wir tragen oft Überzeugungen und Ideen mit uns herum, die nie unsere eigenen waren, sondern die wir aus der Welt anderer übernommen haben“, sagt die Band. „Diese toten Konstrukte schlummern unter der Oberfläche und prägen uns still und leise – bis etwas zerbricht. Es gibt einen Moment der Dissonanz, einen Riss in der Oberfläche, eine Erkenntnis, dass das Gewicht, das wir tragen, nicht unser eigenes ist.“

Zuvor hat die Band mit dem Video-Clip zu „Oath Ov Prometheus“ eine zweite Vorab-Single veröffentlicht.

„Dieser Song reflektiert die Illusion von Größe, wie die Menschheit sich selbst zum Gott krönt, um ihren Platz um jeden Preis zu bewahren“, sagt die Band.

„Héréditaire“ wurde von Joshua Barber gemixt und von Lasse Lammert gemastert. Davor hat die 2017 gegründete Band mit „L’Origine du Monde“ (2020) und „A Lump of Death: A Chaos of Dead Lovers“ (2023) zwei Alben veröffentlicht. Vorab gibt es auch zum Opener „Die Auslöschung“ einen Video-Clip.

Die Metalcore / Hardcore-Band EMPLOYED TO SERVE hat nach „Whose Side Are You On?“ – mit Jesse Leach (KILLSWITCH ENGAGE) – mit „Now Thy Kingdom Come“ einen weiteren Video-Clip ihres neuen Albums „Fallen Star“ veröffentlicht.

Die neue Platte folgt auf das 2022er-Werk „Conquering“ nach und wurde von Lewis Johns produziert. Zuvor hat die Band bereits das Video „Breaks Me Down“ und einen Clip zum Titeltrack veröffentlicht.

Die Themen des Albums drehen sich darum, inneres Selbstvertrauen zu finden, furchtlos an Überzeugungen festzuhalten und die Kraft zu nutzen, die in einer eng verbundenen Gruppe steckt. Release-Termin war der 25. April 2025 via Spinefarm.

Die Black Metal-Band KÕDU hat mit „Kirjad Sõgedate Külast“ ein neues Album angekündigt. Es ist nach „Unusta kõik“ (2021) das zweite Album der Esten aus Tallinn und wird am 25. April 2026 via Antiq erscheinen.

Dabei handelt es sich um ein Konzeptalbum, das sich als Sammlung von Briefen aus einem vergessenen Dorf entfaltet, das kurz vor dem Zusammenbruch steht. Durch Geschichten über Dürre, Hungersnot, eine durch Inzucht erhaltene, zerfallende königliche Blutlinie und einen Krimi, der um die Jahrhundertwende spielt, zeichnet das Album ein düsteres Bild von Isolation, Aberglauben und moralischem Verfall. Jeder Song fungiert als schriftliches Zeugnis und enthüllt Fragmente des Schicksals des Dorfes aus verschiedenen Perspektiven.

Auf dem Cover ist ein 1913 entstandenes Bild des estnischen Künstlers Nikolai Triik zu sehen. Vorab gibt es den Track „V“ zu hören.

There is a certain kind of song that arrives carrying its own weather, as if it has already passed through the storm and come back with the story still written across its face. Tranquilatwist, the Rochester duo of Karlie and Anthony Lanni, tap into that feeling with a new single that walks straight into the wreckage of a relationship built on devotion, only to find the slow, necessary work of selfhood waiting on the other side. It feels lived-in and wise, the kind of music made by people who understand that real emotional fallout rarely arrives in a single flash.

The song’s overarching ache comes from the collapse of a bond once treated as sacred. Love and identity have been so tightly bound together that one seems to vanish inside the other. “There was never me, it was always we” lands like the moment the room changes temperature, the instant when private hurt sharpens into recognition. From there, the song moves through outrage, grief, and release with a steady sense of purpose, as buried pain rises to the surface and the old emotional arrangement reveals itself for what it was: a place of confinement dressed up as safety. By the time the singer reaches toward buoyancy and self-reclamation, the words carry the glow of survival.

The music wraps that emotional arc in a gorgeous “down-tempo Goth” atmosphere that feels soft around the edges and steel-wired at the center. The vocals bring to mind Kate Bush, Loreena McKennitt, Annie Lennox, Strange Boutique, and Portishead. There is something deeply felt in the phrasing, a wounded grace that moves across the electronic arrangement with patience and poise. Around it, Tranquilatwist builds a world of hushed beats, drifting textures, and slow-burning mood, giving the song a sense of ceremonial release.

