Nach zwei EP-Veröffentlichungen im letzten Jahr veröffentlichen die Berliner Post-Metaller NEÀNDER am 8. November 2024 über Through Love Records ihr neues Album “III”.  Mit einem Video zu “Krater” stellen NEANDER nun die zweite Single daraus vor.  Die erste Single „Ultra“ ist seit Mitte September online. 

Produziert und abgemischt wurde “III” von Jan Oberg im Hidden Planet Studio, das Mastering übernahm Magnus Lindberg und Fabian Warnsing gestaltete das Cover-Artwork. Heute präsentiert die Band auch das Video zur Single „Ultra“.

Obwohl die Veröffentlichung von „Ultra“ später als geplant erfolgt, haben die Berliner ihren Stil weiter verfeinert. Gitarrist Jan Korbach erklärt:

„Es gibt inzwischen einen NEÀNDER-Sound. Das merke ich schon bei der ersten Idee für einen neuen Song. Irgendwas packt mich dann plötzlich, ich schnappe mir die Gitarre, und es wird klar: Das ist NEÀNDER!”

Die Black’n’Roll-Band THE VICE veröffentlichte am 19. Januar 2024 ihr neues Album “Dead Canary Run” via Noble Demon. Zum Release präsentierte die Gruppe ein Musikvideo zum Track “Lit de Parade” bei YouTube. Jetzt legt sie nochmals nach und hat auch einen Clip zu “Crossing Over” online gestellt.

Einen weiteren Vorgeschmack teilten die Schweden zuvor ebenfalls: Die Single “Grant Me Your Peace” steht als Musikvideo bei YouTube bereit.

Das RAGNARÖK FESTIVAL geht auch 2025 wieder in eine neue Runde: Stattfinden wird das Event vom 24. bis 26. April 2025 in der Stadthalle in Lichtenfels. Tickets gibt es derzeit zum Frühbucherpreis von 129,-€ über die offizielle Festivalhomepage.

Als zweiten Headliner bestätigte das Indoor-Event jüngst KORPIKLAANI, die an der Seite von BEHEMOTH das Billing anführen werden.

Auftreten werden beim 20. Spencer Chamberlain verarbeitet in „Survivor’s Guilt“ seine Drogensucht, die er besiegen konnte:

„Ich fühle mich schuldig, weil ich überlebt habe, während viele meiner Freunde es nicht geschafft haben. Die erste Zeile erklärt es ziemlich direkt: Ich bin seit sieben Jahren clean und habe allein im Jahr 2023 acht Freunde an diesen Dämon verloren.  Du besser bist als alle anderen da draußen – du hast nur Glück gehabt. Ich habe meinen Scheiß auf die Reihe gekriegt, bevor es zu spät war. Ich bin dankbar für jeden einzelnen Tag, an dem ich jetzt aufwache, vor allem, weil es eine Zeit gab, in der ich nicht sicher war, ob ich es schaffen würde.“

ARCH ENEMY machen das Dutzend voll und bringen ein neues Studioalbum raus: “Blood Dynasty” erscheint am 28. März 2025 und soll neben charakteristischer Gitarrenriffs auch “gutturale Power und Überraschungen im Clean-Gesang” bieten, schreibt das Label. Wie das Vorgängeralbum “Deceivers” von 2022 erscheint die neue Platte via Century Media Records.

“Blood Dynasty” besteht aus 11 Songs, nun haben ARCH ENMY mit einem Video zu “Liars & Thives” einen weiteren der neuen Tracks im Netz geteilt.

Den ersten ihrer neuen Songs veröffentlichten ARCH ENEMY bereits im Juli 2024: “Dream Stealer” kann man sich als Musikvideo bei YouTube ansehen.

Die Heavy Metal-Band GAUNTLET RULE hat einen Labeldeal bei Fighter Records unterschrieben. Im Zuge dessen werden die Schweden mit “After the Kill” ein neues Album veröffentlichen. Es ist nach “The Plague Court” (2022) das zweite Album der 2019 von ROGGA JOHANSSON (PAGANIZER, MASSACRE) und Peter Svensson (ASSASSIN’S BLADE, VOID MOON) gegründeten Band.

“After the Kill”, das mit einem Cover-Artwork von Juan Felipe More Ibáñez ausgestattet wurde, wird am 12. November 2024 erscheinen. Vorab gibt nach dem Track “Exception to the Rule” mit “The Night Wind” nun auch ein Lyric-Video.

The Death card in traditional tarot, often misunderstood by the uninitiated, represents not the end of life, but the profound transformation that follows the cessation of an old state. It is the herald of change, the severing of attachments that no longer serve the soul’s purpose. To draw this card is to invite the alchemical process of dissolution, wherein the ego must die, shedding outdated beliefs and stagnant patterns. True liberation comes from embracing this necessary destruction, for it paves the way for renewal, rebirth, and a higher state of consciousness. The Death card is the threshold one must cross to step into the unknown, where new possibilities await—bold, unformed, and teeming with potential. Thus, it is a symbol not of doom, but of glorious upheaval, where one’s life is realigned toward deeper truths and higher destinies.

This is tackled in the passionate new single Death Cards, by Lisbon, Portugal’s Uncanny Chamber: Luís Câmara’s haunting vision of darkwave and post-punk, built on years of compositions he had long stashed away. His music pulses with the grit of industrial textures and the cold bite of electronic undertones, a sound that sinks deep into shadowed corners. In 2024, the project took a new turn when Luís invited vocalist Mariana Pinheiro to join, her voice adding a spectral edge that elevated the band into a duet. Her arrival marked a new chapter for Uncanny Chamber, blending eerie harmonies with the dissonant grit of Luís’ compositions.

With Death Cards, Uncanny Chamber seeks to lure listeners into the deeper, shadowed recesses of human emotion, crafting a sound that stirs the soul’s darkest currents. Their music is a slow pull into reflections of absence, longing, and the unspoken spaces between. Luís Câmara and Mariana Pinheiro explore the layers of darkness, suggesting that, like light, shadow is never simple but composed of intricate, shifting shades. Their intention is not just to provoke, but to connect—tugging at the hidden corners of the mind, stirring forgotten feelings. Each chord resonates with electric tension, every lyric hints at the depths of human sorrow and desire. Through their sound, they tap into a primal force

The lyrics read like a slow dance with fate, where the cards are laid out and the stakes are high. Someone stands ready, arms wide open, daring the unknown to play its hand. There’s a head-spinning descent into the inevitable, where suffering and confusion blur night and day. Death looms in every move, and the cards offer no mercy—only the truth.

The video, directed by Jaime Prates, unfolds in stark black and white, a fitting stage for Uncanny Chamber’s haunting performance amidst the wilderness. The setting feels raw, stripped of colour, as the wind seems to carry the heavy weight of the song through the trees. Pinheiro’s vocals cut through like a cold wind, chilling to the bone—her voice rising and falling as if summoning forgotten gods. The rawness of nature, the simplicity of the black and white, and the intensity of Pinheiro’s voice create an atmosphere that crackles with energy, as though the very earth beneath them might respond to the force of the music. Each moment pulses with a kind of primal power, a reminder that sometimes the most stirring forces come from deep within, untouched by time or modern noise.

It’s always the same story, isn’t it? Someone hits the end of the road, looks around, and figures the only thing left to do is reinvent themselves. The familiar feeling of trying to shake off yesterday’s heartbreak, to somehow start fresh, even when it feels like you’re drowning in the same old mess. And in those moments of vulnerability, sometimes the wrong choice is made: a destiny; a collective. And then it all comes down to the company you keep.

In the new single Wrong Girl, LA siren Angela Chambers sings it with that powerful voice of hers, pulling you through the fog, fighting her own battles between light and dark. You can almost see her, shedding the skin that tied her to that shiny, plastic world, trading one identity for another, like changing costumes in the middle of a scene. It’s a reminder that no matter how polished the production, there’s always a struggle beneath the glitter. The hook will get in your head, reminding you that your autonomy is everything in this world. Bringing to mind a Florence and the Machine meets Marina and Annie Lennox vibe, this is the kind of anthem you want to blare loudly when you’re in sore need of a morale boost. It’s pure blazing sunshine.