The haunting self-directed video beautifully captures that emotional terrain. Its montage of outdoor vignettes and sincere performance scenes leans into dreamlike imagery without losing its emotional footing. A smoking jack-in-the-box becomes the perfect symbol for the bad surprises hidden inside intimacy, the boxed-in role, the old hurt waiting to spring loose. Smoke curls through the frame like a cleansing force, while dance and ritual gestures suggest a kind of spiritual reset, clearing out old ghosts and stale expectations. There is something lovely in the way the clip frames this recovery as both private and mythic: the return of a buried self.

Nex Benedict, a nonbinary teen, took their own life in 2024 after enduring severe bullying at school. Their loss, much like Matthew Shepard’s before it, made the world feel suddenly smaller and far more cruel. For trans and queer youth, such deaths can tear through the shared imagination, exposing how easily fear and hatred can wound lives still in the tender process of becoming. Within every young person lives a universe of possibility: future friendships, loves, art, discoveries, and ways of seeing that no one else could ever bring. With each life cut short, whole constellations darken…yet in remembering them with grief and care, queer youth also inherit a stubborn light, the belief that their lives are precious, singular, and worth protecting.

Portland’s Darkswoon (Jana Cushman, Norah Lynn, and Rachel Ellis) felt that loss personally, and Antivenom carries the force of that feeling with unusual clarity. Written in response to Benedict’s death, the single channels anguish into something shared, purposeful, and protective. As a queer band, Darkswoon approaches the subject not as distant observers, but as people living within the same atmosphere of danger, tenderness, and vigilance. The song becomes a tribute, a vigil, and a warning all at once, a piece of music that gathers pain into form and then pushes it outward with grace and intent.

A steady compressed snare drives the track with a stern, almost ceremonial insistence, while synths spread in broad, beautiful sheets and bass holds everything to the earth. The arrangement carries darkwave muscle, post-punk tension, dream-pop drift, and shoegaze scale, yet the band never sounds trapped in a category. Instead, they shape a language suited to the occasion: music as memorial, music as shield, music as a place where rage can stand beside care without diminishing either.

The song imagines a spirit continuing beyond the visible frame, somewhere beyond the hard facts of loss, giving the track its emotional reach. Private grief becomes collective remembrance. The dead are held close, their truth protected, their unfinished time carried forward by those still here. When the guitar rises in the final stretch, it lands with the force of accumulated feeling, finally finding air, a release that feels earned because the song has spent its whole duration holding so much in suspension.

Directed by Sarey Martin, the deeply touching video deepens that sense of communal mourning through a concept both devastating and beautiful. It presents a montage of queer luminaries from across the rainbow spectrum seated for portraits in a setting that recalls a prom; their smiling, radiant bodies gradually shifting into masked and costumed figureheads of loss, embodiments of those taken by bigotry, depression, and violence. The effect is quietly shattering. What begins as a scene of celebration slowly becomes a funeral rite – a grim tribute to those who never got to see a prom, a graduation, or any of the ordinary benchmarks of adolescence. The spirits seem to whisper to one another across the frame, as though memory itself has become a living chorus.

Darkswoon have been building toward work like this since Jana Cushman’s 2014 solo project evolved into a trio with Rachel Ellis and Norah Lynn. Across Year One, Bind, and Bloom//Decay, they have widened their scope and sharpened their identity. Antivenom, the title track from their forthcoming April album, suggests a group reaching deeper into its purpose. In a moment when trans and queer youth are so often made to carry unbearable weight, Darkswoon answer with a song that helps carry some of it back.

Die Progressive Death Metal-Band GUTVOID hat mit „Umbriel’s Door“ eine zweite Single ihres kommenden Albums „Liminal Shrines“ veröffentlicht.

„Der Text handelt von einer Gruppe von Wissenschaftlern, die aus dem Hyperschlaf erwachen, um zum ersten Mal Kontakt mit einem außerirdischen Artefakt aufzunehmen, und wir wollten, dass der Song diesen narrativen Verlauf einfängt – er beginnt abrupt, wie das Erwachen durch einen Wecker, und endet schließlich auf unheimliche, transformative Weise“, sagt Frontmann Brendan Dean.

Es ist nach „Durance of Lightless Horizons“ (2022) das zweite Album der Kanadier aus Toronto und bildet den ersten Part eines zweiteiligen Konzeptalbums.

„Liminal Shrines“ wurde von Greg Dawson gemixt und gemastert und mit einem Cover-Artwork von Kjell Åge Meland ausgestattet. Release-Termin ist der 20. März 2026 via Profound Lore. Vorab gibt es auch den Track „Spell Reliquary“ zu hören.