In the Jonathan Mariande-directed video for Wrong Girl, Chambers portrays a few different characters: the Godzilla femme fatale in black latex manipulating the plane, the dominatrix superhero battling Godzilla while everyone else that keeps trying to drag her down, and the innocent Hollywood glam ego girl who once thought she was on top of the world, flying high on private jets, but she has no clue that she is totally out of control of her own destiny and is being manipulated by Godzilla Femme and the cronies she surrounds herself with

“Terrified Of God” entstand Anfang des Jahres 2024 mit Produzent Randy Lebouf und wurde am 11. Oktober 2024 veröffentlicht.

Sänger Kane erklärt die Idee hinter dem Albumtitel:

“Mit dieser Platte will ich vermitteln, dass die Menschheit nicht alles weiß. Wir haben alle Fehler und viele ekelhafte Eigenschaften. Wir tun so, als hätten wir keine Angst davor, was nach unserem Tod passiert. Ich weiß, dass die meisten Menschen gerne glauben, dass unser Dasein keine Auswirkungen hat, außer denen, die wir während unserer Zeit hier auf andere Menschen haben.  Aber ich weiß auch, dass jeder Angst im Hinterkopf hat. DEAD ICARUS, das Metalcore-Projekt um Alex Varkatzas (ex-ATREYU) stellt ihre neue Single “1 Million Days”  vor.

Der Song stammt vom Debütalbum “Zealot”, zuvor veröffentlichte die Band die Vorab-Tracks “Bearing Burdens And Saving Skin” und “The Unconquerable” bei YouTube.

Der Frontmann führt zu “The Unconquerable” aus:

„Es ist über ein Jahr her, dass wir unsere Debütsingle ‘Sellout’ veröffentlicht haben. Während wir uns auf unsere bevorstehende Tour mit Nekrogoblikon vorbereiten, wollten wir das mit dem brandneuen Banger ‘The Unconquerable’ feiern. Der Song zeigt unsere Vorliebe für atmosphärischen Black Metal im Stile von Cradle of Filth, verbunden mit den Elementen von Metalcore und Hardcore, die wir lieben. Textlich handelt der Song von einem Gefühl, das man nicht benennen kann und das stärker ist als alles andere, etwas, das einen fast unbewusst mit unerbittlichem Antrieb und Ziel vorwärts treibt. Produziert wurde “Zealot” von Gitarrist Gabe Mangold (ENTERPRISE EARTH). Erscheinen wird die Platte am 31. Oktober 2024 via MNRK Heavy.

Das ROCK HARD FESTIVAL 2025 findet am 7. und 8. Juni 2025  wieder im Amphitheater Gelsenkirchen stattfinden, die ersten Bands wurden heute bestätigt. Es spielen:

Lange war nicht klar, ob das Open Air 2025 am gewohnten Ort durchgeführt werden kann, die Veranstalter schrieben dazu im September 2024:

Damit ist eine monatelange Hängepartie um ein neues Camping-Gelände in Fußreichweite beendet, da das alte Camping-Gelände den Vorbereitungen für die Internationale Gartenausstellung 2027 (IGA) zum Opfer gefallen ist. Wir bedanken uns bei allen Kräften, die sich für eine adäquate Weiterführung in Gelsenkirchen eingesetzt haben. Nun gilt es, die verlorene Zeit aufzuholen und die beste „Familienfeier” aller Zeiten auf den Weg zu bringen! Ab jetzt können wir endlich Vollgas geben und werden Euch bald die ersten Bands präsentieren und dann auch mit dem Vorverkauf starten!

Am 18. Oktober 2024 veröffentlichen SWALLOW THE SUN ihr neues Album “Shining”. Zur Veröffentlichung stellen die Finnen einen weiteren Song vor und haben ein Video zu “Charcoal Sky” bei YouTube geteilt.

In den vergangenen Wochen teilten SWALLOW THE SUN auch ein Video zu “MelancHoly” ist bei YouTube, den Audio-Stream gibt es ebenfalls online. Reinhören kann man auch in “What I Have Become“, bereits im Juni zeigten SWALLOW THE SUN mit einem Video zu “Innocence Was Long Forgotten” bei YouTube den ersten der neuen Songs.

“Shining” wurde von Dan Lancaster produziert und gemischt, von Tony Lindgren gemastert und von Juho Räihä bei SoundSpiral Audio aufgenommen.

Sänger Juha Raivio vergleicht das neue Album mit dem Vorgänger “Moonflowers”:

“Nach unserem letzten Album wurde mir  klar, dass es mich umbringen würde, ein weiteres Album wie “Moonflowers” zu schreiben. Also habe ich mir im Stillen gewünscht, das ich gnädiger mit mir sein kann, wenn ich neue Songs schreibe.  Ich wollte nicht wieder wie ein schwarzes Loch jeden Rest von Licht und deiner Seele aufsaugen. Musikalisch glänzt dieses Album wie ein Gletscherdiamant, gleichzeitig hat es Kraft und Wucht, die sich wie ein Tritt ins Gesicht anfühlt! In den Texten geht es darum, wie die Angst vor dem Leben dich letztendlich umbringt und Melancholie zu deinem Gott wird.

Die kanadische Atmospheric Blackened Doom Metal-Band NEPENTHE hat “The Fading Promise Of Tomorrow + Elegies Of Loss And Doom” eine neue Compilation angekündigt. Darauf enthalten sind die neue EP “The Fading Promise Of Tomorrow”, die von Bassist Chris Rowan gemixt und von Bogdan Makarov gemastert wurde, sowie die 2020er-Debüt-EP “Elegies of Loss and Doom”, die von Alex Snape gemixt und gemastert wurde.

“”The Fading Promise Of Tomorrow” ist eine Zusammenstellung unserer persönlichen und künstlerischen Kämpfe bis zu diesem Punkt”, erklärt Sänger Konrad Schröder. “Musikalisch haben wir versucht, mehr Intensität und Wut in unseren Schreibprozess einzubringen, aber dennoch die Balance zu halten und Raum zum Atmen zu lassen, um Atmosphäre aufzubauen. Thematisch beschäftigen sich sowohl “…Fading Promise…” als auch “Elegies…” mit Themen wie Depression, Verlust und Degeneration.”

“The Fading Promise Of Tomorrow + Elegies Of Loss And Doom” wird am 15. November 2024 via Hypaethral Records erscheinen. Vorab gibt es zum Opener “Upon These Unfamiliar Shores” ein Lyric-Video.

“Thematisch ist ‘Upon These Unfamiliar Shores’ eine Allegorie darauf, wie die eigene Liebe manchmal Gift für andere sein kann und wie wir am Ende alle alleine dastehen. In gewisser Weise geht es in dem Song darum, die Vergänglichkeit von Erfahrungen zu akzeptieren und zu lernen, in der Einsamkeit Trost zu finden”, sagt Schröder.

Am 19. November 2024 erschien ein Mitschnitt des KREATOR-Konzerts vom 23. April 2023 in Chile, “Live in Chile” gibt es allerdings nur als Digital-Release. Reinschauen kann man in das Live-Video zu  ‘666 – World Divided’ bei YoTube’. Es ist ein Auszug des kompletten Konzerts, das nun ebenfalls in Bild und Ton via YouTube verfügbar ist.

Ende des Jahres sind KREATOR  zusammen mit ANTHRAX und TESTAMENT auf Europatour, in Deutschland sind sechs Konzerte angekündigt.

Die Thrash Metal-Band DISARRAY hat nach “Realize You’re Already Dead” nun auch den Titeltrack ihres kommenden Albums “Religious Disease” veröffentlicht. Es ist das erste Album der Schweden, die 2023 mit der EP “Evil is Reborn” debütierten. Release-Termin ist der 25. Oktober 2024 via Jawbreaker Records.

Die Heavy Metal-Band DIE FOR MY SINS stellt ihr neues Album “Scream” mit einer weiteren Single vor und nun nach dem Lyrics-Video zu “Time” mit “Still Alive” ein weiteres Lyric-Video geteilt. Bereits im September veröffentlichten die Italiener das Titelstück. Erschienen ist das Debütalbum am 22. November 2024 via ViciSolum Productions.

Gegründet wurde die Formation im Jahr 2022 durch die Brüder Fabio und Nicolas Calluori, die sich für ihr Erstlingswerk mit Ralf Scheepers (PRIMAL FEAR) einen prominenten Session-Musiker als Unterstützung geholt haben. Der Sänger ist auf den meisten Stücken der Platte  – unter anderem “Time” – zu hören, wohingegen Ian Parry (ELEGY) das Mikro im Track “Shades Of Grey” übernahm.