„Im Jahr 2010 verlor ich innerhalb weniger Tage meine Vollzeitband, meine langjährige Beziehung und mein Zuhause, während ich auf Tournee in Europa war…“, erinnert sich Gitarrist Jeff Wilson (CHROME WAVES, ex-NACHTMYSTIUM, ex-WOLVHAMMER). „Jason (Phillips (ACHERON)) war der einzige Mensch, der so freundlich war, mir eine Unterkunft zu geben, bis ich wieder auf die Beine kam. In dieser Zeit nahmen wir das erste Demo von BRINGERS OF DISEASE auf. Ich bin froh, dass ich fünfzehn Jahre später wieder dabei bin und dabei helfen kann, die Band auf ein neues Level zu bringen. Was für eine wilde Reise das gewesen ist.“

Zuvor teilte das Projekt ein Video zu „Strangers In Paradise„:

Als ersten neuen Song stellte die Band „It Takes Two To Tango“ vor, als zweiten „Time To Listen“ und daraufhin „Hellbreaker„.

Zur Besetzung des Projektes gehören: Udo Dirkschneider, langjähriger ACCEPT-Frontmann sowie Gründer von U.D.O. und DIRKSCHNEIDER. Begleitet wird er von Peter Baltes (Bass, Gesang; ACCEPT, DIRKSCHNEIDER), Stefan Kaufmann (Gitarre; ACCEPT, U.D.O.), Mathias Dieth (Gitarre; SINNER, U.D.O.), Udos Sohn Sven Dirkschneider (Schlagzeug; U.D.O., Dirkschneider) und Sängerin Manuela Bibert.

Die Modern Power Metal-Band ANGUS McSIX veröffentlicht am 13. März 2026 ihr neues Album „Angus McSix And The All-Seeing Astral Eye“ via Napalm Records. Eine weitere Hörprobe gibt es nun in Form von „Dig Down„, einer Kollaboration mit VAN CANTO.

Zuvor gab es den Clip zu „I Am Adam McSix„, wo auch RHAPSODY OF FIRE mit einem Gastfeature zu hören sind.

Außerdem geht die Gruppe im März 2026 erstmalig auf Headline-Tournee. Angesetzt sind Shows in Deutschland sowie den Niederlanden. Begleitet wird die Gruppe von BLOODBOUND sowie BRAINSTORM (Termine s. unten).

Im Oktober meldeten sich ANGUS McSIX außerdem mit einer neuen Single zurück: „The Fire Of Yore“ ist bei YouTube als Clip zu sehen. Auch Schauspieler Uwe Ochsenknecht ist hier in einer Gastrolle zu sehen.

„The Fire Of Yore“ ist zugleich Vorbote des zweiten Studioalbums. Auch den Track „6666“ gibt es als Video bei YouTube.

Mit der neuen Nummer stellten ANGUS McSIX zudem ihre neue Gitarristin Jasmin Pabst (ex-OVERSENSE, ex-ALL FOR METAL) vor.

After ten years away, BOCANEGRA return triumphantly with a new video for Charlemagne, a track that shoves its way into the room with real purpose. Carlos Bocanegra sets sensual vocals against a brutal mechanical drive, and the tension between those forces gives the song its charge. It feels feverish, cornered, and fully aware of the polite illusions people build to keep power intact.

Charlemagne‘s bite comes from the way it wraps seduction around dread. The song stares straight at manipulation, at the soft smile that conceals the knife, at the fantasy fed to the vulnerable until they begin to suffocate inside it. You can hear a mind waking up in real time, tracing the outline of the trap, clocking the machinery, recognizing how hope gets dressed up, paraded around, and then strangled in the back room. That realization gives the track its emotional voltage. This is not abstract doom for the sake of atmosphere. This is social poison with a pulse.

Because Bocanegra is sung in Spanish, the track adds another layer of tension and urgency that hits the gut before the brain catches up. The words carry the claustrophobia of immigrant life in a country that sells fantasy while grinding people down under it. Charlemagne catches that feeling of being cornered by a system that smiles while it starves you, then turns the pressure into motion. The song understands the dance floor as a site of release, maybe even conspiracy, a place where the body remembers something the obedient mind nearly forgot.

The old touchstones are there if you want them: Nine Inch Nails, Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly – even a little INXS’s Michael Hutchence peeks through, but BOCANEGRA are not playing museum curator with industrial relics. They sound like people with history in their blood and current in their nerves, people who know the old machines because they have lived beside them and still found a new way to make them spit sparks. Martin Atkins’ orbit makes sense here; Bocanegra has that same instinct for collision, for beauty under duress, for rhythm as threat and invitation at once.