Produziert wurde “Scream” von Fabio Calluori selbst.

Die britische Metalcore-Band POLAR meldet sich nach größerem Line-up-Umbruch mit einer weiteren Single zurück: “A New Mentality” ist via YouTube als Musikvideo zu sehen.

Die vorherige Auskopplung “Paranoia” enthält derweil ein Gast-Feature von Rachel Aspe (CAGE FIGHT). Die Nummer ist nach “Unkillable” bei YouTube und “Swimming With Sharks” der vierte Track des neuen Line-ups. Auch “We Won’t Sleep” gibt es in Bild und Ton bei YouTube.

Das zugehörige Album “Five Arrows” erscheint am 22. November 2024 via Arising Empire auf Vinyl, CD sowie digital. Die Platte folgt auf “Everywhere, Everything” (2023).

There’s a certain kind of stubbornness you see in life, the kind that doesn’t make a show of itself, just keeps pushing, like a boxer who won’t quit no matter how many times he’s hit the canvas. It’s not about grand speeches or revolutions. No, it’s quieter than that—grittier. The kind of resilience that doesn’t care about odds or obstacles. It’s about pushing back against the poison, the grind, the relentless weight that tries to crush you. The world throws chains at you, tries to cage you in, but there’s always a flicker of something deeper—something raw that refuses to be killed off. No grave can hold down that unpolished will to keep moving forward, no matter how many cracks you step through. It’s not a victory parade; it’s a slow, dogged march that outlasts anything thrown its way.

This is the crux of No Grave Can Hold Us Down, the new single from Daniel Knutz, a dark and minimalist synth anthem about resilience and defiance against oppressive forces, symbolizing a struggle to break free from control. They emphasize the enduring strength of the human spirit, declaring that no external force, whether poison or imprisonment, can destroy the soul. The message is one of hope, with a refusal to be conquered or buried by adversity.

The bassline barrels forward, thick and brooding, pulsing with dark energy like a storm brewing beneath the surface. It thrums with the same intensity of Medusa-era Clan of Xymox, driving everything with relentless force. A sharp, melodic synth slices through, dry but electric, crackling with quiet urgency. Then there’s Knutz, his baritone like thunder rolling across a darkened sky, filling every space with weight and power. The whole piece hums with an intensity that builds with each beat, pulling you into its orbit, a force you can’t escape, even if you tried.

The music video shows Knutz roaming around a graffiti-laden cemetery, then the city night, with a boombox on his shoulder, his droll baritone droning out the lyrics in spoken chant as the chorus swells in a triumphant cry.

Before the spotlight fell squarely on Daniel Knutz, he was the pulse, the push, the persistent drive behind Brazil’s The Knutz, a post-punk deathrock force he forged with his brother Tiago Abud. With three albums pressed and two live records spun into the scene, The Knutz cut through the noise, their name carried across a 2017 Latin American tour like whispers on wind. In 2018, The Tower rose, tall and bold, drawing critics to its shadow. Yet, Knutz, never one to bask in the bright burn of past triumphs, took a risk. He broke from the familiar heat of Brazil and leapt into Berlin’s cold embrace. There, with Ludmila Houben at his side, Discodrama was born—flamboyant, theatrical, and brimming with boldness. At some point Knutz wanted to strike out on his own and explore new ideas, and went down a solo path.

In true DIY fashion, Daniel Knutz is an artist that has taken complete control of his solo career. From independently recording his music to directing his own visuals and releasing his work without the backing of a traditional label, Knutz is charting his own course—one that is as bold as it is personal.