There is also something downright exhilarating in the song’s turn toward uprising. Beneath all the suffocation and psychic rot, Charlemagne keeps one eye on the people still hidden away, waiting for the right second to step forward and wreck the calm of their oppressors. That tension gives the track its real charge. BOCANEGRA have returned with a song that feels dangerous in the proper sense: alive, alert, and ready to kick a hole in the painted wall.

San Francisco’s Pink Stiletto come crashing in with the smeared-lipstick glamour of a nightclub riot half-buried in the fog of memory, dragging the cold chrome of early EBM, mutant synth-pop, and grubby continental club decadence into the present tense with the bonkers Bananza, a track that feels dubbed from a contraband cassette passed hand to hand behind the venue while the city outside coughs up bad news and broken promises. You can hear the old blood in it: Depeche Mode’s sleek unease, Cabaret Voltaire’s diseased disco intellect, Chris & Cosey’s erotic abrasion, DAF’s body-punch propulsion – but Pink Stiletto yank the bolts loose, hotwire the whole machine, and send it careening down the street with the headlights blown out.

The song moves with a strict, marching throb, a beat built for bodies that have seen too much and still insist on cutting a rug. There’s a tart splash in the synth lines, something wired and slightly wicked. The group calls it a reaction to the present state of things: the killing, the hate, the control, the sickness of public life spreading from screen to skin, and that charge runs through every second of it. Here, the dance floor becomes a place where dread gets burned off through repetition, where panic is drilled into rhythm until the body remembers a freedom the world keeps trying to price out, police, or pin to the wall for inspection.

The video catches that spirit beautifully by keeping it rough around the edges. Shot like a lo-fi camcorder spree outside a factory, it has the feel of an illicit gathering assembled out of instinct and nerve. People move as if they’re trying to outpace the century. The industrial backdrop gives the whole thing a hard, ugly majesty, all Brutalist concrete indifference and mechanical fatigue, while the dancing keeps punching holes through the gloom. Sean McGuirk’s editing and animation preserve the tape-scarred immediacy instead of sanding it down, so the clip lands with the right amount of beautiful damage.

That rawness matters because Bananza was self-produced, programmed, and recorded to tape, and you can tell. There’s no sterile showroom gleam here, just pressure, personality, and a sense of contact between hands, machines, and nerves. Tobias Lill’s mix and master keep the track lean and dangerous. Minh Tran’s photography and Soft Power Design’s visuals complete the package with style to burn.

With a 7-inch due in April through Bretford Records and Cuerdas Fuera Records, plus a summer EU run in the works, Pink Stiletto sounds like they’ve found the sweet spot where panic, pleasure, and public collapse all learn to move in step.

There is something gloriously excessive about setting a plea so raw and naked against a landscape built for industry, and DECEITS understand that kind of tension better than most. Please, Wake Up lands with the force of private pain made public, not in some grandstanding way, but in the old pop sense, where a bruised heart gets dressed in rhythm, melody, and enough sky to make the whole thing feel mythic for four minutes. The video takes that charge and stretches it across the Palm Springs wind corridor, where the band performs beneath giant turbines that turn with the indifference of time itself. What could have played as mere mood instead comes across like a dispatch from the edge of endurance, where memory, desire, and sheer motion keep a person from sinking cleanly into the sand.

The music moves with a real sense of body. Kevin Moreno and Francisco Saenz understand that rhythm can carry sorrow without flattening it into a pose, so the bass steps forward with purpose, the drums keep that hips-and-heart balance, and the guitars arrive clean, bright, and slightly remote, like a memory still dressed in its Sunday clothes. The keyboards hang over it all with a faint glow, never crowding the frame, never overexplaining the pain. This band has clearly spent time spinning The Cure, New Order, The Chameleons, Motorama, and Caifanes, but what matters here is the way those affinities get absorbed into lived experience, into Los Angeles blood and backyard weather and the deep pull of music that learned early on how to dance while carrying hurt in its chest.

Shot in the windy valley of Palm Springs, the video makes a strong visual argument for the song’s scale. Windmills tower over the band like mute saints of modern ruin, generating power for some distant city while DECEITS play out in the open, small against the machinery, stubborn against the emptiness. It is a strong image, because it leaves room for thought. You look at those giant blades turning and think of time, industry, memory, the whole grinding business of being left behind while the world keeps producing energy for someone else’s life.

Directed and filmed by Eddie and Teresa of Shuttervisual_, the clip gives the song exactly the kind of visual frame it needs: wide, weather-beaten, and touched by longing without sinking into theatrical excess. Moreno’s vocal carries that measured, wounded quality straight through the screen, and by the time the song opens up into its final rise, you feel less like you’ve watched a performance than stumbled into a private reckoning staged under a pitiless sky. DECEITS have made something lean, beautiful, and bruised here, and it sticks to the ribs.