Mit diesem Review habe ich mich wirklich schwer getan. Die letzte Scheibe von AKHLYS, „Melinoë“ hat mich nachhaltig umgehauen und deswegen habe ich mich mich auch sehr auf „House Of The Black Geminus“ gefreut. Aber irgendwie will es nicht so richtig bei mir durchstarten. Und damit habe ich quasi ein Problem. Besonders, weil mir ihr Auftritt auf dem Party.San in diesem Jahr (Bericht folgt), total im Gedächtnis geblieben ist. Ich habe selten etwas so lautes UND furchteinflößendes erlebt. Die Stimmung war so fies, dass einem nicht nur sprichwörtlich eine Gänsehaut verpasst wurde. Leider war es gleichzeitig auch so laut, dass ich körperlich Unwohlsein gespürt habe, was nicht häufig vorgekommen ist bis jetzt.
„The Dreaming Of I“ hat mich damals noch überfordert, da war ich noch nicht bereit. (Hier die damalige Meinung meines hochgeschätzen Kollegens Chris)
„Melinoë“ hat total bei mir gezündet.
Und von „House Of The Black Geminus“ hatte ich mir eine exponentielle Steigerung erhofft. Beim Songwriting kann ich sie auch entdecken.
Stimmungstechnisch durchaus auch.
Aber dieser glasklare Sound ist wirklich zu viel für mich. Ehrlich gesagt gibt es keinen extrem großer Unterschied zum Vorgänger, aber es reicht aus. Hier fehlt mir das erdige, der Dreck, den man vorher gut vernehmen konnte. Brachial und brutal ist der Sound und technisch gesehen sicherlich eine großartige Arbeit, aber er landet nicht bei mir. Er schmälert sogar mein Hörerlebnis. Die Songs sind top und diese krasse Stimmung vom Auftritt kann ich hier nachempfinden. Aber wenn „The Mask Of Night-Speaking“ als längster Song mit fast 12 Minuten (es dauert alleine 4 Minuten, bis Gesang ins Spiel kommt) direkt so derbe aufs Maul haut, bin ich geplättet. Der Blastbeatmarathon zum Ende des Songs müsste theoretisch genau mein Ding sein, aber in diesem Soundgewand strapaziert es zu hart meine Trommelfelle. Ich habe jetzt grade beim Reviewschreiben sogar auf den Vorgänger geswitcht, da ich Bock auf die Band habe, mein Tinnitus aber am Gehirn kratzt, ob des krassen Soundangriffs.
Ich verneige mich vor der Band für so ein Album und denke, dass dieser Sound für andere genau der richtige Transportweg für diese Musik ist. Es ist auch lediglich der Sound, der mich davon abhält hier eine Empfehlung auszusprechen. Ich hoffe, dass ich diese beim nächsten Album vergeben kann! (hendrik)

Munich’s Rue Oberkampf, a restless, underground creation by Julia de Jouy and Oliver Maier, pulses with the raw energy of the electronic underground, a world brimming with grit and shadow. Their sound is no polite cocktail of styles, but a fierce fusion of the rough edges of early industrial, the pounding persistence of techno, and the brooding heart of darkwave. It cuts deep, strikes fast, and lingers. What sets them spinning above the rest is how they twist these jagged threads into something immersive, electric, alive. De Jouy’s voice—aching, unpolished, dripping with intensity—floats atop ominous synths and thundering beats, unfolding stories of longing and unrest. Their music commands, it grips, and spirals, pushing the boundaries of sound and stirring a slow-burning fire in the underground, sparking across a sea of souls seeking something sharp, bold, and unforgiving.

The video for the forlorn darkwave song Allein unfolds in the worn, weathered streets of Berlin’s east, shot within the close confines of an old East German bungalow—a place still thick with the ghosts of another era. Along the cracked railway tracks, they drift, their eyes locked on an old television flickering with faded images. They swing on the swings of a half-remembered childhood. The stark, Brutalist architecture looms, casting long shadows of a world caught between past and present. There’s a strange pull, a weight in the air, an echo of a time when good things came with a price, and nothing was given without consequence.

The band shares: “Since we’ve been influenced very much by Rick Rubin’s The Creative Act in the production of the EP, it feels like a sign that he’s posted this quote today ‘Sometimes it’s the friction that allows the fire to come – as long as it’s a skillful friction.'”

Tamas Mesmer, the visionary behind the lens, known for his work with Lebanon Hanover and Qual, captures the cold hum of nostalgia, an ache for something lost yet lingering. The video moves like a memory—half-forgotten but unmistakable—revealing a world where longing and loss dance in the gray light of Berlin’s fractured soul.