A particular kind of thrill arises in watching a performer step back into songs that already carry a little damage in their bones and then give them a second life under hot lights and hard focus. That is the charge running through Rosa Damask’s new live performance video in conjunction with her latest offering, Adore You. Filmed by Andrii Kaplia, who also captured the Berlin artist’s appearance at Morphine Raum last year, the video pulls together four songs from the album; the session feels less like a promotional lap than a fresh incision into material that was already cut close to the bone.

Adore You, out now via Downwards Records, introduced Rosa Damask as a figure working in tension: cool surfaces, private panic, desire gone strange in the room where it was once supposed to feel safe. The record moves with a severe kind of sensuality, built from electronic minimalism, lean post-punk muscle, and a voice that could turn from intimate to severe in the space of a line. The songs circle detachment, the slow spoil of closeness, the embarrassing silence that arrives when affection starts to rot from the inside. On record, that atmosphere was suffocating in the best possible way. Live, it gets meaner, sharper, more alive to risk.

Rosa Damask stands in the middle of that machinery, sounding both composed and on the verge of saying something that should have stayed unsaid. There is real voltage in that push and pull. These songs are no longer sealed in the private chamber where they began; they are out in public now, staring back. That public reach is already widening: Bored (included here) was featured in the Versace FW25 runway show in Milan, which makes perfect sense: it carries the kind of cool damage fashion loves to borrow, though the song itself has more bite than mere ornament could ever hold. In this new performance, that edge comes through with even more force.

So consider this video both document and signal flare. It catches Rosa Damask deepening the world of Adore You while pointing toward whatever comes next. With a new album currently being finalized for release later this year, this performance suggests an artist still pushing further into her own beautifully bruised terrain, still finding fresh ways to turn distance, desire, and dread into something immediate enough to leave a mark.

Nick Prosper comes out of New York like a guy who’s spent years riding different trains at once, switching cars mid-tunnel just to see what kind of noise the wheels make on the next stretch of track. He tells you straight where the fuse was lit: “Nick Prosper officially started in 2015, but I was releasing random beats on Soundcloud for a few years before that.” That’s the résumé line, sure, but it also reads like a survival note taped to the inside of a locker: proof of life, proof of work…proof that the algorithm didn’t raise him.

The geography matters because he wears it like a second skin. Brooklyn brashness, Staten Island sideways glare, the whole city’s nervous system threaded through a set of headphones. Then there’s the prehistory, the part that explains his appetite. “Before this, I was heavily involved in the deathcore/hardcore community, and was the frontman of a band called Plan To Prosper…I grew up listening to so many different genres, which is probably why I try so many different sounds in my music, growing up my mother played a lot of 70s and 80s music, my older sister was always blasting rap music in her room, and any time I’d go to my aunt’s house my cousin would show me indie rock from the early 2000s. That combination made me obsessed with wanting to be an artist one day.” Family, decades, rooms, speakers, bloodline – all turned the kid into a collector of impulses.

OUTMYBODY starts as a street-level instinct, chosen on foot, the way real decisions get made when you’re walking on a day that keeps sassing back. The track feels like that gut feeling given muscle: anxious motion with a hook that won’t sit still, a mind trying to outrun its own chatter without pretending the chatter isn’t there. He doesn’t polish the moment, but he hands you the raw admission.

“When I record, I usually don’t write any lyrics down, and that day I was dealing with a lot of anxiety about the future, so the first words that came out when I plugged in the microphone were I’m jumping out my body, and it just felt fitting to the jittery anxiousness I was going through,” he admits. “After it was finished and I listened back, I realized the song is about escaping – sometimes we just want to get away from ourselves, sometimes we just want the chatter in our brain to quiet down for a moment.”

Even the gear story reads like city folklore: five bucks, thrift-store fate, an old Yamaha from the ’80s dragged into the studio like a lucky charm with dents. Then the video, co-directed by Prosper, Bryce Wallace and Arias: bathroom mirror, confrontation, fashion in a dingy building, influences bleeding through in bright bruises.

“I feel since we all have an interest in film and high fashion, I can see so many influences bleeding through. Especially with Bryce’s edit, its gives 90s cult classic  – the lighting in the bathroom reminds me of The Crow; the trippy editing reminds me of Requiem For A Dream, and the way I was dressed felt very Tyler Durden in Fight Club.” That’s the whole point: a mixtape brain, a restless body, a spirit trying to stay “authentic, and spiritually abundant,” even while it’s arguing with the mirror.