Die Modern Progressive Metal-Band RIOGHAN hat mit “Kept” ein neues Album angekündigt. Es ist nach “Different Kinds Of Losses” (2022) das zweite Album der Finnen und wird am 14. Februar 2025 via Inverse Records erscheinen. Vorab giobt es mit “Edge” einen Video-Clip.

“”Edge” gibt die Richtung für die Szenerie des neuen Albums vor und beschreibt die harte Dualität von tief eingeschnittener Verehrung und abscheulicher Enttäuschung mit den Augen einer verwundeten Muse, die nach Rache sucht. Instrumental ist der Song eine ziemlich unerwartete Aufnahme. Wir haben wirklich darüber nachgedacht, ob es überhaupt die erste Single sein sollte, aber nach gründlicher Überlegung war uns klar, dass kein anderer Song besser für den ersten Vorgeschmack geeignet wäre”, erklärt die Band.

Mit “Undead Remains” ist am 11. Oktober 2024 die neue EP der Death Metal-Band MEMBRANCE erschienen. Die Scheibe folgt auf das dritte Album der Italiener “Undead Island” (2023) nach.

“”Undead Remains” zeigt, was von den Sessions unseres letzten Albums “Undead Island” übrig geblieben ist: Es handelt sich um ältere und etwas experimentellere Stücke, an denen die Band noch während der Aufnahmen zum Album gearbeitet hat. Aus diesem Grund wurden sie nicht in das Album aufgenommen, da wir ihnen bei einer späteren Veröffentlichung mehr Aufmerksamkeit schenken wollten”, erklärt die Band aus Venedig.

Die EP wurde mit einem Cover-Artwork von Francesco Cagali ausgestattet und von Luca Cocconi gemastert. Nach einem Lyric-Video zum Opener “Corpse for Sale” gibt es mit “Vengeance’s Price” nun ein weiteres Lyric-Video.

Die Progressive Death Metal-Band BEDSORE hat mit “Dreaming The Strife For Love” ein neues Album angekündigt. Es ist nach “Hypnagogic Hallucinations” (2020) das zweite Album der Italiener aus Rom, die dazwischen auch eine Split mit MORTAL INCARNATION veröffentlicht haben.

Inspiriert wurde die 2018 gegründete Band von dem geheimnisvollen Buch “Hypnerotomachia Poliphili” aus der Renaissance, wobei das Album musikalisch die Konzepte der Liebe als Schlachtfeld, auf dem Begehren und Hingabe durch Prüfungen und spirituelle Erweckungen getestet werden, mit Visionen heidnischer Tempel, mystischer Gärten und arkaner Symbole zu verweben versucht.

“Dreaming The Strife For Love” wurde von Lorenzo Stecconi (LENTO) gemixt und von Magnus Lindberg (CULT OF LUNA) gemastert, während das Cover-Artwork von Denis Forkas Kostromiti (u.a. für BEHEMOTH tätig) stammt. Release-Termin ist der 29. November 2024 via 20 Buck Spin. Vorab gibt es den Track “Realm of Eleuterillide” zu hören.

SARCATOR stellen ihr kommendes Album “Swarming Angels & Flies” mit einem Video zum Titeltrack vor. Das neue Album der Death/Thrash Metal-Band erscheint am 17. Januar 2024 via Century Media Records.

SARCATOR-Sänger und Gitarrist Mateo Tervonen beschreibt den ersten Song der neuen Platte so:

“‘Swarming Angels & Flies’ ist nicht umsonst der Titelsong unseres kommenden Albums. Er vereint alle Elemente dieses Albums und ist einer dieser Songs, mit denen man die Stille brechen möchte. Er bricht aus dem Nichts hervor und trifft dich wie eine Betonfaust. Eine perfekte Einleitung für das, worum es auf diesem Album wirklich geht.

Das komplette Album vereint verschiedene Stile, die Band meint dazu:

Wir wollten die aggressivsten und extremsten Teile von uns hervorheben, aber wir wollten immer noch mit Dynamik arbeiten, so dass man immer noch Elemente von klassischem Rock und Post-Punk hat, mit denen wir auf der letzten Platte zu experimentieren begannen. Es steht außer Frage, dass es unser bisher intensivstes, brutalstes und rohestes Werk ist – es ist nicht wirklich ein Genre-Album und wir möchten es auch so halten.“
